learning nct was so easy to me but i guess thats because i was already a huge fan of kpop and had my way of memorizing a groups members 😭 if you go by unit, getting to know them better and knowing all there names will be much easier. I suggest watching individual guides for each unit since that breaks it down easier
it is easy actually, it's czennies ourselves who likes to show exclusivism by making these types of confusing "intro to NCT" videos, to show "how complex and distinct our concept is compared to other groups" that made it hard for non-nctzens or non-kpop fans in general to understand. Gah i wish we'd just make a simpler video to get more people understand and interested to the group as a whole.
For me it was the EXO-L to Carat to NCT pipeline 😅 gradually stanning larger groups that the ones before made it easier for me, and now I remember and recognise all 26 members (+ The Riize boys, bc of the connections most of their members have to NCT. I got invested on Eunseok and Seunghan (and Shohei 😢) and went into Riize when their debut was announced).
nct was my introduction to kpop and it really wasnt that hard for me tbh. i learned all the members in a few weeks, but ur so right bc going by units seriously made it so much easier😭 i was reallyyy obsessed tho like nct was the only thing i watched for a few months straight so maybe thats why i caught on so fast lmaoo
20:11 My advice to you is just don't think too deeply about it, just go with something and you'll see yourself knowing the members, the songs and everything. I swear i was hesitating alot bfr getting into nct but i noticed that it actually isn't that big of a deal 😭
THIS!!! back in 2019 i just started watching their music videos and some funny content and within two weeks i knew all of the members. it just pops right into our minds
so true! i used to hesitate too but once i got to know nct127 within 2 weeks i could recognize all the members from the other units..if you overthink about it and also approach the group as a whole unit it becomes overwhelming
Nct "It's awkward but it's Ok" is a hilarious show you should definitely check out this show is about( since nct has so many members so it's pretty normal that not all members can be close) two members that hardly or rarely interact each other are put in this show, so that they can be close again, but since those videos are 3 years old it might be that some members have gotten close by now. Funny compilation videos to know nct better . Ranking all nct members through chaotic level . Games that almost ruined nct friendship . Nct 127 are competitive and its scary . Wish you had a friendship like Mark and Johnny . Nct Johnny suh being iconic . Nct once said it in English ( this video creator is very creative the creator put random clips and joined together that it seems like a ongoing conversation)
The whole China vs Korea tension is a thing and it was particularly bad around 2018/2019 when WayV was preparing for debut and actively trying to enter the Chinese market. There was a time where China essentially put a ban on Korean things. Like, there was a point where people couldn't speak Korean, say the work "idol" or mention Korea on Chinese broadcast. So I believe SM entertainment took the NCT away from the Chinese unit's name and created a sublabel "Label V" in order to make promoting and marketing them in China a bit easier even though they were technically a sub-unit of a K-pop group and trained/produced/promoted by a Korean Company. In WayV's debut days, they seemed to try really hard to hide the fact that they were a Korean produced group who were based in Korea. Like the WayV members didn't interact with the other NCT members and all the content they released, the spoke in Mandarin Chinese or English. Thankfully the situation between the two countries have improved over the past few years so the members could interact more and openly.
Exactly this! I hope he reads this and understands there was a reason for it. Even if as the guide says (and the creator of this guide is clearly very anti-SM) it was an excuse to cover their xenophobic tendencies, it ended up working in favour of WayV's marketing
26:05 So, in kpop, there's "title tracks" basically, the song with a music video, choreography, and full promotions on music shows. Every other song in the album is a "b-side". If a particular b-side is popular enough, it might get choreography and music show promotions too or a performance video. But, most b-sides of a group are usually unknown to non-fans, as you'll only hear them if you go out of your way to listen to the full album.
17:52 honestly speaking tho, they're not trying to be racist. The company has been debuting groups to focus more on certain markets like the Chinese market or Japanese, or even the US market. And usually, it's easier to go into the market when you have members coming from those countries, or at least speak the language. So they're not separating the wayv guys, they specifically chose the Chinese members to debut there. There's even a rumor that 2 or 3 korean members were originally supposed to be in WayV. But then the whole politics thing happened, and China banned all Korean entertainments and entertainers from entering the country, so that's why they cannot promote there under SM label, that's why they had to make their own label, it's just a cover basically.
It's not really that hard. It's like looking at each unit as it's own group. I always say that NCT is a brand and the units are groups under that brand. Hence members are able to show there individuality. When I got into NCT, I started with going through units one by one cause each unit is basically it's own thing. So it took me like a month to know nct. Experimental means a sound that is not conventional to the public eye. Example having the most random sounds in a song but surprisingly it works. Also 23:48 "How do they speak English?", i know you don't mean bad by saying that but just because they look asian, doesn't mean that they're asian and can only speak asian languages. NCT is a group with a varying nationalities as said in the guide. Members are from America, Canada, Japan, Germany and China. Some have also studied in America and the UK. Only 1/3 of nct as a whole is from Korea.
