Good list though it should be retitled “10 Most memorable/important dunks in NBA history”. Some of the top dunks are playoff dunks which give them more importance.
I mean, the VC double clutch reverse is great but that doesn't even come close to the top 10 of VCs own dunks. I mean where's the Dunk on Alonzo? The 1 hand Alley Oop vs Clippers? The countless FULL windmill alley oops? Reverse Alley Oop at the buzzer vs raptors? Cmon WatchMojo....
I mean, VC is the greatest dunker of all time, but which of the top 3 would you take out? Its at least arguable that they got the top 3 right. They're pretty iconic.
The fact that the Deandre Jordan crushing of Brandon Knight is honorable mention is insane to me. He literally made that moment what everyone knows brandon knight for
That Kobe dunk was better than most of the list. Not to mention his dunk on Yao and when he threw it down on the 2 Brooklyn big men, whatever their names were.
@@LeviBulger Kobe didn't get as high as some of the others, but his in game dunks were violent. That reverse windmill against Minnesota, and repeated again verses the Knicks was crazy
Disagree about DJ, im with you on Giannis. Dj is so much bigger than Knight and the pass from CP is so good, that makes no sense to me that everyone has the dunk on a pedestal. I mean is it beautiful? Yes. But the degree of difficulty is - literally - 0. If Giannis or Lebron had prime-CP3 to throw them oops, they would have 2-3 dunks like that every game.
Honestly, that Kobe behind the back 360 dunk still gets me hyped every time I see it. A lot of in game dunkers are power dunkers, but Kobe was finesse.
The thing that was great about Wade's dunk was that he kind of slows up like he's going to shoot a floater or pass out to a teammate, lulling Varejao to sleep. Then he absolutely explodes out of nowhere. I watched it live and it was pretty incredible, really unexpected.
The real beauty of The Doctor's 'Rock the Baby' move is that he wasn't showing off. Michael Cooper was an excellent defensive player, and he was in position for a possible block if Doc had gone up for a conventional slam. The purpose of pulling the ball back first on the way up was to disrupt Cooper's timing, so that he was past the point where he could make a play by the time the ball was slammed home. Poetry in motion for a very practical reason! It don't get much better than that in any sport!
this list is pretty solid, but no honorable mention for Daryl Dawkins? Gerald Green? Clyde Drexler? also, that VC dunk was good but the one on Zo you showed was way, way better
I'm surprised that Kobe only has an honorable mention to his name on this list; he was definitely an EXTREMELY talented & high-flying dunker during his career, especially before his injuries and when his usage percentage & minutes per game were at their highest.
Now we need the Top 10 College Basketball Dunks. I may be bias, but Trent Forrest’s poster on Jordan Nwora in FSU vs Louisville’s matchup on February 24, 2020 was one of the greatest dunks I’ve ever seen, and it should make that list. Not only did he posterize the ACC Player of the Year, but it brought the crowd to a frenzy. So much so, that my ears starting ringing it was so loud.
My favorite basketball player of all time is Michael Jordan aka god in disguise. My favorite dunk is Jordan on Ewing, I can't argue with this list. Great job mojo as always.
I've always liked Jordan's dunk on Dikembe Mutombo and then right after the dunk Jordan did what Mutombo always did: wagged his finger at him. Jordan got a technical foul for it but it was worth it.
This is mostly old-school and pre-2010 dunks, which arguably become more iconic with time. I think a more current list would at least include Giannis' dunk over Tim Hardaway.
Well alright then, I was about to lose my mind if I didn't see Kemp's dunk on the list. I remember recording the highlight of that game the night it happened.
That DeAndre Jordan dunk is the nastiest of all time in my book. And the Griffin maybe had 3 in the top 10 of all time. That lob city era Clippers produced some incredible dunks.
All of these guys were great dunkers even the honorable mentions especially the honorable mentions. But I'm from Oregon and I have lived in Portland for 20 years where in the heck is Clyde The Glide Drexler

