I get tons of qeustions in the comments and in real life about my Boosted Board. That's kinda why I made this. Hopefully this Boosted Board Review was enjoyable to watch and informative. I tried to cover some of the details that I care about more than just the specs. Other pertinent facts/specs can be found on Boosted's website: boostedboards....

As always, I hope you all enjoyed and thanks for watching!
just moved into NYC and is thinking about getting one ! Honestly one of the best reviews or thoughts ive seen on youtube. You've really talked about some details the others have missed ! keep up the good work !
+Fuyang 富陽 thanks dude!
this is the best most honest and logical review I have ever seen. Thank you man this video is quality off the chart! and I totally agree with everything you said. This is coming from an owner of 2 electric boards! also buy helmets and elbow shield and other safty gears people! Only thing i dont agree with is that boosted board is definately not a farari maybe a slow tesla XD cheers!
+Mysteryboy0007 I appreciate that a lot man! Thank you!
Mysteryboy0007 👌🏼🏄🏼⚡
absoulutly
if I ever end up with a large surplus of money I might just have to get a boosted
+TheCalebEffect I would say just save up little by little!
If you can DIY it! I just made one for 250$ and it has a range of 10 miles and a topspeed of 21mph
+Juuso Paajanen nice!
Juuso, Can you link me to all your parts?
get the evolve gt. Every time I let someone who owns a boosted board ride my GT board they usually want to trade.
Should I get a boosted board to get from room to room in my house? Please respond
you will save time, energy, and money. 100% yes go buy it now. RIGHT NOW. GO GO GO!
do it man! it has made my life so much easier, and take it to the toilet, omg, no more running to the john shitting all over the place!
+Blu exactly! Somebody gets it!
TheNeophyte17 nahhhh, hover boards are waaayyyy better for that!
JMontage why is the title saying don't buy but then u said I should?
Love mine, for now I use it in a rural area for practice and fun (not much transportation). But when I get to campus it will really become worth it.
Finally a 1000+ mile review. Thank you.
+Eloy Cruz no problem! Hope you enjoyed!
Have you ever replaced the wheels, bearings, or belts on your board?
I have a Boosted Board with almost 700 miles on it, just wondering if I should replace any parts anytime soon.
+Jewishlewish wheels and bearings, no. But I haven replaced the belts probably 3 times now
+Jewishlewish I only replaced the belts out of necessity though, they were ripping (caused by extreme breaking) which severely impacted the boards performance until I replaced them
Dope. I think i'm going to replace the wheels soon just because I want that shiny orange color again, but I don't think my belts need replaced. Thanks for the reply.
General rule of thumb is 300miles belts, 500miles bearings, 2k miles wheels. I'm surprised you haven't needed to replace the belts yet.
+Ken Trumpoldt yeah that is very surprising
**sees title**
me: well shit i just got a shipping confirmation email that my boosted board will be here in 1-2 business days
hailey how is it
I'm on the fence. I'm going off to college soon but I still dont have a car, so I'm a little hesitant to buy a boosted board.
- On one hand it's more affordable than any vehicle, new or used.
- Its durable by the looks of it, as people have been using the same boards for years so it's not like it's unreliable.
- The amount of money saved long term (gas, insurance, repair costs, monthly payments).
But on the other hand:
I cant travel long distances with it, its limited in where it can drive (cracks, pot holes, etc), and It just doesnt have any of the practicality of an actual vehicle.
What are your thoughts?
Well bro I'm also going college, leaving with no car. Boosted offers payment plans through a bank. So payments are like 65+ a month. I'd say just weigh your options and also depending on your weather.
I think it could be a good investment for you depending on how much you think you’ll be traveling long distance. Look into public transportation in your area that you could use in conjunction with the Boosted.
@@jesushomiejt well I live in Florida so its Ethier sunny, cloudy or raining.
I suppose since I'm going to be a college student the last thing I'm needing to worry about is monthly payments, insurance, and maintenance costs. And you know, theres always that one friend who will drive you places! Thanks guys, I think I'm going to get one
The editing 👍🏽
I'm thinking abut getting one of these!!