Just wanted to say that this is a great comment, but NCT doesn't have German members, Yangyang does speak German and lived there for a while but he was neither born nor raised, and has no citizenship, neither does he claim to be German. So there's no member "from" Germany.
28:21 SM has been one of the pioneers of kpop entertainment companies, starting in the 90s and creating the trainee system we know today, they debuted the 2nd ever kpop boy group H.O.T in 96, and the first ever kpop girl group S.E.S around the same time, tho I don't remember their debut year. Since then they've kept their place at the top and have had major hit groups and soloists in all kpop generations. Right now SM has BoA and Kangta (both soloists), plus TVXQ, Super Junior, SHINee, SNSD (aka Girls Generation), EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, aespa, SuperM, GOT the Beat and Riize. I'm not sure if F(x) are still under SM or if all members terminated their contracts already. Previously they had as mentioned H.O.T, S.E.S, The Grace and TraXx. I may be forgetting someone but I think that's all. SM idols are truly very talented and most of them have been long lived.
@@letsplayball0 Shotaro and Sungchan were placed into another group, and Lucas left. I went to check on Wikipedia cuz I couldn't remember Sungchan's name and it seems like they had a couple of more Japanese members joining in February. I actually haven't been following nct since 2021, so I have no idea what the situation is.
@@zuzu6864 Yeah with shotaro , sungchan and Lucas leveing NCT , they became 20 members, but this year NCT WISH debuted and they have 6 members , so NCT members are now 26😭
20:06 that's how they work in the kpop industry. The idols really *are* being controlled. They practically don't have much say until idk probably 5 years of experience, only then the company trust the guys enough to decide for themselves. It's cause the company invested sooo much into making just one group and they can't have the group's name be tarnished. For old kpop fans, we've seen so many groups or idols being slandered, mostly by koreans, to the point that their career ended. It's that rough in the kpop industry. Even so, i think groups under SM, which is a big agency, have so much more brighter future thatn smaller groups from smaller companies. Some groups don't even get paid until they disband. It is toxic though ngl. But yeah, that's the culture there
127 and Dream have dingo killing voices which is basically where they sing for 30 minutes snippets of songs from their discography, it’s the best way to get a feel for their discography. Also I hope the amount of members overwhelm you from listening to their music because they have the most diverse discography in all of kpop and have great music worth checking out. I’d start by getting to know each units music individually and perhaps getting to know the members? It’s just like getting to know 3 different groups so think of it as 3 different groups that collaborate sometimes
You don't need to be confused, just enjoy their incredible music n production. SM music has its own colour and standard. Never guess the beat and genre of their songs. Because they have their own originality and genre. Welcome to the NCT world..??!👏🏻🌱
23:46 they have members who are from America. Johnny (Chicago), Mark (Canadian + the one who’s talking at that time stamp). There are also other members who are fluent in English. Jaehyun because of his time living in America, Ten (Thai) who went to an international school in Thailand and spoke English a lot, and Yangyang (chinese but raised in Germany) speaks fluent English. ❤ *look at replies for showing specific members*
31:12 they did! As the guide mentioned the limitless expansion was confirmed to end with the debut of the Japanese team. The Japanese Team is called NCT WISH and they debuted this year, with their addition NCT now has 26 members total and that is the final number, 26 members and 6 subunits 💚
As he said, start with a unit and you'll naturally discover the other groups, since some members are in several groups (like Mark, who's in all except WayV 😄)
23:46 Mark (NCT127,Dream) he’s born in Canada Johnny (NCT127)he’s born in Chicago And Jaehyun (NCT 127) at the age of five he moved to Connecticut, US with his parents That’s why they fluent in English
22:53 basically, albums are generally composed of one title track and plural bsides. the title track is the « main » song of the album, the song that will get a MV and be promoted by the group on music shows and all, and the bsides are the other songs of the album, that are generally not promoted. some bsides also get promotions sometimes and some groups can have two title tracks within one album and they will promote both but it’s not the most common. 28:43 a hiatus is when a member stop promoting with his/her group. it can be for many reasons such as health issues but also allegations/rumors that could tarnish the group’s image or popularity. for the latter, the member is put on hiatus until the company investigates and decides what to do, but often the companies give no explanation or news for a very long time and leave fans in the dark, so it’s often an issue that makes fans angry at the company.
First up! Nct may all he in their own subunits BUT they are still one group, so they do actually know eachothers names, stuff abt e/o and they are all friends and get along well! They are much closer with the members within their own subunit, but they are not strangers to the other members not in their group :) I know this is all a lot to process, it is like that for everyone at first, but just slowly get into them one subunit at a time. Whatever subunit you choose to get into first I recommended watching content solely for that subunit and maybe even react to a introduction guide for that subunit only.
The members consider each other like brothers and family as they see them more and spend time with them the most compared to their families... I'm sure there are hard times but truly they love one another.
The video maker forgot to emphasize one important point: NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, (and the newest addition NCT Wish) are different groups that work on their own. Each group promotes by themselves. Only when needed, will they assemble as part of the whole NCT project.
