Following Covid I lost everything my home, my business my beloved cats I had to rehome them after 11 years broke my heart - I ended up living in a tent on a cheap campsite and thank goodness I managed to get a job not easy at 65 - I’m still on an uphill struggle but at least I get my state pension now - not enough though to have my own home. Presently staying with a friend as a carer. God bless these wonderful people it warms your heart to see that there are still caring people in this country.

It depends on circumstances, but it can happen to decent people i hope they can rebuild there lifes.sadly some people don't care and just simply have issues with drink and drugs, but there is hope no way can you be rough sleeping forever, most people live 4 years if that. One thing is sometimes familys will not help them, and often auntys and uncle are the worst simply not a care in the world about there own.
Nice sentiment but not possible unless you think governments can give free houses to everyone, can't be making some people pay if it's a right to have one
These are the kind of people who deserve knighthoods and awards, not celebrities and useless politicians. This man, and his volunteers are making a real difference.
I'm an old British veteran living far away. I might be in that situation if I were back to the UK. It's so sad and wrong. A society that doesn't care. Thank you to We are human
In my area, there was a homeless guy who was also an ex veteran. We had many conversations about life in general and how dire the system actually is and the fact that it's specifically devised to fail people. Just after Christmas that's just gone (2023), I had some spare money that I'd been given as a gift for Christmas. I didn't need the money so I gave it to this ex veteran. I used to buy him drinks and food whenever I was in the vicinity. I'd not seen him for a few days so I asked a couple of other homeless guys who I help if they'd seen Stewart. They told me that he's left the area because he has no chance of being offered any help or assistance. I really hope that he gets sorted. To think that he fought for the Country to be left in the position he's been left in by Govt is beyond disgusting. I was so pleased to hear that he'd left the area. What also gave me comfort was the fact that through people's donations/generosity is the fact that it's has helped to get him away from the area so that he can get back on his feet. I wish I'd have got the chance to wish him good luck before he left. I miss him and the chats we used to have. He's such a lovely guy.
@@MinotaurvsCyclops I'm French and live in France so I definitely do not have the full insight. More and more people are struggling here too but it seems that it's even worse in the UK (except for a few in London...). But at the end, has Brexit made it worse or was it already like that before?
Andrew hit the nail on the head with the business model of certain so called "non profit" organisations. I am not particularly religious, but to say "God bless you" seems a natural thing to say.
Rich and poor - that's typical bad capitalism example. The level of life in the Uk dropped down again, less jobs, less hopes for a good future, the UK looks much worse than many Eastern block countries now and even salaries are crap.

As I've been homeless I would rather give a fiver to a lady or gentleman on the street than give it to a charity, weve got a gentleman in our small town Mickey who is homeless I sort him food out and whenever I have a beer he gets a couple of them, my neighbour's who are on benefits fill him hot water bottles before he goes to his hideaway and wash his clothes for him ,the lady manager of our local sainsburys paid for him the full mashings at a Turkish barbers and he looks twenty years younger, ten from the haircut and shave and ten years from the fact he is happier, when I was homeless it was actually easier to sleep in the winter because no one wants to be out in the cold and dark so find somewhere safe to sleep have a drink and I could get a good six hours sleep the summer although you knew the cold wouldn't kill you ,you dont sleep cos theres always people about
It's because the homeless fuck up and don't want to do something about the situation they just take drink and drugs And before anyone attack my comment I been homeless I looked in a paper and got a job then I wasn't rough sleeping I was even going to aldi and lidl and sleeping in a comfortable sleeping bag one night I went to sleep next morning was snow all over the ground I was under a shelter so didn't disturb my sleep but only the week spends years like this or people who don't want responsibilitys that's what I've learned . Harsh as it might seems but it's true I been there and I've communicated with plenty so yes fuck the soft talk lol
It is something that is always there and always will be, it is getting worse day by day in Australia and in other countries as well. Some may have a stroke of luck in these times that feel as if it's impossible to live anywhere without worrying about food, rent and so on.
