My grandfather was born in 1934 and this was his scent.. I got my own bottle bc it reminds me of him. One of my favorite mens cologne by far.

I wore this from HS trough college in the 80’s. Aramis was huge , they used to have their own section in Macys , they made everything from shower gels , body lotion , soaps , aftershave, balms , pre electric shave , muscle soak, deodorant , lol. Haven’t tried it in years, might have to get a bottle for nostalgia

Aramis reminds me of my dad. When I was little, he used to come in the door, set down his leather briefcase, still in his suit and pick me up and carry me around. He always smelled so strong of this scent. Growing up, it's what I associated with what a man should smell like. It's actually what got me on a vintage cologne kick.
I have never seen a frosted bottle. But I will tell you that it is a man's man scent but it will drive any woman wild! Oh my gosh, that does not go out of style IMO. My brother who was a stylish , drop dead handsome man wore this. That scent carries forever, this my go to still for a gift for a man that is for husband or bf. My girl friends would go wild over my brother, it will still be on the phone after he used it 2 weeks later. You hit the nail on the head with your description! It's a must have for a man.
Finally someone who could explain how it smells. I'm interested in picking up a bottle within the next week
All I got out of Aramis was the scent of Big Red cinnamon gum. I just bought a 3.4 ounce bottle, now I have to figure out what to do with it, cause it's definitely not going back on my skin. It smells good for air freshener, but not a classic masculine fragrance in my eyes.
I am 65 already. I was a child when that fragrance came out. I do not remember if the original glass was frosted or clear. I can not help you with that. But remember the "juice" a bit darker. There was one of the salesman that worked for my dad, that wore that fragrance, and that is how I got to know Aramis. But the Aramis I remember was a "beast mode" fragrance that lasted the whole day, and you couldn't smell it placing the paper so close to your nose. May be this is a newer version that is not so potent. It was nice to see that it retails so cheap. Thanks for the video!

I’m 38 and I love this scent. I’m more inclined to like super masculine smelling fragrances like this one. My favorite house is Zaharoff and his fragrances are modern takes on classy style scents like this one. I bought a reformulated bottle and while it’s still probably the same scent but it’s like the reformulation is more modernized. I still smell niche fragrances that were recently released that still smell like this. So it’s still not really outdated. Just a good classy masculine fragrance.
One of their TV ads from years ago had the best-ever description of flagship Aramis: “for the established man.” A lady reviewer on another channel said “Dad scent? Yes, if your dad has been a total badass his entire life, from being in a band in high school to being a badass in the boardroom today.”

Great video! As an older gent of 60, I still like to keep up to date on fragrances. Through the years (and I mean about 40) I have kept Bernard Chant's / Estee Lauder's Aramis in my collection. Glad to see someone giving Aramis a little love. Definitely one of my all-time favorite fragrances. However, I would like to know which modern fragrances compare. Keep up the good work. Liked and subscribed.
The original bottle is definitely clear. I thought of it as soon as you pulled it from the box.
I have seen Aramis for years and I’ve always wondered what it smelled like (same with Paul Sebastian). I knew it was older, I knew it was a classic. It sounds like something I would like because I love professional classy fragrances (because I like to wear suit/tie, polo shirt/khakis, etc).
That is a fantastic price for it. Sounds like a great addition. I’ll have to check it out for sure now.

Paul Sebastian smells really spicy, old school rose and cinnamon vibe. Kind of barber shop scent. Really nice during winter.
I just bought this fragrance like 5min ago, a man who works in the same building as mine always was curious his smell , definitely left the smell in elevator and i knew he had just been in the elevator by its unique amazing smell. I saw him today and i finally got the courage to ask him what cologne he used and he told me Aramis and that i could buy it online so i just did, The one i bought is not the same as yours "concentree" i bought the Aramis Eau de Toilette Spray was $71 on Fragrance Outlet i did see Walmart sell the concentree for $19 not sure the difference from these two but i hope its the same as the guy who told me about this cologne. and gone give this to my dad for fathers day i hope he likes it! my dad is 67 years old so i hope this is up his alley , he tends to be picky for scents but i think this will fit him well!! loved your video review and all the positive comments on here really so excited to give this gift to my dad!
I'm a big fan of aromatic fougeres and woody chypres. Never tried Aramis, but I own Brut, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Drakkar Noir and Hugo Boss Man. Was thinking of pulling the trigger and trying Aramis. Should I?

Tremendous stream as always 👍👍 I have seen that frosted bottle in the past , but it’s still in a clear bottle. I got mine 1 year ago and it’s still clear and still very powerful and long lasting. I have it because it’s suck a timeless masterpiece. But I don’t really wear it often

I remember my dad having an aftershave called Echoes and I loved the smell in the 80s I ended up having the stuff and used it now and then right up until 1998 (it ran out) and got loads of good complements esp of women. It wasn't for years later I remembered this strange "Echoes" aftershave and could not find anything about it until by accident I found out it was made by a company which did knock-off of classics. So I managed to see what it was knocking off and it was the Original Aramis. so I got a bottle of the authentic (modern) version Aramis and I have to say yes it smells way better but the knock off was very very close to the smell which surprised me.