As a fairly new Nctzen I totally get why someone would be intimidated to deep dive into Nct or whatever but it really isn’t as complicated as it seems. I think as long as your actually interested in getting to know the group (which it seems like you are considering ur watching a guide) it’s quite easy to learn their names or at least it was for me
10:33 It means that they are experimental with music, dance, and style, they mix things that don't "go together" and surprise you in a good way. sticker is the best example, is a song so fucking strange and even label as "noisy" but its such a bop
actually for nct 127 aka the most neo/experimental unit in nct as a whole is because their music is sounds experimental like some people would say their music is hard to like it if you only listen to it once, some people also said nct 127's music is noisy and weird but it's not if you listen to it few times and the "noisy and weird" music is their thing and in fact, only nct 127 can pull off that kind of music. some idols also find it hard to cover their songs because most of nct 127 songs only fit for them.
17:54 it's not racist because Asian is the race, and it includes Korean and Chinese people. The word you're looking for is xenophobic as the guide mentions. They're different things.
28:19 in korea are a lot of labels but there where a "big3" wich where sm, jyp and yg, this three have the most years in the industry (and its normal to have A LOT of artist under one agency, not just idols but actors or models too) now there is hybe (wich is one if not the one most famous or relevant) and so much more labels wich are being born
Not that hard to understand NCT: NCT has 26 members They all are in their own units most of the time and come together once a year or once every two years to release a collective album which includes songs from all the units + a song with all members. Basically the units are their own groups and they sometimes come together for a collective album. There are 6 units: - NCT U: rotational unit, we only see this unit usually in collective albums. The members in this unit always change depending on who fits the song/concept the best - NCT 127: 9 members - NCT dream: 7 members (2 members: Mark and Haechan are in both 127 and dream!!) - WayV: chinese unit, 6 members - NCT wish: debuted this year, japanese unit, 6 members - NCT dojaejung: special trio unit and those members are all from nct 127 The three members that left: - Shotaro and Sungchan: they were introduced in nct u in 2020 but are now in another group called Riize! - Lucas: was in wayv but was put in a break for 2 years due to horrible allegations and now he was "kicked" out and is not anymore in nct. And this is all you have to know, like it's not that hard tbh.
20:57 actually as they mentioned is that NCT LAB ia made for the members and got them freely be with members they want and write, produce, compose, etc... Also members like TAEYONG have their own Soundcloud. There is some non official songs released on there. Those songs mostly get released later on or stay on Soundcloud. Some songs were already a bit changed for his official solo debut. NCT LAB has solo songs but those aren't official solo debuts. Those are projects they want to share. . Plus I really enjoy their content. They are really fun. But one more thing there is one more unit NCT WISH the japanese sub unit that debuted this year with WISH. They already had pre debut releases with Hands Up, We Go and NASA. They are the last sub unit.
Some advice when getting into NCT is just take it slow and you can focus on the music at first while learning the members slowly. It isn't that complicated at all. The effort is really worth it to get to know this group. All the units are usually separate unless doing a full NCT group comeback. NCT 127 is known to have the most experimental sounds in their music. WayV is so underrated and have such amazing music. React to phantom, on my youth, turn back time. Lucas has had a solo debut with his song Renegade. NCT WISH has debuted in 2024 which is the last unit and the Japanese unit. The final total NCT members is 26. All the NCT members except NCT WISH are quite close and have a lot of interaction. NCT wish is not as close because they are much younger and new.
Well, just to introduce a bit to you to SM Ent, 1. they are 1 of the Big 3 companies (SM YG JYP; now big 4 with Big Hit/hybe) in the world of Kpop. SM is the 1st company to intoduce the training system (which is now used by all ent companies in korea) 2. SM ent is the home of legends from the 1st gen - to recent gen kpop groups: HOT, BOA (solo) S.E.S, Shinhwa, Fly to the sky (R&B duo), TVXQ(DBSK), Super Junior (the 1st kpop group that has more than 5 members, they have 13 members), Girls Generation, Shinee, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet, NCT (127, dream, wayv, dojaejung, wish), Super M Aespa, G.O.T , Riize 3. Due to the political issues with China, I say they are clever by making a subsidiary company for wayv, if not, they would not be able to promote in china. It's not racist, imo. But a way so the chinese members don't loose opportunity to do shows, individual projects in china. But still, there are pros n cons about it 4. They do know eachother, as most of them trained together before debut. The awkwardness is not because they don't know eachother, it's mostly due to age gap, and remember, in korean culture they have this culture about seniors-juniors especially when the seniors are already "big" in terms of very well known, the juniors would usually feel very awkward to talk to them n so on. Hope this helps a bit to know about SM ent. And yes, they are all over in the Kpop industry..
B-sides are songs that usually won’t recieve the same amount of promotion as a titletrack (which is the main song on an album that will get a music video and be performed on music shows). B-sides are usually songs on the album that are less well known due to this fact.
