Enjoyed both your videos of your stay at DHHIR. As a former local of HHI, as well as former CM at the resort there, I appreciated all the commentary as it brought back good memories. Do go back when it's warmer and the island is a bit busier and you won't find yourself huddling inside one of my all-time favorite restaurants, Fishcamp. Outside in the warm sun, fresh oyster bar, and a better menu, it beats the pants off Poseidon. HHI Social Bakery is a great spot--the one you went to (HHI Social Bakery South) opened about a year before I left. The one near the resort does close in the winter; however, I should point out that it doesn't sit in Shelter Cove Town Centre near Poseidon--that would be The French Bakery. The original HHI Social Bakery sits right across the bridge from the resort. I also noticed in your wandering around the resort that Amy found a stage with some benches near the playground. That is the site where family night at the movies takes place from time to time, and it also serves as a place to conduct various services such as a Veterans' Day ceremony, etc. Never saw a wedding there, but I suppose it could happen! Again, thanks for all the memories you reminded me of. Can't wait to get back for a visit myself!
These episodes are very enjoyable! I agree with Amy, I like my food piping hot! And I adore a great cafeteria. I'm in my 40s, and if that makes me old, then so be it.
@@DVCFan Amy, here in Houston, we have Cleburne Cafeteria. Locally-owned farm fresh everything. Their squash casserole is amazing! 💕 is there a good cafeteria in Orlando?
Great job! Love Hilton Head, it's always our 1 day stop 75% of the way down from NY to Orlando when we're going to Disney World. Stop at a Buc-ees on the way back, and give Buc-ees a review!
RIP to the Pizza Hut buffet. 🍕 And boo to 'firing' Shadow the dog. 🐾 Great overview of the resort and area. I'm looking forward to checking it out in the future.
We’ve stayed at this resort twice. It’s a good stop over point when driving to Florida from New York and vice versa. It’s hard to book in the off season though. Many times we just opt to stay a little further west in Bluffton, SC. There’s a very clean Holiday Inn Express on Bluffton Rd right off Fording Island Rd. The location is perfect for a quick drive to Disney the next morning, slightly over 4 hours which is nothing compared to the 15 hours the day before. I do like the placement of the resort on HHI, it’s not on the ocean side. The fishing pier is fun in the warmer months too. The businesses being set back preserves the natural look, I like it…but you do have to pay attention.
I’m pretty sure I’m old enough to be your mom, but I’m loving hanging out with you in your videos - both your trip videos (so thorough) and the “regular” chat/info videos with “those other guys.” Keep up the great work and thanks!
You do a great review showing all around the resort. The reviews I’ve seen don’t make me want to visit there. They just show the room and maybe one of what they ate.
FYI the other Social Bakery location is just across the marina from the resort. It’s next to Scott’s Fish Market so very walkable. Also they offered a 10% discount the last time we were there.
Trust me, we've gone there way too many times for our waistlines 😂. Try the desserts sometime. They aren't as sweet as typical American desserts - definitely more French style. Everything we've had there has been perfection.@@YamKriegs
Another great video. I see you were mentioning there are some restaurants that let you save 10% if staying at the Disney resort. Are you able to share that list? Would be nice to see when planning a trip to Hilton Head.
Sure can! It’s all the Serg group owned restaurants which are a ton. Here is a link to the guide: serggroup.com/menu-guide/ There are also paper copies of this book for free throughout the island and the front desk will also give you the website when you check in.
Informative video for DVC and non-DVC members alike! Thank you. Side note, please tell me you bought that HH jacket at the Disney's Character Warehouse, Vineland. I wanted it so bad and ended up not getting it sadly.
@@DVCFan Awesome! I can't recall the discount and I don't know if the jackets were the same but nice look! Jealous over here! Side note #2? Headed to WDW tonight for the up coming week staying at Copper Creek Villas though we are SSR & Aulani owners. Cheers and thank you for all you all do!
Such a pretty resort ! I wish Shadow was still there though. Dogs make everything better:)
My wife and I are enjoying these so much!

HH is why we bought DVC. I love everything about the resort. It is a great place to rest when driving to Disney from NY.
I totally remember Pizza Hut buffets!!
Amy uses the word ‘cute’ a lot.😂
Great videos of the trip to HHI.
Thank you for this! We're going next month for our first trip and this was very helpful. I can't wait to try Nectar after seeing your review.

Lol I love a good cafeteria too! We have one back home called Melhmams. They have the best broccoli casserole.

Go every spring break! Love fishcamp and nectar. About a month away!
I love jalapeño margaritas too!!

Skull Creek Boathouse is my favorite restaurant in Hilton Head!

Hilton Head is a great vacation spot. Wish it was a little warmer when you went!

“Eating a skunk” 😂😂😂
I’m been to Squid Lips at Vero and 100% recommend! It’s on the water with a great view, and good food
We had a Pizza Hut near us that did not survive the pandemic. It, at some point, had a buffet. It's now a really good Mexican place.

We stayed in a one bedroom years ago. Enjoyed it but points are the highest. Love the beach but at Disney I want this. 🏰

That’s dangerously close…I might be there every day if it’s open next time we are there.

The chip and dale scavenger hunt thing was in a plant in the lobby in the video from y’all’s first day!
Nice place for a babymoon
The Social Bakery building was built as a KFC then became an Arby's then a Dairy Queen.
At 13:45 you will see the building that was featured many times in 2016 Hurricane Mathew damage videos.

In the summer, we rent bikes for the week and bike to the beach every day!
I am laughing at your 50's comment. I am visiting family up north and 50's is " shorts weather"' 😊
I'm so cold natured guess I'd freeze there. 🥶 😊
You missed One Hot Mama’s - the best BbQ on the Island
Absolutely the best.
It counts

Actually got it a few years back during one of the big 25% off AP sales at WDW!

Next time id say give Scotts a shot. Its much closer to quality of Poseidon than fish camp.
We live near Sunbury Ohio. We still have a Pizza Hit buffet. It’s not really what it used to be. Any of the Serg group restaurants are good.
Awww that is sad to hear… It used to be so good! 🥲
