We have used Cardo headsets for a few years and upgraded to the freecom version last summer, a few tips that I have learned are to make sure not to lose the charging cable they come with because you need that particular one for updates, upgrading to the best speakers they have made the music better and if you’re a bigger guy when you turn your head you can inadvertently turn the volume wheel with your shoulder. Aside from that we love the system
Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the great review. Just purchased the duo pack with my GF who recently started riding so we can finally communicate on the road. Definitely looking forward to trying them out next week when they arrive and hoping it's as good as we hear!
Hope you enjoy them. It took a little bit to get the right settings for us, but it was a great purchase for us. Let us know what you think of them. Be safe!
I carry a little portable battery power pack and just charge it during a lunch stop. Works like a charm when you do some big riding days. I actually took apart some Skull Candy over ear headphones and pulled the speakers out of the headphones. Then i used silicone to seal them up. I use a Shoei full face helmet and the volume/sound level is much improved over the JBL speakers. I did met a guy who used high end snowboard helmet speakers which is a way cheaper option if you are riding on your own and don't want to use the inter communication functions. These Units are great if you use a bunch of different helmets you just buy the docking/cradle and move the main unit from helmet to helmet.
Great tips! Thanks for sharing with everyone!
Any tips on how to reduce wind noise from my wife’s mic (passenger)? I hear wind noise when we are using the intercom.
We wear modular full face helmets. When they are closed, the wind is blocked pretty well. Face shields down helps as well, until it gets too hot. Have you found any tricks?
One point we are installing the sound stream V2 which is capable with Cardo
That’s great! Let us know how that goes!
I love em. Its the first time I could hear my wife talk lol. I wear hearing aids now with JBL speakers a lot better. Now I m waiting on the V2. Will be doing a video on it with cardo. Ride safe
Awesome! Look forward to seeing it!
Roger. TH-cam channel is under my name or mrclean28h
You forgot to mention that going wireless will make your infotainment unit in the bike obsolete
That is correct. We pretty much just use it for the GPS now.
How do you find the sound quality when wearing protective ear plugs?
We don’t wear ear plugs. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😀
@@twowheelbuckeyeswhat??? lol.
@@tdz69 harley guys aint the smartest
@juicebox9742 most of my riding friends don't either, I think only 1 does so all the rest of em except for her and I are gonna get bad tinnitus. I don't get why more riders don't wear them.
When you speak, do you hear your own voice through the speakers as well as the other rider?
I don’t think your voice comes through in your headset the way it did with our wired version. But I can still hear myself talking.
@@twowheelbuckeyes Thank you
Is there a delay when talking?
Yes, but it only a partial of a second. It’s not noticeable for us.
Thanks for the review! Does the volume get loud enough for highway use and music/talk?
Most definitely. I have had to turn it down a few times. Hope the review helps!
@@twowheelbuckeyes great thanks for the quick reply and thanks for the review again it's been helpful
You’re very welcome!
Do you wear ear plugs while riding?
We do not. Do you?
100% of the time. If I have good ear plugs in, the cardo is not loud enough. The science of hearing loss means that even if you have a bike with regular pipes, (which I don't) you're still doing damage from the wind. I don't say that comment for you, I say that for people who read this and don't know this. My first year of riding, I didn't wear plugs. Now I can't hear anything. Some people are sensitive to it more than others also. I'm one of those sensitive types. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
Good to know. Thanks for bringing this up!
@@Matt_Dylan have you tried a tone grabber to increase the Max volume of your phone to increase the overall volume? I had been using a cheap Amazon unit before buying cardo and did that with ear plugs and it helps. I have tinnitus in my left ear so I always wear ear plugs.
I do not ride without ear plugs. I have no issue listening to music at highway speeds on low volume. What I did not know was I needed to not just have the Cardo app installed, it needs to be open. Ditto if you use a Garmin gps. A lot to learn.
Awesome we switched last year to them.
Very cool. What do you think of them?
Im a little late😅
How is the music quality?
Thats the most important thing for me
I think the music sounds great!