The neo vibe basically refers to out of the box beats and instrumentals that you won’t see any other groups use. They get a lot of hate for it but as nctzens, we know how addicting they can be if you truly like the group.
It is definitely true that not all members are as close as we’d wish, but that is why SM are giving them so many opportunities to grow closer and even made the whole show, revolving about the issue and making it fun. The only two members who seem to not have this issue is Mark and Haechan since they are both active in NCT 127 and Dream. Also: the newest unit NCT Tokyo recently debuted in 2024 and they have kind of taken over the cute and bright concept NCT Dream had during their debut since the TOKYO members are the new youngest members and NCT Dream are slowly ending their cute concept to more mature and darker songs like in their newest album. Hope this clears a few things up about their relationship issues and about the change in concepts
Experimental means like you had thought! They give them the weird concepts and songs but they make it work honestly 😅😅 it's the brand/concept of nct 127
7:26 usually, people like/stan one or two units. nct only really come together every once in a while, so people naturally gravitate towards the unit they like the most. of course there are ppl who like every unit, but people will usually have a favorite and like casually listen to the others. don't think of it as stanning one group bcuz its more like stanning 4 almost separate groups (127, dream, wayv, wish)
It's really not that confusing just think about it this way: NCT is a brand name, like Coca-Cola. 127 is Classic Coke, Dream is Diet Coke, WayV is Sprite, and the new unit Wish is Hi-C, when you go to a fountain pop machine and dispense all the different drinks in the same cup you get NCT U. And honestly that's all you need to know. You'll get the rest by watching content.
28:45 hiatus is a name to literally hide the idol from the public eye until everthing relax a little bit or to "think about what you did" but normally its just because the agency dont want to protect his artist and just decide to kick them out making them look like guilty, like they did with lucas and now want to do with seunghan of riize :((
10:46 what they meant by experimental is their music, the way it sounds. If you listen to some 127 songs the beats and concepts is very experimental. Overall their songs are very experimental
thanks so much for your reaction and trying to learn abt nct, it is overwhelming for me as well when the first time i started to get to know them deeply. I stand them bc their concepts are amazing and they are the only kpop group that has that kinda concepts. if you wanted to know abt them more you can check the part two of the guide where it introduce each members and their talents, and after that you can check on 'Killing Voice' of NCT 127 and NCT DREAM, after that you can check their dance practice videos, behind the recording of their songs or another content it's all on their TH-cam channel.
I love what you said about WayV. They are my favorite NCT unit and I literally love ALL their songs🥰 The whole thing was Lucas was so sad and man did he come for his haters with his solo "Renegade"! The 2 that went to the new boy group seam to be doing well. There are several members that speak English fluently. Mark is from Canada and Johnny is from Chicago USA- which is why they are soooooooooooooo very fluent lol. My favorites or bias for NCT is Ten, Lucas, Taeyong, and Jaehyun❤. Only 2 members in all of NCT are in 2 fixed sub-units: Mark and Hetchan(127 and Dream).
I would say with NCT. There was a point where I felt the same but the moment around 2 Baddies era where I just got into them and learned all of the members fast. It was pretty easy tbh. The only thing is that you just have to want to learn them and for a sec just focus on them. It took me a week...faster than SVT, SKZ, many other groups. Because I really enjoyed their stuff. The concept made me live them more but SM said no... But I hope you enjoy NCT WISH also.
You should deff react to their funny moments. Their insanely funny. Also i call Mark beyonce, because this guy...THIS GUY. Is INSANE. His rappong his dancing...hes deff one of the too idols in the industry and SMs golden card
For people wanting to get into NCT here is my guide to learning the units!! Think of it as a school. -NCT is the name of the school. In that school are 6 different classes - NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, DoJaeJung, and NCT Wish Each class has different members in them with a few exceptions.. Although each group is a K-Pop group, WayV is a global group (they sing in English/Korean/Chinese) and NCT Wish is a Japanese unit (they sing in Japanese/Korean) NCT U is the special class in this school. -NCT U. This “class” utilizes every member apart of NCT and puts them into a rotating unit. Meaning each song/album has a different style and the members that fit it the most will be the ones in it. I have a way of remembering the members in each “class”, but it’s best to start off by learning each of those groups first.
you are not wrong tho, SM are sooo sinophobic towards wayv like i dont get why they chase these boys down for years only to give them the worst years of their life and barely treat them like their artists
Stop whining, they are fine. They are very popular now and so what if they don't have 3 letters in front of their name? They are still NCT. Also no one knows what happened then maybe China did not like them having NCT in front of subgroup name. Do you think SM thought yeah sure let's waste money and create another label for them just for fun. SM is a company and wasting money is not their thing.