+Brahmini Ravi thanks!
i bought a meepo v3 for getting around uOttawa campus, gets delivered today!!! CANT WAIT
It's been a year, how has the board been? Ik everything got shut down, but how was the experience when classes were in-person?
I don't go to college or anything. But I think I'd have a use for this. I always use my Longboard when going out.
So a BB would be so useful
"Meant to be a viable means of transportation". No, it is not.
Fun? Yes.
Good for commuting? No effing way. I have a Dual and a Yuneec Ego. I use the Ego for going to and from school, riding while friends walk(because the ego CAN)and gets me where I need to go WITHOUT the stress of worrying if I'm gonna run out of juice, which the Boosted had done to me on several occasions. Totally left me stranded. The Boosted is like a LaFerrari: Expensive, looks good, gives bragging rights, but good only for the track on weekends. The Ego is a Prius: Reliable, cost effective, crazy range at an acceptable speed. BTW, like the guy in the video, you WILL fall on a BOOSTED. Guaranteed.
Boosted definitely falls short in range, but for me has made up for that in other categories. I’m lucky that the range hasn’t left me stranded too badly ever cus usually I have my backpack and just have my charger in there anyways
JMontage I raced an Evolve GT. I smoked his ass. The price of the Boosted was worth it...for those 10 heart-pounding seconds and every time single time I remember the look on that guy's face. But I don't come across people like that often. And if I did, I could only do it a couple times before having to recharge. So yes, it has the ability, but not the practicality that the Yuneec has. I, too, tote a backpack, but a charger is extra weight I don't need/want to carry.
Jacob Votava I, too, am in college. In Los Angeles. So no, 6 measly miles are not even close to enough and I sure as hell wasn't going to carry a frigging charger around. I paid $1600 to basically beta-test their overpriced product. Remember, this was a go-fund-me start-up. Not an renowned and experienced aviation company at the top of their bluetooth and rechargeable battery game like Yuneec. They were first to market for a reason. And their in-ride programming? That's where the E-go really shines like no other. NO OTHER! But you wouldn't understand unless you rode one. By the way, I see Boosted just "boosted" Yuneec's deck design for their mini. They don't know what the hell they're doing and people shouldn't be paying them to learn. Oh, and my E-go cruiser has over 3000 miles. Over. 3,000. Miles. Not even a belt replacement! But hey, there's a sucker born every minute. Peace out!
Wondering if I should get one to get to school. My school is about a mile and walking is kinda getting old. Also would use it to take to the gym and my gym is just at 4 miles from my house. What do you think?
You live in Ohio, so what about snow or rain? Do you just not ride it during the winter? I live in Indiana and want some type of electric transportation for fun and commuting. OneWheel is just way too expensive and Boosted is 25% off rn. Also the Boosted 105s are out which help with cracks and such. But I need to be able to ride on wet ground.
Can we ride this board on the soil-ground? I mean if it just available on the driving road. That will be really dangerous and inconvenience....
I just found your channel and we are in the SAME position! I use it to commute around my neighborhood and Campus. My Campus is pretty big and it's so helpful for saving my time. Sometimes, people that don't understand e-longboard, wonder how I can go so fast. However, I use another brand.
you might want to use your knee protector and gloves.
+Justin Horman haha that's crazy. Also cool name 😎
Please do more on E-Board videos. like Sara Dietschy haha
You got my subscription man! Love your review. You were real and honest
+Freshy_Vlogs I appreciate that! Thanks homie 👊🏻
Just bought a mini x. I live in a suburban area. I was hoping to ride it to my high school (it’s like 2.5 miles away). We have paved roads and sidewalks, but what’s it like going fast on those bumpy yellow things on sidewalks? I like riding on the smooth sidewalks, but when getting off the sidewalk there’s a yellow bumpy thing (on my non electric shortboard).
Yeah as long as you brace yourself for going over those you should be fine. But don’t underestimate them!
JMontage Thanks for the advice!
