Love your guys channel but you are way to generous with the 5 ⭐️ reviews…For me when book reviewers on TH-cam and Goodreads get overly generous and start handing out 5⭐️ reviews like penny candy you start to lose respect and credibility in the subscriber and book reading community… But it’s not just you guys there are at least 10 TH-cam channels and their hosts that I have steadily started losing credibility and respect for when it comes to their book reviews because there are way to many 5⭐️ reviews…Believe me there are less than 1% of all books ever published that are actually worth a 5 star review let alone dozens every single year…I am strictly a Goodreads reviewer at this point and I have given out maybe a handful of 5⭐️ reviews and I am approaching 1,200 career reviews… I like your guys channel I just ask that you tighten up and raise your standards when it comes to giving out 5 ⭐️ reviews…I do like the fact that you still read and review books where most book TH-cam channels are doing less and less of them and doing less book content…Some staple reviewers I used to always follow I don’t anymore because of this reason…they hardly read and review books and when they do they are mostly 5⭐️ which I don’t respect their opinions anymore…I like your Dad’s books though I am not just doing fantasy and SF but also political and military thrillers, mystery, detective, police, historical fiction but also general fiction and classics as well…I have read all of your Dad’s books and have rated them between 3.0-4.0 ⭐️ which is excellent considering I next to never give out 5⭐️ reviews…The only 5 ⭐️ reviews I have given out are to a very few select classic novels…Nothing after the early 20th century has been given 5 ⭐️ by me…So just try and raise your standards and be a little bit stricter when it comes to giving out 5 ⭐️ reviews…I assure you both and your subscribers neither of these books is near 5 stars not even close… They are average 2.5-3.0 ⭐️ at the very most…I enjoy your channel 😊 keep up the good works 👍🏻
I think you have forgotten that reading and the enjoyment of a book is totally up to the reader themself as it is subjective. I’m afraid you really can’t talk like this with confidence and tell someone else the standards they should use to select and judge books, good for you to have read so much and have rated nearly nothing 5 stars, but it is not an achievement I can assure you. If we absolutely love a book and connect to it on an emotional level, are desperate to talk to people about it and it makes us realise how much we love reading, it’s a 5 star. We are pretty good at choosing books we are certain we will highly enjoy. Truth and courage.