I don't think it's a case of "still" having this go on. You'll never reach a point of 0% housed. The real issue is, the numbers are growing. They're getting increasingly higher, and the government doesn't seem to care.
I grew up in Bournemouth and I was homeless as a 4 year old (domestic abuse situation) and so me and my mother and my 2 sisters were put into a b&b. I do have lovely memories of Bournemouth but it is hard to go back. I moved to Oxfordshire when I was 10.
What a great charity and bunch of people! I would like to visit Boscombe and Bournemouth on my days off and volunteer to help 'We are Humans' I have visited Boscombe many times with my Dog during lockdown about 10 times, so good memories, sadly my Dog is no longer here lost him last September but still happy memories and would love to help out :)
Missing a leg would lead to some mental torcher - a mental health issue. Nobody with a mental health problem can be expected to work / lock down a full time occupation.
Hearing of these people's stories, life is not steady like you would think when everything friends, colleagues and others is standing by the side of you. Your efforts as volunteer deserve a round of applause Andy 👏
Great content and the true reality of the problem was seen in that video. I was homeless in Bournemouth for 6 months around 2018/19 and frequented the same areas shown in that video. Great to see Wendall highlighting the issues around homelessness and addiction. Top marks 👌 🙏
It's so hard for people who are homeless and I created we are humans organisation after being homeless and the beautiful public who don't quite understand why homelessness happens or the situations that could lead to homelessness and believe me it could happen to anybody at anytime for the people who have commented about me getting a job I have gainful employment that pays my bills I don't receive any form of benefits and I do this because I personally give a shite about our community's and the people in them I just want to create change and understanding within the whole community and I do it because I can and my payment is the feeling that we can all create changes it's a team effort and it's the whole community helping the whole community it's a very simple way to change our worlds thanks to wendall for helping us to bring this to the public domain ❤
@maurice28901 Maurice, I can say without doubt and as someone who knows Andy personally that he is 100% genuine. I know in this day and age it's hard to believe people do stuff just for the buzz of helping other people, but Andy is one of those rare amazing people.
@maurice28901 Why on earth would you say this maurice28901...other than being a pathetic heartless soul of a human being troll? Awaiting your response!
You definitely need to do mire of those videos around the uk about homeless yo get more help and spread the words well done mate i wish i could help you . I use to volunteer for the homeless in North Wales before i took ill with cancer . Well fone wedall ❤
They really are and everyone working together as one contributing only makes the difference so much stronger 🤞💪 that's what I hope more people in their communities will realise from these videos
Large charities are a business No homeless = no business for them Its in their interest to keep people on the streets Give your money as close as possible to the recipient
You are a very good man Wendell God bless you and Andy and everybody like you it makes my heart hurt. Please keep up your videos as people need to release what's happening. Thank you for all you do. Keith ❤😊❤
Well done guys for helping these people , they have been dealt a cruel hand in life and deserve all the help they can get. Going back eight years or so I was lucky enough to get down to Bournemouth for a couple of days a month in the summer months and was surprised to see so many homeless people on the streets. I got into the habit of buying some cheap sandwiches and pies from the Tesco in the square and handing them out to a few people that were homeless. They were always very grateful. I didn't want to force them onto people so I asked if they could make use of some food when I approached them , I don't think anyone ever refused. These people need help and it looks like this organisation is doing a great job , those pods look like a brilliant idea. I usually donate to the salvation army at Christmas but my donation will go to we are humans this year. Keep up the great work guys , well done.
One of my favourite videos I've watched from you and I find this completely genuine. Always someone to question everything , but this really shows teamwork and the fantastic volunteers to help the homeless. God Bless.
Well done mate. Respect to Andy as well. It's a hard situation, because some of those people who are homeless made some poor choices with drugs etc. Each person has to have agency and responsibility, but if they don't, after a certain point, they can't even help themselves anymore. And collective society has to step in.