What is the learning curve to this? I'm 25 international student, never had a chance to learn skateboarding in my young age, fractured my elbow learning skateboard recently [Now recovered]. Thinking if an electricboard is easier than skateboard. I don't want to have a major fracture again.
I had never ridden a board before getting it
Great video. I go to VT and am getting my board just in time for the school year. Seeing your review made me even more excited to use it on campus. Keep up the good work!
+FootPeek thanks man! Happy boosting!
AYE you might see my there with one
Nice video. I have a V2 Dual+ down in German Village. Great to see someone else has one here in Cbus.
P.S. - Be sure to take your board to PIB or Kelley's Island if you ever head over there. Nice and open and great spots to cruise around.
+Fritz Schilling thanks man!
Hey!, I have 133 miles on my boosted v1 dual and I haven't had any troubles in it. I believe it's the same exact as yours? Since you have reached over 1000 miles on it, can you give me advice or heads up on future maintenance and things to look out for as I keep adding miles on it please ? thanks.
+Mark Martinez yo! Yeah we have the same model. Every ~400 miles you will need to replace your belts. Boosted has tutorials on how to do it on their website. Sometimes if you ride on really bumpy roads for a while you could find some of your screws to come loose. You can ask Boosted for new ones and they'll send them. Other than that there's nothing unless something weird happens to your board like what happened once to mine with the battery.
+JMontage Thank you ! :)
Hey am I see right that you changed your front truck hangers to caliber hangers? Is it better?
I have 500 miles on mine and I've fallen SOOOOO many times. But it's fun, so I deal with it. I totally agree that the two use cases are on a college campus or in a city. I moved to San Jose (from Chicago), and I never get to use it for practical reasons, just for leisure. Silicon Valley (ironically where Boosted was originally from), is NOT a place for a Boosted Board.
I thought having it in small town makes more sense because there is less cars and traffic. In big cities there are already public transportations and the electric board can only go short distance, it cannot replace the public transportation anyway. ( Unless your daily commute is usually short).
Just from my experience and people I’ve talked to it’s directly the opposite. If it works for you in a small town though, great! Using the board in tandem with public transportation isn’t unusual at all.
@@JMontage haha, it was just my assumption. I live in NYC and my commute is very long each day ( 1 hour subway ride) so I have been trying to give myself excuses getting an electric board my very long time. Maybe you are right, I can use the board with the public transportation together, especially when we stuck on the train. lol
How about that, someone else who owns an electric board yet understands common sense and feasibility/utilization of purchase. I'm leaning toward the boosted, I just don't want to have remorse for not holding out for dual+3 next year
+Devin Bardot oh wow haven't even thought about the third gen Boosted. I wonder how it will be different!
JMontage proper waterproofing, 20mi battery range, stronger drive belts, shinier packaging lol
+Devin Bardot that'd be unreal
JMontage that's the nail in the coffin for every competitor, including Evolve
yea, they need to get that range near 20 and I may get one.
I agree with using at as a form of commuting. What I don’t agree with is that it doesn’t make sense elsewhere. Yes, one of the boosted boards purposes is to get places faster and easier, but they also designed the board to rip around and have fun on! I live in a rather open place, and haven’t used my board as a means of transportation once, but I ride on bike paths and everywhere else I can just because it’s so fun! I bought my board(s) solely to enjoy, and it actually acts as a stress reliever after my day of working and commuting.
I think my statements were probably too broad, I also agree with you on that! However I think it’s hard for most people to justify the price point for solely enjoyment. You can rip around on nice bike trails with other boards half the price. Will it be as fun as a boosted? Idk probably not. But people thoroughly enjoy rides in their normal cars with the windows down on a nice day, you don’t necessarily need the nicest or fastest or most expensive car, right? Anyways, thanks for your comment and perspective! Happy riding :)
Love this video, I have a burning question, what video editor/transition do you use to switch the video to spectacles, circular framed videos?
It’s a custom After Effects plugin from BakersTuts on TH-cam. I got that years ago before there were easier and cheaper ones available for other video editors
I live in London, England.
Think it's a good idea. What would you say, get it or not?