ARAMIS is been one of the fragrances I have worn a lot, this I could say is my second most favorite fragrance after QUORUM (my most beloved and used fragrance), ARAMIS's one of most iconic colognes for men, although it's been reformulated few times, still, it keeps its integrity and that macho and masculine direction; like its siblings, POLO(original green bottle), QUORUM, GIVENCHY GENTLEMAN(original 1974), BOGART(also called signature), POUR LUI(Oscar De La Renta), PIERRE CARDIN(original), PACO RABANNE(original) ............... all those fragrances are the real deal for the mature, sophisticated, masculine, conservative and hard character/personality men, simply they were created for the alpha male, metrosexual beings better keep away from these super masculine fragrances ............ they are for metrosexual boys like kryptonite is for superman.
I love Quorum! Bought some recently at Ross and it does smell differently than it did in the 80’s but still decent!

Yeah, unless you get a bach from early 90s as in those days, the formula was loaded with a lot of Oakmoss, treemos, tobacco and wood....I have 2 sets with those notes and believe me, QUORUM is powerful and super long lasting with a monstrous projection.....QUORUM is simply my chosen one among my favourites fragrances.
@@ROCKGRINDER12 thanks for the reply 👍🏼 I use to go into my cousin’s room in the early 80’s and spray some of this on. He was much older than me and it made me feel great….I was in early high school years and man did I smell good. The bottle is different but the main notes are still there. I work in an office and mainly wear safe colognes to work. I have not worn this to work yet. It would be like wearing Polo green (original)….it might clear the room! Haha

Polo (original green bottle 1978), was a powerful and strong fragrance back in the day, I had the good luck to get and wear it as my first fine and "expensive" cologne at the end of 1979 (I was 16 years old) and in the search for Pour Lui (Oscar De La Renta) in a fragrance shop I came across with Polo, the shop attended said to me that this was a supermacho and long-lasting fragrance and as they didn't have Pour Lui, then I purchased Polo instead .................... wow!!!!! that was the only expression I got the first time I wore it ............ I had never tried something so super masculine, pure men testosterones in a bottle; all my female and male friends were so curios asking me what was the name of that super macho and awesome fragrance I was wearing ............. I never told them ........... I kept them wondering but never they knew what it was; the same with Quorum that my first bottle I think I got it at the end of 1981 in a 50m Eau de toilette splash ............ and I just got hooked to it, since then I always keep it with me, never fail to have this awesome and great fragrance in my wardrobe.
as said in my comment above ........... YATAGAN, QUORUM, ARAMIS, GIVENCHY GENTLEMAN, AGUA BRAVA, POLO (green) and BOGART (signature) are my battle horses for the week.
if I have to choose just three fragrances, without a doubt, I will go for YATAGAN, QUORUM and AGUA BRAVA.
@@ROCKGRINDER12 I’ve not heard of YARAGAN or Agua Brava….sounds like I need to get a whiff soon. Regarding Polo Green, we had a guy on our floor in college (1985) that oversprayed Polo on a daily basis. It was my first time smelling this frag and I did like it….my wife, unfortunately, hates it and I don’t want to choke her out so I don’t own it. I am ordering Aramis based on the year it came out (1966) as this is my birth year. Hoping I enjoy it!

Super great review, love Aramis. The bottle in the 80’s was a brown, ceramic bottle. Mine is opaque in 2022. Smells so good. Estee Laudree’ back in the 60’s.

There's, Aramis EDT and Aramis EDT Concentree. Apparently, they're different. I only own the classic Aramis EDT and a vintage bottle.

I recently got spice bomb extreme by victor rolf. I haven't got aramis or quorom for a very long time but when I smell spice bomb it reminds me of quorom or aramis..I wonder do they smell a little similar?

It's funny how back then men's aftershaves were very masculine compared to now where many men's "Masculine" aftershaves smell more feminine.

Aramis concentrate is the best, I have been using it for 40 years, comes in the frosty bottle, must state concentrate because it lasts the entire day. I cannot find it anymore in South Africa.

Ok, appreciate your review and thoughts on this fragrance, but, let me ask you, how many scents have you seen that are murky????? This screams fake.
This is the Concentrée flanker of Aramis which comes in a frosted glass bottle not murky or fake.
I just got this a few days ago. All I get is a blast of what smells like Big Red cinnamon gum, and a very powdery drydown. Very disappointed. Got the same thing out of Sung Homme, that fragrance also smelled like cinnamon gum. I must of got a dud bottle. I know it's not just my nose, wife smelled the same thing. 😕
yes these are the cheaper bottles they don't last as long
