Murmim (they/them) is my player character from Paradise-Rising, an rp group. If you want specific details of round to round plot, I would encourage you to check out the group’s page on DA and go from there, as this will be brief comparatively, and more murm centric. But, the essential premise is that it is a second gathering of cats seeking to awaken their souls with magic all cats have, in order to stop the end of their world. All cats have magical half souls, and learn the color and specific shade of their soul, and also who holds the other half, over the course of their journey. Murmim was born to the leaders of a cult essentially, who worshipped the antagonistic goddess of light through the moon, and who wanted to see the world end gloriously, for retribution. The group felt cheated out of righteousness when the first wave of awakened cats “saved” the world. They sent their child to sabotage the second wave as their chosen one, essentially, and Murmim went as told. But Murmim is nothing like their parents. They are a shivery and gentle and timid thing so desperate for love, having known none, and never commit to their parents wishes. They aren’t expecting to get into the trials at all, but they do. They awaken as a black soul (invisibility and shadow powers) and find their magic to most of take the shape of moths, and be filled with constellations that can protect, but not harm. They go on the long adventure with everyone else, pulled place to place by the gods and losing much, but in everything, Murmim never loses their kindness despite great violence and adversity. They try and the connect with others, leaving little gentle things in their wake. Their soul partner is Hoshi, the golden cat who’s name means star, and who has grown to be like family to them, and they discover the shared color of their soul to be Moon. The brown she-cat is named Cyrus, intended to mean sun, and she was the first cat Murmim ever met in the course of the rp, and the first cat to ever show them kindness. She was their first love in a lot of ways, but that love was not ever romantic! She died a little before the end of the rp. Over the course of things Murm also discovered their parents had another kitten back home after they left, but she was rescued away by a kind tom cat who adopted her, essentially. Her given name was Atlas but Murm visited her in a dream and gave her the name Winnie, which she goes by. Murmim is sort of defined by that- the idea that you can fall in love with anyone if you spend enough time looking to see what makes them special. That love doesn’t have to be romantic and one love is not greater than another in Murm’s eyes. They never had any growing up; they cherished all types that came, and tried to make cats in their life feel good and heard even if that’s not what they realized they were doing. Murm has died very near the end of the story now, which is smthn I’ve been planning for years, protecting their friends but never having lost who they are, and full of love. They will remain the moon in some in between sky now, tending to those cast adrift and seeing those they love in dreams. It’s been a real adventure! That’s about as much as I wanna ramble haha. Okay first I want to say how well you’ve been communicating all this- You got across a lot of the specifics about this very well already (Their relationship with Cyrus for instance). To see it all come to an end is bittersweet, but this is such a beautiful sendoff for an incredible character. Murm is such a tragic character; I haven't even been following their story until about ten minutes ago, but I feel so deeply for them. Seeing a story told via rp come full circle and get a conclusive ending is so beautiful. I'm glad you were able to capture that feeling, as well as their story, in this gorgeous video.

I am properly late but I just wanted to say how beautiful and moving this animatic in. In 7 minutes you had gotten me deeply invested in a story I hadn't even heard of until now. I had found Paradise Rising through this animatic and it pains me that I couldn't be there to watch it happening while it was active, but just reading over what I can find I truly believe you and everyone else who took part had created something truly astonishing. Genuinely this is probably my favourite animation online I have seen so far with how you were able to capture your characters entire journey and development as intimately as you did ( and i have a bit of hadestown brainrot so bonus points there ) but REGARDLESS I hope that you know you are truly a remarkable storyteller & animator and I hope you are doing well in wherever life has led you :]