@@josef0009 what is you yapping about lmfao im a weishennie and I KNOW what i’m talking about. i’m not even saying they aren’t nct what are you on? everyobody knows about sm’s treatment towards wayv and yeah, they are starting to get more attention from people but let’s not deny the blatant sinophobia they have faced for years
it's kinda crazy how SM is both the most sinophobic yet least sinophobic of the big kpop idol companies (like does YG even have one chinese idol in their groups...? I don't follow YG as closely. and JYP's last female chinese idols were in Miss A.). SM debuts the most chinese idols and targets china the most, but they receive the most backlash. tbh china just seems too complicated with a lot of landmines (coming from someone whose parents are from china). wouldn't blame them if they focused elsewhere and concluded its more trouble than its worth
@@KY-jd1nl i agree but even tho if they focused elsewhere they barely gave them any promo outside korea after 2019. like most of the time is just thailand, jakarta and if they go to china (oh and their phanotm fm which wqas horrible for fans getting the city announcement literally a couple of days before de d-day). their only america stage is kcon LA in 2023, they debuted in 2019 and let's not forget that as a group they were almost 2 years in hiatus so yeah, they career hasn't been the best compared to other sm artists, inlcluding the rookie groups from sm or other nct units
@@xxmyj do we really want to go into why they were on "hiatus" for 2 years? I think we all know why, and it's not a simple situation to say the least. It seems like we're talking about two different things here - sinophobia and artist mistreatment. Theyre separate topics, as a remindr. Even if a group is being mistreated, it doesnt necessarily mean its coming from a xenophobic origin. I've simply been talking about sinophobia, and I would say just overall many countries in asia are sinophobic, including South Korea. Sinophobia isnt an SM thing. Its not even a Kpop thing. If anything, SM behavior is less sinophobic than their peers imo. They debuted Hangeng back when broadcasting stations had laws against foreigners on their stations. Theyre not perfect, but if anything theyre MORE progressive. You can scream at them for messing up all you want, but I see no concrete evidence for sinophobia. It'd be great if such a term wasnt thrown around lightly
Honestly with a group like NCT, its easier to get to know them a fixed unit at a time like NCT 127, NCt Dream, WayV... that way you're learning a few members at a time. Its a bit intimidating at first but its easier when you're not trying to remember 20+ faces at once. I think the concept of NCT, a group with infinite number of members who can be arranged to create infinite combinations of sounds/styles is brilliant and definitely unique in the Kpop world. But ultimately I think it ended up being harder to pull off than it sounds. I'm sure there's more to putting together a boy group than just throwing together 7 guys who can sing and dance and it seemed like SM wasn't adding new members or debuting new units as often as they planned so in the end, it wasn't that shocking that a lot of the plans for the group changed over time and they ultimately decided to end the infinite members concept.
23:45 by learning? Anybody can learn English and if they've been doing so for a couple of years the progress will be noticeable. On top of that the member speaking at this moment was born and raised in Canada, so English is his first language. When a kpop group has one or more members that speak English fluently (which is actually very common, it shouldn't surprise you to see Asian people speaking English in the first place) the rest begin to naturally pick it up, also oftentimes agencies will provide foreign language tutoring, as well as Korean classes for members that came from abroad. In NCT about 2/3 of the members aren't Korean, and each unit has at least one English speaker: Johnny, Mark and Jaehyun for 127, Mark again for Dream, Ten and Yangyang for WayV (and Xiaojun and Hendery have gotten very good at it too), Jaehyun again for DoJaeJung, and I'm not very familiar with the WISH members outside of their music, but I'd guess they can also speak English well.
honestly u need to just chill. You can easily understand the concept after u get used to it, it started with one unit for me and then u just naturally fall into the rabbit hole of nct. From an outside view I know it can look crazy but it is actually not really! There’s units with fixed members and sometimes they do projects where they all get mixed up. Yes there are obviously gonna be members closer than others( hence the awasz show)but i don’t think there’s any crazy drama like ur thinking. Like it’s a no brainer that they know the names of their group members. There are actually a lot of members from different units that are unexpectedly close and it’s really fun as a fan😄 Also the members do thankfully get to express their creative freedom as they have that “nct lab” project which is more member led and solos, plus some members write and produce. I recommend taeyongs Soundclou☺️ Anyways, nct have got AMAZING music and they are realy entertaining to Stan I think you’ll enjoy the next part on their personalities! Don’t stress too much, and there’s no pressure to get it straight away, just enjoy✅
honestly, taking it slow and just watching some of their content such as music and variety shows can help a lot and without noticing you learn their names. As for their music, nct u albums have multiple songs in which they put some members from each unit and make a song, so it is easier for the members shine in their own way (basically is not everyone in the song for nct u, just a few members).
u should read the vogue magz analogy once again. Its really helpful. Also once u started follow each unit, its gon be easier, like learning 3 different groups. also after nct 2020 project, the members are more like big fams.