Edit: never mind I think they already have one
lebron james
Michael Air Jordan
blake griffin
Shaqtus
Is just me or is most of the honourable mention dunks better than the actual list
Fakts bro they didn't put any thought into this list
They didn't even bothered by Giannis on Tim Hardaway Jr.
Good list though it should be retitled “10 Most memorable/important dunks in NBA history”. Some of the top dunks are playoff dunks which give them more importance.
That Kobe 360 dunk is, hands down the best in-game dunk in the history of basketball.
The blake Griffin kobe and DJs dunk should be in
Imma let you finish, but VC's greatest dunk of all time in the NBA was the facial on Alonzo Mourning from 05-06
YES!! He murdered Alonzo and had his family Mourning...
Sorry but no his greatest dunk from vince and of all time is when he jumped over the guy in the USA game
@@BillyBobThot That was Vince's greatest dunk and maybe the greatest in game dunk of all time! But he did say "In the NBA"
YES!!!
Facts and I'm a heat fan
The fact that vince carter not even in the top 3 tells you everything you need to know about this list

You'd think a Canadian based channel would put him in the top 3
You just saved me from wasting time watching this, thank you
The fact that the Deandre Jordan crushing of Brandon Knight is honorable mention is insane to me. He literally made that moment what everyone knows brandon knight for
That and getting dropped by Kyrie. Dude is always on the floor for the wrong reasons lmao
@@arkadiuszrogala1359 also tore his Achilles in a game. Worst luck ever
Watchmojo is complete dogshit for sports.... Don't fret my dude
It’s also the #1 dunk of the decade it was in rated by the NBA
@@canataloupe_814 I’m biased. I have Baron Davis#1 because of his size and elevation over AK 47!!
Shaq's dunk on Dudley was so disrespectful and I loved every second of it.
Dudley chucking the ball afterwards just added to the greatness and hilariousness of the whole affair.
@@chambeet facts homie
D-Rose over Dragic? Not even mention? Really or Giannis dunking and clearing up Tim 6'6 Hardaway Jr
As a Knicks fan I hate that I love that dunk 😂
I WANNA GO HIGHER!!!
And he doesn't mention LeBron dunking over Lucas
Another great bulls dunk. Was Taj over Wade in the 2011 conference finals. That one was NASTY
Damn that should of been of the list
Vince Carter could be the whole list even without the Olympic dunk lol
That Kobe dunk was better than most of the list. Not to mention his dunk on Yao and when he threw it down on the 2 Brooklyn big men, whatever their names were.
His preseason dunk also. It was absolutely brutal. And he was a rookie. I also remember nasty dunks on Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. Kobe was unreal.
@@LeviBulger Kobe didn't get as high as some of the others, but his in game dunks were violent. That reverse windmill against Minnesota, and repeated again verses the Knicks was crazy
@@samdiaz7074 For sure. Can you imagine him as a younger in today's soft league? He would destroy everyone.

That dunk from Smith 2nd in the intro and the DeAndre Jordan Dunk are my favourites.
Shawn kemp on alton lister is my favorite dunks ever.i was a huge Seattle supersonic fan back in the 1990s.word up son
I have the Kemp dunk as #1 of all time.
Kevin Johnson dunk on hakeem olajowon 1994 nba playoffs amazing dunk.word up son
I was watching that game Live in the UK, could not believe it. I'm sure he was only 6'1
Exactly!!!
Yes. This one always comes to mind when I think of greatest dunks. Hakeem is a great defender but Johnson was a man possessed!
The Balls to the face dunk Griffin did over Mozgov, Gianiss jumping over Tim Hardaway jr. completely ,also great dunks.
So no Anthony Edwards or Giannis dunking over Hardaway😔
Honestly, that Kobe behind the back 360 dunk still gets me hyped every time I see it. A lot of in game dunkers are power dunkers, but Kobe was finesse.
"The Dunk". When John Starks dunked on Jordan. 🙏🏽
Thats Aaron Gordon dunk over the mascot will 4ever be the best Dunk contest Dunk I have seen
living in the Chicago area during this era was AMAZING!!!
What about Paul George's 360 windmill slam. It was not contested but was impressive AF
The Number 1# is Amazing, Good video
5:29 An absolute classic.
agreed!
You can say that again. That has to be one of the most disrespectful plays in NBA history.
The narrators are half of what makes these awesome!
The thing that was great about Wade's dunk was that he kind of slows up like he's going to shoot a floater or pass out to a teammate, lulling Varejao to sleep. Then he absolutely explodes out of nowhere. I watched it live and it was pretty incredible, really unexpected.

