🇦🇺 hey Roos 🙋🏻 love that spiral cactus! How cute. The Blue Begonia is GORGEOUS. You pronounced terrarium correctly the first time 😉😉 - your large terrarium hugely inspired me I bought an large aquarium (but as big as yours!) So big plans afoot. I saw how you had taped the palidiflorum leaf in a different segment and I laughed my head off 😂 but..... The other day i accidentally tore leaf on my P. euberescence Ruby ☹️ and then i saw my painter's tape and remembered you and taped my leaf! You can hardly even tell 🎉, so thank you. I also saw you started your calladiums inside. I've had trouble getting mine started, I have them in a humidity unit, planted in terracotta and sitting on a tray with a layer of stones. I put water to just touch the bottom of the pot and wait for it to evaporate and top it up again. It's been 3 weeks and no sign of life. Do you think they'll survive or have I rotted them? Hope your Christmas was lovely and Happy New Year 🎇🎇🎇🎇
The blue begonia is most intriguing to me. Gets me dreaming of creating a terrarium. What I loved most about you and your presentation is that you normalize brown or damaged leaves and even say Thrips without crazy anxious energy. Its lovely to embrace the perfectly imperfect realities of plant parenthood which allows even more appreciation for the longevity of any white variegated leaves 😹😻
Thank you so much! ♥️ Yeah sometimes people are shocked that I (as an 'expert'🤭) have brown leaves! So I try to show that that is normal and part of nature / growing plants. Thrips have become less stressful for me since I started using good bugs. No crazy work to kill them, just get more good bugs to do the work 😅👌🏻❤️
My favorite plants that I grow are jungle cacti, philodendron and hoya. I also really love agleomena. I loved seeing all of your plants. The terrarium s are spectacular. Thank you for speaking such beautiful English. That lets me into your world a little bit.🌱🌵
Again, loved this video. I will continue to follow you. Am commenting to help your channel, but would just repeat what others have noted about your positive energy. My favorite plant this year is my Verricosum. It has these large 19" leaves. I believe I have it exactly where it wants to be, at least for now. Also my Mameii has a gigantic leaf, but not holding my breath on that one. Its leaves start yellowing and looking bad pretty quickly, unfortunately. Hope all is well in the new year. We all need to appreciate how fortunate we are if we are living without fear as so many are at this time. Best wishes to you.
Labisia are so cool and beautiful!! Highly recommend - but in high humidity, I've not tried growing them in my living room yet. A project for this coming year!
Loved it!! Happy 2024! The Hoya Clemensiorum is everything. Had to add that to my wishlist. I have a question: will you do (more) houseplant tours like the one you did with Joep? Thanks. Btw, fellow dutchie here. Doei!
Hi Roos. i wanted to tell you about that hoya carri you showed. i noticed in my hoya collection that most of the plants(excepting the trailling ones) only like to grow up. if you change their direction and trellis them down the tip will die and branch out from one of the nodes that is high. i think its called apical node or something like that and in this case it will change. not all hoyas do that tho
Yes that's right, hoya tendrils often stop growing if they're pointing down and grow from another place. In this case with the carrii, that's not what it is: it's already growing up and is branching - so two active growth points keep going!
Absolutely beautiful ❤️ happy new year! your Thai is getting huge! Now that I have a Philodendron Florida it's catching my eye all the time. It's big leaf shape and variegation really stands out
Such a fun video! Unfortunately my 2 little ones then me- got a awful cold. So my whole house is down 😢 this video definitely made my day feel better even if only for a little ❤❤❤ merry Christmas (if you celebrate) or happy holidays! And HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🎉🎉🎉
Sorry for your Jacklyn alocasia. My one grow indoor without any problem in about 35-45% humidity with leaves over 30cm. I hope you will succeed🙏❤️🙏 You are so fabulous with Philodendrons/Anthuriums. I can’t do philos cause of pests…
They're baggies of good bugs, in this case two kinds: predatory mites against spider mites and thrips. The thrips one (swirskii) also work against flat mites on hoya etc!

Yes I definitely will! I just haven't been able to film them yet. But many are planned! With iris (mama botanica), Ans (urbanjungling) and many more!