4:50 if they were to just separate groups then it wouldn’t rlly be nct. Nct is known for being a group with a lot of members. 10:35 experimental meaning experimenting with different sounds in their music. 18:01 It s bc of china’s “hate” for korea and kpop. 20:57 they do have solo songs. I wouldn’t say they are more controlled than other kpop groups, especially bc they are able to do their own things. 23:50 nct has “many” different nationalities, there are members from America, Thailand, China, Korea, and Japan. I wouldn’t say they are all fluent in english, but being a kpop idol, learning english is essential. I think it’s safe to say all of them know a good amount of english, especially when there’s johnny n mark. There’s a member who knows 6 languages (i forgot who). I recommend watching their funny moments and johnny’s vlogs (jfam).
+ I learned some things i didn’t know before like the fandom names, even after being a fan for 3-4 yrs. This might seem like a lot but i promise it’s not that difficult. A lot of the things said in the video you don’t rlly have to mind or like have to remember . I just recommend remembering the members or the unit names, but ngl it took me a minute to remember evb names. Only bc i wasn’t rlly to determined to learn all their names.
Please do the personality video next! They are so funny, especially mark and Johnny! And at 10:40 yes they do the most unusual concepts or not normal beats in songs.
SM entertainment is arguably the first kpop company ever, and credited with founding the kpop trainee system. They've always been ambitious with targeting foreign markets and doing experimental projects. (also they low key suck at protecting their idols, and management has gone down hill a bit since their CEO and founder stepped down in 2020)
36:34 Basically Winwin (the one with the Cinderella costume) said he wanted his birthday party to be princess themed, and the other guys all adore him, so they went "What Winwin wants, Winwin gets" and went all out on the costumes lol, they filmed a whole thing as you can see and even did a dance practice for their song Bad Alive in the costumes, it was great 😂
Oh come on wayv deserves the best!!! They are amazingly multi-talented, they just released a new song in Korean "give me that" you should check it out! And I also recommend -poppin love -love talk -she's a wolf -phantom EVEN EVERYTHING, their work never fails, uhh I so hate the fact they debuted under a fucking agency
Either you had a typo or you really hate that they debuted under an agency? How else where they gonna do it? The Korean market isn't really kind to independent artists. Also for all that we bash SM it's not like there's any company over there that is a paradise to work at, there's always something to complain about, it's just how kpop is, even if smaller companies are more "flexible" with their groups and stuff still they lack promotion bc there just isn't enough money most of the times, and the Korean general public wouldn't really be interested in some small name 100% Chinese descent boy group. All in all I think they're doing well despite the obvious favouritism towards the other units.
I watched the same guide 1 year ago as i was curious about them and i was so confused and i stopped getting to know them but recently like a month ago i saw jaemin in smoothie challenge so i looked up about him and got to know he is in nct dream and there are only 7 members so i thought of getting to know them and now even though am new i dont feel anything confusing and naturally got to know everything even though i now like dream more its funny that recently doyoung iis making me feelthe same feeling i felt when i saw jaemin 😂 I regret not watching this whole guide 1 year ago
First time I got into NCT after hearing their song called cherry bomb and it was actually good and they have crazy dance skill, so I watching their entire MV, like boss, baby don't stop, and t7s, those make me immediately fell in love with NCT, they're amazing
It took me almost 2 years to learn ALL the names of the nct members (2020-2022) (also because I wasn't a nctzen) the thing is that now I have to learn the members of nct wish 😭, give me one more week and I'll even tell you their personalities
I was saying the same thing. Its hard to be close to so many ppl but to constantly swtith is crazy. But maybe its been so long since they also trained together predebut, maybe their all like family
I listened to their songs for a long time but it was only last year that I took time to learn about their concept and their names now I know everyone but NCT Wish the new sub unit. WayV the best for me.
Sauce, Thanks for the reaction. I js wanted To Request Part 2 But found out That its not even Out- Maybe you could find smth else to learn their personalitys and namses Also its the best if you react to a sub-unit first... I can Js Tell you that it may seem really hard to learn their names but if you get it then its easy. Trust me This group is one of the funniests and craziest Kpop groups ever. They also have such a Nice Relationship with eachother! Also Sm Of them are american and they can Speak english Perfectly. Can you Comment under My Comment and ask me the questions like again?".
SM now added a new sub unit called “NCT Wish” NCT as a whole are 26 members now
Wayv is the most underrated unit of the group but in terms of music discography its one the best
FR
Deadass
That is totally rightttttt
I think Nct Wish is more underrated sadly..
@@sooberris i dont know how their doing internationally but i heard their doing good in korea and japan
Lee Soo Man is genius for creating NCT U because it's the only solution for members to collab and be active after their unit members goes to military
learning nct was so easy to me but i guess thats because i was already a huge fan of kpop and had my way of memorizing a groups members 😭 if you go by unit, getting to know them better and knowing all there names will be much easier. I suggest watching individual guides for each unit since that breaks it down easier
Same 😂😂
I don't even stan them but I know the concept and every single member's name smh...
it is easy actually, it's czennies ourselves who likes to show exclusivism by making these types of confusing "intro to NCT" videos, to show "how complex and distinct our concept is compared to other groups" that made it hard for non-nctzens or non-kpop fans in general to understand.