+Pine Apple I would say get it! Though London has some older brick roads which would be super annoying to ride on. Might have to switch up your route to avoid those
Thanks for the advice and taking the time to respond. :)
Yeah, the roads are terrible here and i'm thinking it would be quite a big issue....did you get one and how is it to ride on London roads?
Look at the evolve off road board. I bet that would do great in London
with shipping you will be spending around 1500 quid thats a lot
I lost my wireless remote, where can I buy one?
Donald Freymuth I believe their website
boostedboards.com/accessories/boosted-remote
But it isn't waterproof, as in IP67 proof? If you can't ride in te rain, doesn't make it a huge issue when it happens?
+Chewie Pie the first gen (which I have) isn’t water resistant at all. The second gen is water resistant and I’ve seen plenty of people ride when the ground is very wet. However, it is very unsafe to ride in the rain because the board loses traction very easily
Great review!!! Loved it! Do you mind telling me what kind of helmet you use in the video?
+IDominant10 thanks! And of course, it's called a thousand heritage helmet. You can check it out from my Kit which is linked in the description
Just got back from USU a week ago. Can't wait to attend next year
+Shamar Hawkins nice! I'll see ya around #gobucks
wait so after the 6 months of manufacturer warranty, does boosted board still help you? like if the battery or motor messes up for some reason?
I am interested in it, but you said do take helmet cause the speed is so fast. I was wondering if i could use it with a relatively slow mode or speed???
+Bao Richard you totally can! I would still suggest a helmet tho cus why risk it? The only times I've fallen are not because I was going to fast, but because I was unaware of my surroundings
JMontage really thanks for it, I will take one for safety
JMontage btw, I am totally new to electronic board, even to general skate board . Can I really control it?
+Bao Richard it's very intuitive and responsive. You'll feel in control 100%
JMontage really
Appreciated!
If you need more range or just more options in terms on wheels and riding style, can’t go wrong with evolves bamboo gt
i live in the UK and there’s loads of puddles, is it able to go in water?? should i get it?? xx
the gen 2 is water resistant so you're good there, but you should also consider the types of roads you'll be riding on! If there aren't smooth roads, then it might get super annoying to ride :/
JMontage okay thanks xx
the fact u made the title of this vid why you shouldnt and it was a video completely supporting it for city living like myself. I need it.
The title says “probably” in it for a reason. Most people don’t live in big cities where it’s viable.
@@JMontage just ordered mine 👌
First off, great edit my man. Intro was dope. I've never ridden a longboard/skateboard before either. I live in downtown Chicago and I walk to work in the loop about 1.2 miles. I really want to get a boosted board to cut down commute and enjoy the city. How long did it take you to feel comfortable to ride it in an urban area?
About a month I’d say! It can be intimidating but it always makes me feel better to think of myself as a biker because that’s basically how cars treat me on the streets. It definitely helps that the boosted breaks so quickly. And thanks man! Glad you liked it :)
I just need to find the best route to my office. I think i have a few options of having a fully segregated path from cars. So hopefully that may ease me into doing it. One other question, how does it handle getting wet? Chicago weather can be 75 and sunny in the morning then a monsoon/snowing on the way home lol
okay so,I live in a city maybe half the size of Toronto ON (Im Canadian, yes.) and Im wondering if itd be helpful for Co-op? Ive never rode a skateboard ever, and Im going to be getting a job soon, Would it be a good idea?
+~River Gracely~ If there are bike lanes then definitely and if not there's still a good chance it'd be a smart move. I never rode a skateboard before getting my boosted either so don't worry about that, it's easy to master
JMontage Alright, thanks!!
wow man this is exactly what I have been looking for thanks for great vid
+Luke glad to hear it! 👊🏻
I'm struggling if I should buy a Boosted Board or a Backfire v2
If you have the money, definitely the Boosted. But I’m sure the Backfire v2 would be fun too.
heads up this week its cancelled bc of rain but theres an email list and a groupme if u wanted
+Evan Goebel cool thanks for the heads up
Thank you so so so much for this review!! )
Should i buy a boosted board or a boosted board s mini?
