Bird at 3:15 is actually a Ruby-crowned Kinglet (however we did hear Orange-crowned Warbler all day so the total still stands). Bird at 10:57 is supposed to be labeled Mountain Chickadee. This is what I get for staying up until 3:30am editing this video 😂
Yes I competed and saw 148 species (excluding introduced species like ring-necked pheasent, canada goose and egyptian goose as we dont count them in the netherlands). There will be a video about that big day 😊
I participated in the Global Big Day as a bird counter for my job in Illinois, just south of Chicago! Chicago is a great spot for birds and migrants being right along the Mississippi Flyway. I was birding only from 8:00-4:00 and only at one site, but I got 81 species for the day!
Great video! I did a big day at a local hotspot in Atlanta and got 65 species. Also, I hate to be the one to say it but... the bird at 3:20 might be a kinglet. It seems to have a white eyering, shorter tail, longer primary projection, blunter bill and at least one white wingbar.
That's an awesome total! Sound like a fun day! Yep you're right haha. Good eye! I pinned a comment a few minutes ago clarifying a few mistakes throughout the video. Thanks for letting me know!
@@brighteyedbirding Oh, I didn't even see the comment, sorry about that! I think it didn't show up because I hadn't reloaded the page since the comment was made.
I only birded one park for 3 hrs. in the morning because it was getting very hot. I got 43 species with Lazuli Bunting as a new yr. bird. added 3 ore day birds at home for 46.

What a day.
Good call Hawkin for not stopping to let Jordan film a killdeer in a parking lot. No time for that on World Big Day!
Haha I thought he had already filmed one!

The American Robin is also a common bird in California. We have the Cinerious Tit in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR, Spotted Dove, and the Oriental Magpie.
Very cool!!

I went to Farmington Bay and saw 55 species on my own by 10 AM.
That’s amazing! Farmington Bay has such a diverse set of birds!
I couldn’t do global big because of the stupid smoke
Sorry to hear that! You could always do your own on a different day when the smoke clears up.
@@brighteyedbirding that’s true’ it rained to day 🙏