@@Vinha._.A exactly!!
so true! i used to hesitate too but once i got to know nct127 within 2 weeks i could recognize all the members from the other units..if you overthink about it and also approach the group as a whole unit it becomes overwhelming
Funny compilation videos to know nct better
. Ranking all nct members through chaotic level
. Games that almost ruined nct friendship
. Nct 127 are competitive and its scary
. Wish you had a friendship like Mark and Johnny
. Nct Johnny suh being iconic
Sm is one of the big three companies it includes groups like NCT,AESPA, TVXQ, SUPER M,SHINEE,REDVELVET,RIIZE,
EXO,SNSD and many more
Up
and treats all them like absolute shit 😭😭
@laurainathunderstorm right, i kinda of mixed it up
28:21 SM has been one of the pioneers of kpop entertainment companies, starting in the 90s and creating the trainee system we know today, they debuted the 2nd ever kpop boy group H.O.T in 96, and the first ever kpop girl group S.E.S around the same time, tho I don't remember their debut year.

31:12 they did! As the guide mentioned the limitless expansion was confirmed to end with the debut of the Japanese team. The Japanese Team is called NCT WISH and they debuted this year, with their addition NCT now has 26 members total and that is the final number, 26 members and 6 subunits 💚

Nct dream has now have a very mature concept i would really recommend you to check out their album
SM is not taking over they always have been a power house, the put the foundation of kpop they are one of the big 3
They are much closer with the members within their own subunit, but they are not strangers to the other members not in their group :)
I know this is all a lot to process, it is like that for everyone at first, but just slowly get into them one subunit at a time.
I think as long as your actually interested in getting to know the group (which it seems like you are considering ur watching a guide) it’s quite easy to learn their names or at least it was for me
I definitely agree that not very member gets to shine in the group and few are treated very unfairly by the company mostly the foreign member
Dude I think you’ll really like WayV. Like Poppin love, lovetalk, miracle, action figure ,bad alive are straight 🔥
fr
poppin love is toooo good fr
Fr wayv dc is just so smooth groovy and sexy, it is impossible not to love them
For Nct 127 “experimental” as you seen kick it, they use material arts, and in sticker they use the “Wild West” concept
It’s good that everyone year the NCT units they get together, they don’t seem controlled that much 20:48
Not that hard to understand NCT:
NCT has 26 members
They all are in their own units most of the time and come together once a year or once every two years to release a collective album which includes songs from all the units + a song with all members.
Basically the units are their own groups and they sometimes come together for a collective album.
There are 6 units:
- NCT U: rotational unit, we only see this unit usually in collective albums. The members in this unit always change depending on who fits the song/concept the best
- NCT 127: 9 members
- NCT dream: 7 members (2 members: Mark and Haechan are in both 127 and dream!!)
- WayV: chinese unit, 6 members
- NCT wish: debuted this year, japanese unit, 6 members
- NCT dojaejung: special trio unit and those members are all from nct 127
The three members that left:
- Shotaro and Sungchan: they were introduced in nct u in 2020 but are now in another group called Riize!
It's not true that WayV are just cpop (or Mandapop actually). They're still kpop since they're NCT. they do release korean songs too.
25:54 any song that is not the title song in the album
Well, just to introduce a bit to you to SM Ent,
1. they are 1 of the Big 3 companies (SM YG JYP; now big 4 with Big Hit/hybe) in the world of Kpop. SM is the 1st company to intoduce the training system (which is now used by all ent companies in korea)
2. SM ent is the home of legends from the 1st gen - to recent gen kpop groups: HOT, BOA (solo) S.E.S, Shinhwa, Fly to the sky (R&B duo), TVXQ(DBSK), Super Junior (the 1st kpop group that has more than 5 members, they have 13 members), Girls Generation, Shinee, f(x), EXO, Red Velvet, NCT (127, dream, wayv, dojaejung, wish), Super M Aespa, G.O.T , Riize
3. Due to the political issues with China, I say they are clever by making a subsidiary company for wayv, if not, they would not be able to promote in china. It's not racist, imo. But a way so the chinese members don't loose opportunity to do shows, individual projects in china. But still, there are pros n cons about it
And yes, they are all over in the Kpop industry..
nopeee, now still big 3 not big 4 lmaoo...
@@MarkSwagger i know, i just wrote it to avoid things i want to avoid LoL
My fave groups nct for aure. After u do a deep dive u will deff see how insanely talented. Their chreos and vocals are insane.
B-sides are songs that usually won’t recieve the same amount of promotion as a titletrack (which is the main song on an album that will get a music video and be performed on music shows). B-sides are usually songs on the album that are less well known due to this fact.
lol do not worry about being confused 😂 As a multistan who’s been stanning a LOT of groups, stanning nct was one of the hardest things ever.
35:02 they do all know each other better now
The neo vibe basically refers to out of the box beats and instrumentals that you won’t see any other groups use. They get a lot of hate for it but as nctzens, we know how addicting they can be if you truly like the group.
tbh learning nct is way easier when you focus on one unit at a time. I never had trouble leanring them by dking it thst way.