Hey man, been looking into electric skateboards for a while now. Going to OSU next year and definitely looking into building a board now to save money. Thank you for the video!
No problem! I’ll see ya around next year homie 👊🏻
Well. I live in Chicago so this is well worth it for me
What about range? Did you get the extended battery too.
I don’t have the second gen so I can’t use the extended range. If I had the money I totally would
Does it still work well after 1k miles? I intend to ride it to school and stuff like everyday I can and want to see if it holds up
+oYeti_TV yes it’s still great. Probably 95% as good as it was on mile 1
JMontage ok thanks response helped me make my decision :)
+oYeti_TV yep!
Really good review Man!
appreciate it, homie!
Good review...thanks!
Should I get a boosted Board? I travel a lot, country to country
traveling on planes with it can be tricky (usually you should be good), but unless you're almost always going to big cities around the world it's probably not that practical. still a ton of fun though!
How many times has the belt snapped?
My nigga said I almost hit like two people. So causal about it lol
idk if youll read this but my name is evan and i go to osu too, you should stop by longboarding club on wednesdays in front of 18th ave library
+Evan Goebel what time?
JMontage 7:30! ill be there im tall and have long hair, ill look for ya
tall long haired guy on long board? Yup everything seems normal here :)
What helmet brand do you wear?
It’s called Thousand
Well lucky for me I live in the Netherlands, and we have bike paths everywhere. And they are flat asf, no bumps nothing.
+Mr Untitled perfect!!!
How well does a boosted board go up hills/inclines?
Very well
You forgot to mention you need insurance to use this on the street since it's mechanically propelled. It's at the cops discretion to take it off you or not if your caught. This is stopping me from buying one right now since who insures skateboards?
+Strange & Beautiful from all my experience I highly doubt that you will ever happen. Unless you put people in danger by riding stupidly, why would a cop take your board? Sure, they technically could, but would they?
you're worrying wayyyy too much just go live your life it will be OK
But is the boosted mini worth it?
That depends
im thinking about buying this thing, ill move to Canada in the next year, and to buy a boosted board probably it would be a nice thing to do, not spending money buying a car when I get there, so... thanks for the advice man (Y) Greetings from Brazil
+Guilherme Meurer of course! Thanks for watching :)
I live in moscow. Its a big ass city and it takes me an hour to an hour and half in the subway. I dont think the boosted is gonna help much
yeah unfortunately it doesn't go far enough for that :/ maybe going to and from the subway though!
Nice video dude!
I live in Arizona (Gilbert) and I love it so much it's so much fun I got it yesterday and it already has 25.9 miles on it
+refreshingtv hahaha wow that's insane. Happy boosting!
I sold my Boosted Board 2 because of battery range ( 7 miles is useless) and I was sick of replacing rubber belts. They break all the time. I bought Acton Blink S2. It's way more useful board. The range is 14 miles (My record is actually 15 miles on one charge) You don't have to replace anything because it has 2 hub motors inside the wheels. It's fast (Around 20 miles).
I guess it's all preference. I'm surprised your using your board to commute more than 7 miles though. At that point I feel like a car would be way faster
JMontage A car in NYC ? I'm not insane. I sold my car many many years ago.
+John 1112 ahh I see. And you trust the hub motors to break in time in NYC traffic?
JMontage Hub motors breaks are safer than belt motors.
+John 1112 hub motors cannot accelerate as fast as a belt driven system which means you can't break as fast.
Dude you live in Cleveland? I know like no TH-camrs who live in Cleveland but I'm from there too. It's cool to see you mention Cleveland and Columbus
Yo dude, I'm in your area. I don't quite understand the law of skateboard/longboard on the road. Does the cop ever pull you over?
+Scione S I’ve been told to get out of the street once. That’s it though
JMontage k thx
+Scione S yep!
does the battery life deteriorate after a while?
+Tommy Tran not that I've noticed!
Of course it does, depends on the battery. Manufacturers guarantee 70-80 percent max charge after 500-1000 recharge cycles. In other words after 500-1000 recharge cycles your battery should still be able to hold 80 percent of the charge it used to have when charged to 100%
Somebody get this man sponsored
+Rachel Spector haha oh Rachel
what app are u using...
