i used to have a kite when i was a kid that i bought from a super-market.this thing was amazing! :D the only thing limiting it was the length of the string. soo..,i bought another reel and connected them. it took a while to rewind,and i had to use a stick instead of the cardboard that it was originaly wound around. finally my kite was ready. i selected a place in the field near by my neighbourhood to fly it. as it soared, my heart pounded.. i made it do terrific dives and loopdy-loops.., and as it danced gracefully in the air, the god damn f-ing string broke and it crashed into a BBQ which ruined my mom and dads party. luckily i had already stole a 6-pack (sorry mom)so i was well prepared to wait it out. but to this day, i miss that kite! ;p
Nice design. The wind in the video is too strong for it. I'd suggest using polyester (not cotton) sewing thread as the line, or just an old kite string, and it should fly in light wind. Possibly also make the cross spar wider.

If you print template onto A4 paper the kebab skewers will be approximately 30cm and 22cm but it does depend what size the template is when you print it out.
If you click on the works Kite Template on my website, it should open in another tab and you can save or download the PDF from there. I just tried it and it's working for me :) failing that I can e-mail it to you if you like?

Made this kite for my grandsons, the youngest is three and he absolutely loved it and it flew for him, the five year old loved his too.

They may break faster but they can actually fly because of the less wait