The newest NCT unit is called NCT WISH, the Tokyo thing was just a working name that wasn't even official bc predebut they went by New Team.
Experimental means like you had thought! They give them the weird concepts and songs but they make it work honestly 😅😅 it's the brand/concept of nct 127
23:51 mark (the one speaking here) is canadian, johnny is american, jaehyun lived in the us so is fluent, ten, yangyang are fluent too.
7:26 usually, people like/stan one or two units. nct only really come together every once in a while, so people naturally gravitate towards the unit they like the most. of course there are ppl who like every unit, but people will usually have a favorite and like casually listen to the others. don't think of it as stanning one group bcuz its more like stanning 4 almost separate groups (127, dream, wayv, wish)
you said you werent going to get deep into NCT, and 30 min later you said you wanted to get deep into knowing them 😆, it happen to all of us!
It's really not that confusing just think about it this way:
NCT is a brand name, like Coca-Cola.
7:29 I’d say to just focus on 1 sub-unit for a while until you’re ready to go to the next. Take it step by step
25:57 b-side is a term to refer to a song wich is not the main of the album
Oh, and SM entertainment was the first entertainment company to start creating K-pop groups with H.O.T.( High five of teenagers).
😂😂😂
Watching you ask questions and find the answers yourself is so funnyyyy
you yap a lot and i love that cos this was me getting into NCT last year.
In that school are 6 different classes
- NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV, DoJaeJung, and NCT Wish
Each class has different members in them with a few exceptions..
Although each group is a K-Pop group, WayV is a global group (they sing in English/Korean/Chinese) and NCT Wish is a Japanese unit (they sing in Japanese/Korean)
NCT U is the special class in this school.
10:40
😂
Accurate. 127 is the group to test crazy song and beat concepts😅💔
They can pull off anything
BTW idk if someone already explained but Hiatus is like taking a break from the idol life
Wayv its my favorite unit.
They are so underrated.
And they have the best discography
honestly u need to just chill. There are actually a lot of members from different units that are unexpectedly close and it’s really fun as a fan😄
Also the members do thankfully get to express their creative freedom as they have that “nct lab” project which is more member led and solos, plus some members write and produce. I recommend taeyongs Soundclou☺️
Anyways, nct have got AMAZING music and they are realy entertaining to Stan I think you’ll enjoy the next part on their personalities!
And I also recommend
-poppin love
-love talk
-she's a wolf
-phantom
EVEN EVERYTHING, their work never fails, uhh I so hate the fact they debuted under a fucking agency
give me that has a korean version (which is more promoted than the original) but it’s originally in chinese
29:46 well they got used to it it’s been 8 years so I don’t think they are against the idea, if they have would’ve been done
Legit as a casual NCT listener and WayV enthusiasts I didn't even think they were mildly related 😂
"how he is so good at english?" my boy is canadian 🥴
First time I got into NCT after hearing their song called cherry bomb and it was actually good and they have crazy dance skill, so I watching their entire MV, like boss, baby don't stop, and t7s, those make me immediately fell in love with NCT, they're amazing
Lmao your reactions are so funny. I hope we get the reactions to next part of this guide lol
You are absolutely right about wayv 🙏😔
what u said on 20:40 is so on-point i could not agree more
I have to say SM modified 48 Group's idea into their own way. but the same thing is they expand, (or used to for NCT), to promote around the world.
18:08 ur def not wrong for saying that lmao SM is one of the most racist company I know lmao
28:42 I literally went "BRUH"😂
It took me almost 2 years to learn ALL the names of the nct members (2020-2022) (also because I wasn't a nctzen) the thing is that now I have to learn the members of nct wish 😭, give me one more week and I'll even tell you their personalities
btw who ur bias in nct wishh haha
@@MarkSwagger for now is Yushi!
ik this was awhile ago but all of nct subunits are always talking to eachother so they arnt really separate that much
I was saying the same thing.
WayV the best for me.
in that video there is 23 but 3 left leaving us with 20 then we got another subunit called nct wish making there now be 26 members in total!
Just wait until you meet TripleS
bro, wish u lucky!!!!!! really liked u and ur video btw, hope u like the neoworld (sorry about the grammatical mistakes, I’m learning english)
Nct is basically a cult 😂💚😉
You're complicating everything so much omg lmao
If you’re chocked by NCT you should look for TripleS they’re 24 members in one group and have almost the same system as NCT!
Wayv is so underrated
Sauce, Thanks for the reaction.
I js wanted To Request Part 2 But found out That its not even Out- Maybe you could find smth else to learn their personalitys and namses Also its the best if you react to a sub-unit first... I can Js Tell you that it may seem really hard to learn their names but if you get it then its easy. Trust me This group is one of the funniests and craziest Kpop groups ever. They also have such a Nice Relationship with eachother! Also Sm Of them are american and they can Speak english Perfectly.