I think you're talking about the Boosted app, but it doesn't really work anymore for me.
Great review. The POV shots are useful to see how people behave in crowded situations. So sorry to hear you’re from Ohio State though. Go blue 😜
I didn’t even realize that but that’s one of the most important parts about riding is how to deal with traffic. Mostly you just see people cruising in open roads but that’s not always realistic!! And lol Michigan’s a great school too 👌🏻
I just won one on the boosted board instagram page cannot wait to get in!
Dude no way! That’s so dope, you’re gonna love it 👊🏻 congrats on winning!
JMontage haven’t heard one bad review on this thing, thanks man 👊🏻
What app do you use?
For what?
Dope review bro.
Thanks my dude!
Does the mileage effect the baord
A little bit, but I’d say it’s still like 95% as good as it was when I bought it over 2 years ago.
Curious.. Have you tried other electric skateboards to make any comparisons?
I've ridden a melon board and ridden around with another one (can't remember what it's called). I don't claim to be an expert in all things electric skateboards, just giving my honest review of the boosted
I was looking at one them after planning a budget and all the realised in AUD it is over $2000
Great video dude
+ChapperzTV thanks homie 👊🏻
great editing!
+Memes, Knives, and Games thanks!
Aye so Elongboarding works well at osu?
+Anton Khilkov works very well
Hey I live here in Columbus. Would you ever consider letting me try this thing out? I’ll pay you! I want one but before dropping $1,500, I’d love to try one!
im gotten my board now
How about a evolve carbon gt?
+william chen never ridden it
I have the Boosted Stealth, and it is actually the Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous of the electric rideables if I'm being quite honest. Their build quality and service is unmatched.
If you don't have much money, make it yourself. I made my own electric skateboard for 300euros and it exelled boosted boards range and speed.
Great idea! There’s tons of forums and tutorials online on how to do it yourself
post a video about why you shouldn't get a boosted board, proceeds to say why he loves it XD For real though great review
which go pro do you have?
+Rachel Lehnert I don't have a GoPro actually. The first person POV shots are from my Snapchat Spectacles
I use my electric skateboard just for fun 90% of the times. For me this is really a big enough reason to buy it.
That’s totally fair. It’s a blast to ride. Idk how many people can afford such an expensive way to have fun tho
You ain’t do dat shit on my side of Chicago ⭐️🤝✡️
If you don´t ride for 2 or 3 months your board can be like mine... dead... they say I need to send it back to the factory, but I live in Brazil....
Sorry to hear that man :(
My man !!!
A boosted board would be a nightmare in a average european city, almost nothing is straight up concrete. Although dutch bikelanes would be amazing for it.
+Goldshire Innkeeper Farley yeah you’re so right. That’s why I don’t think it’s the right purchase for so many people
Message brought to you buy, a paid spokes person for boosted boards
Lol I wish that were the case
Dang bro, I live in Columbus and goto CSU and was thinking about getting one
you should! would be super practical!
He said "thing" about 300 times
+Alec Keller thing
Alec Keller make it 301
infamous? why is it infamous? infamous means it's famous for bad reasons.
U right. Idk why I said that, I guess I just thought it sounded cool in the moment. I didn’t have a script or anything so I was just going off the top of my head
JMontage. Chill man it's an honest mistake, I'm just being a grammar nazi. Anyway i enjoyed your video and is thinking of getting a boosted board myself.
Respect, homie 👊🏻
What helmet is that? :)
+TheCaptainTerrific it's a Thousand Helmet :) I love it! You should definitely check it out
never rode a skateboard period before buying a boosted.. hmmmm. Guess it provides a good perspective to those who know jack squat about riding a skateboard ? "I'd never riden a bike before I bought this e-bike"
Not sure what your point is here
I let sombody ride mine they liked it so much they took off on it and didn’t come back long story short I got it back
Damn bro, That's my fear every time someone asks me if they can get a ride on mine. It's like I'm back in school getting my lunch money stolen.
