I believe Taylor was known as the philosopher of soul, and this record ‘A New Day’ was released in 1980 just as disco was beginning to wane. The record’s tempo material is less slick - even veering towards funk in certain areas. Once again though, it’s the ballads that he writes, like ‘Signing Off With Love’ that have lasted the longest in my ears since first hearing it. This dude is iconic though I’m not gonna lie. Good record