Kobe's behind the back dunk broke my mind
Kobe’s dunk on Gerald Wallace should have been on this list
Fantastic list! So happy you put the Doctor at #1.
this list is pretty solid, but no honorable mention for Daryl Dawkins? Gerald Green? Clyde Drexler? also, that VC dunk was good but the one on Zo you showed was way, way better
Amen on Clyde! Drexler got almost as much hang time as MJ himself! But he's always snubbed.
Drexler dunk from just inside the free throw line.
Good list just wish Kobe’s dunk on Dwight made the list
The water boys podcast is nice I like it
I'm surprised that Kobe only has an honorable mention to his name on this list; he was definitely an EXTREMELY talented & high-flying dunker during his career, especially before his injuries and when his usage percentage & minutes per game were at their highest.
Wade on Varejao, end of discussion
The answer Allen Iverson was and still is my favorite player ever. We def need more sports 10 tens !!!

Watchmojo actually got a guy who knows about sports.
Congratulations 👏🏾 I can finally say Watchmojo got one soo wrong🤣🤣
Great list for ICONIC dunks tho...
2 Words......Gerald Green😫
How about Kobe's dunk in Brooklyn?
Although I don't necessarily agree with the list, it was really well put together. The fact they gave the dunks context made it good
This list is wrong. Feels like it was made by people who don’t fully watch/follow NBA basketball.
Here before 1mil
I've always liked Jordan's dunk on Dikembe Mutombo and then right after the dunk Jordan did what Mutombo always did: wagged his finger at him. Jordan got a technical foul for it but it was worth it.
Vince Carter is the greatest dunker of all-time. Nobody even comes close.
Dunks are the most beautiful thing in sports... change my mind
They are beauties..
Thanks for putting the Tom Chambers dunk in. It was one of the greatest ever!
The Green dunk at the beginning should have been on the list, but good stuff!
Totaly agree.
Dr J, its the most Beautiful, Stylish, skilled dunk in Basketball history.
Vince Carter is THE #1 BEST dunker in NBA history, so HE'D ALWAYS pull of the BEST dunks. This is NOT even a debate.

Wow what a list. Even the honorable mentions
Not a big 🏀 fan like that but No.3 is probably the best thing I've ever seen on watch mojo.
I’d love to see Jim Ross doing commentary on this.
Thank you for recognizing greatness with Dr. J on Michael Cooper! Can you do a "Part II" and add: MJ on Dikembe and the John Starks dunk??
no Kobe on top1 🥺. Kobe on gerald wallace & humphries 🙌
You can literally make a top list of VC and Kemp Dunks
DeAndre Jordan should be on the list not an honorable mention. Good overall list tho
Crazy cool
No doubt about number 1. That was the most electrifying in game dunk ever!!!
young shaq on robinson, paul george on birdman, terrence ross pulling it back, jamal murray after whistle facial. just a few great ones
The fact that Westbrook and drose aren’t even considered is egregious
Hate it or love it Venus Carter is the number 1 in dunking history🏆
The way VC dose his one-handed 360 tomahawk is pure art in motion. My favorite by far.
That Gerald Green dunk is the most electrifying in game dunk I have ever seen!
