Hi, Frank. I teach people certain Sicilian phrases. My parents are from Bagheria, Sicily. But there are a lot of different dialects in Sicily. I grew up speaking more of the Palermo dialect. It is very similar to the Calabresse dialect of Reggio. Then of course there is the New York dialect mixed with Napulatno, Calabresse, and Sicilian. However, Al Lettieri (Sollozzo) spoke very good Sicilian. Lenny Montana spoke more of a New York Italian (The Luca Brasi character).I think Di Nero did a good job. But many Sicilians complained his timing was off and that he muttered thorough the language. But Sicilians are known for their critique. You speak the language very well and you did a great job in the film as Genco. God bless.

IMHO Lettieri didn't talk a good Sicilian. His parents were Neapolitan so he talked neapolitan tongue with neapolitan accent. I can clearly recognize a lot of neapolitan terms during meeting with Michael Corleone in Godfather.

Hey Frank, Love your work. My parents, nonno, nonna, zia, zio, were from Siculiana, moved to Little Italy NY, and then to Brooklyn (Bay Ridge, Ft Hamilton, area, near the Verrazano Bridge). I love everything about Italy, Sicily, Brooklyn, NY ! My daughter is traveling to Sicily and I'm so jealous, but she is going to tour the island and of course has to stop in Siculiana Agrigento. I've subscribed and look forward to all your youtube videos. Ciao

How do they get your hair to look like it did in Goodfellas? How much hairspray? Love all the fashion and style back in that era.
