Its a black acrylic marker. Posca paint pens are similar
Thanks Ray. This looks like a design for a gift wrapping paper. Cant keep up with your countless amazing paintings. Did you gesso the canvas before you start adding the colours? If yes, do i need to wait till gesso dries? 👍
These canvases are already preprimed, if you do use gesso then you will need to let it dry before painting

That's why it's called abstract
@@stephaniesimons2726 understandably. But my mind works different than others. I can't explain how but the painting doesn't make sense to me, abstract or not.
Lauren Smith I love the colors, the layers and depth, the play on light...and there's movement. I loved when he removed the tape and really created a foreground and backlight...so cool. If anything, to me these abstracts are pleasant and ethereal...Whatever this is to anyone, personally I enjoyed watching his process and I learn from him. I find artists like him very generous in sharing their techniques. I bet he loves that you're trying to figure it out 🙃 A good painting is one that makes you think about it. And to quote a fav, "it isn't what you're looking at, it's what you see..." (Thoreau). Warm regards 💜💙💜
