i've found my esp8266 over my books and installed the driver on my pc runned some code and went over to search for it's wifi module utility ( i simply forgot about the board's existence ) found your posts on varonis and remembered about your youtube channel and now i'm here, collecting more knowledge for my cybersecurity mental empire plus i'm happy because i really needed a motivation to go back to the cybersec area, and i've found it on this board thanks for the tutorials, man
@@deepmeyt hey man, I'm in Infosec and a CS qualification is rather broad, look at some industry certs like CompTIA to get alongside your CS course, it'll take many years to get into pen-testing and you should look at the OSCP as the gold standard, you get that cert, you're an elite pen-tester. Pentesters work in teams but you require a very deep knowledge of systems that only comes from years of experience. I'm a Security Analyst heading towards pen-testing, I'm 3-4 years in and getting my CISSP hopefully soon, if you wanna start in IT Security the CompTIA Security+ is a great place to start and a highly requested qualification.
@@deepmeyt if you wish to follow pen-testing and want to take the uni path, find a Digital forensics & ethical hacking degree. I don't think uni is the best and didn't go myself but this course is the best if you want to become a hacker, not many Unis offer it but the UK has a good few, hope this helps.
Please put the repo's link in description, this is the only thing that really matters (I know I can google it or read it on your website but it's more convenient) Great vid tho.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe as long as you don't deauth, just listen and wait, the eventual handshake is fine to capture and crack as long as you don't then use it.
I think you can only do what Pwnahgotchi's do. I cant remember the specifics but basically scan for networks and crack the WPA hashes but absolutely nothing beyond that.
Hey, I have another question about the Chicken man game. In which "hole" do I have to put the LEDs when I put the chicken on or are the leds even necessary. Otherwise the video helped a lot
Security is my biggest concern, and ever since I learned about Shodan, I was wondering if you can even find any of these devices via there, since a TLS Handshake is being broadcasted. I understand this is supposed to be a novelty o be used for a couple minutes and that's it and is more of a practice mechanism than an always-connected IoT device, but can these still broadcast via Shodan?
If i remember correctly, hidden networks dont really do much for security because the client (smartphone/laptop) is constantly btoadcasying.the SSID to connet to the hidden SSID, so doing a regular De-Auth on the device will snag you the handshake. Again from what I remember Since deauths tun off ESP8266 then yeah it's possible
After watching tons of your older videos I had to subscribe to this channel. Love how you explain everything very informative and easy to follow.

Whoa..is this a re-boot!?I swear this was the exact video, that got me into this Pentesting 🤔
It definitely was lol
Cs student here currently deciding between data scientist and pen testing. I'd like to know if pen testing is worth it
@J ok, i will delete it.. but why ?

Thanks now I compromised myself
Great idea Kody Thanks for putting those scripts together. I love these little ESP8266. It's great for learning and teaching.
You have an ACAB sticker on your laptop. So professional
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe as long as you don't deauth, just listen and wait, the eventual handshake is fine to capture and crack as long as you don't then use it.
As long as there is no deauth why is it illegal to log on to a network that is broadcasting ?

Thanks Man!!! i`ve busy this weekend!!

Cool...I'm using Ubuntu as well. I can learn some of your tricks now.
"practice wifi hacking legaly"
Me: practiced it on my neighbor's wifi :D
Other than the ESP8266 board and a micro USB cable to connect it to a computer, do you need anything else to make it work?
As always great video, inspiring curiosity, vitamin 4 brain
Thank you for the Awesome Vids..What about using a raspberry pi zero W or raspberry pi 3 instead of the pi 4??
Hey,
Could u introduce some of ur stickers ?(on the back of the laptop)

Is it possible to get names of hidden networks with esp8266?

@@uniquechannelnames then I think I need two of them..
@@TechnicalHeavenSM two hidden networks?
@@uniquechannelnames No.. I mean, they can't monitor packets and deauth at the same time (So I have read somewhere, not completely sure about this)
Can u make terminal bigger? It's so small. Or at least put the commands on the screen in a text.
The number of stickers your laptop has is directly correlated to your hacking level and that's a fact
cody, i m not trolling, i need help with linux, i couldnt add my usb c screen
How do I connect the board to my Raspberry Pi 4?
Could you do this with a esp32?
Dude can you please add BTC payment option in your website??????

@@notdiwash in the wifi software, Why is it called a hand shake?
Muito bom seus vídeos parabéns! 🇧🇷
nitpicking here, but sudo is pronounced like soo doo, meaning SUperuser DO
esp32 is better than esp8266 isn't it
Brilliant content, thanks.....