Love the work ❤❤❤ Am from up north in West Yorkshire in dewsbuy and even we have a really bad homeless Ang drugs problem….. no government has ever actually done anything except talk shit 💩
Great Video, Your a Good Man Wendall, what that guy in the wheelchair said, is so true, i have been homeless before, its heartwarming to see you help them, really like your show.
I love watching your channel Wendall. You are great with people and obviously passionate about the state of your country. You and Andy from We are Humans and Johnny in Spain are great men. These videos make me really think. Can you imagine if even 1 person in every thousand did this work, what the world could be like. Thanks for getting this out 👍🙏
Those helping the vulnerable here are "an absolute inspiration"!! I have just subscribed to your channel, and your passion and concern for what is happening to people who are experiencing real hardship is "absolutely undoubted"!!
I was in Bournemouth last September. Sat on a bench to eat a sandwich down near the sea and was asked by at least 15 people if I had money so that they could buy a meal deal. I was shocked. Ran out of spare change and had to move. It’s depressing x.
Poverty is big business, you control how much they have in their pockets, you control where and if they can stay somewhere, you control their lives. How much money is donated each year, and how much of this actually gets down to street level, probably lucky if even 5% gets to the ones who need it.
It breaks my heart to see this happening in your beautiful country. Here in Canada, we face the same issues. Time to stand up and rebel against the corrupt governments of the world.
Theres gonna be some people in the comments saying "oh you're just being a do gooder for the camera" but you can tell this is genuine and more work like this needs to done and documented because most people have no idea what life is like for some people. Give em an eye opener.
Wendall, Well I think your just brilliant, full of compassion and good deeds. I love your channel and I love to see the beauty in all that you do to support our fellow brothers and sisters in humanity. Keep on keeping on, small inputs make a difference, keep spreading the love ❤️ xXx
Wendall Sir ... Had to write this Note .. Not being Harsh just realistic But Again Thank You and I do Respect Your Work
Born and bred in Wimborne local to Bournemouth . Always engaged with the homeless community when in Bmouth. If everyone can treat humans as humans we would all be in a better place
Hello ! I Have been with my girlfriend on 2019 for work in bournemouth , I appreciate so much this lovely city , i remember some homeless and often i gave some money to help them ❤ I Miss this lovely city Alessandro
I used to volunteer in one, corrupt is an understatment. Things get chucked or get sent to ebay or World of Books. Good stuff goes to the staff at a low price, rubbish goes on to the shop floor. Manager's do the pricing for the staff holds or a crafty volunteer will lower prices on purpose., hoping they can get away with it Old clothes go to a rag man which the charity get about 50p per bag. Regional/Area managers are on very decent pay.
Fellah round where I used to live, a one man band, I gave him 7 black bags full of stuff for the homeless. A few months later, some scumbags nicked his collecting van. He'd sit in the high street with his sign, some traders tried to move him on , us locals started a campaign "let him stay" ------ he stayed.😊
Good follow up Wendall, Andy helped me and continues to help us all, especially since i got turfed out. Still trying, not easy, need better more comprehensive care and concern and compassion and support.
Humanitarian aid! Here in Britain 🇬🇧 in 2024 . Never thought I’d hear those words. You can always rely on the British people to pull together and help others less fortunate 👌🏻
Bournemouth is a nasty place. I moved here in 2014. Ive been lucky but Ive had my issues. Its great to see sombody caring in an otherwise uncaring materialistic sewer like Bournemouth.
I live near Bournemouth and Andy is right. There are lot of people and businesses making a lot of money out of homeless people. Large properties are being bought by business people and turned into houses of multiple occupation and homeless peole charged a fortune to stay in them. Its a cash cow. BCP council are bankrupt due to mismanagement and even Bournemouth civic centre is manned by the Citizens Advice as all the council staff are still working from home! Its a bloody joke!!! There are thousands of asylum seekers staying in top class hotels permanently and our own British people are treated like rubbish. These asylum seekers are also dealing drugs. Councillor Vicki Slade has an awful lot to answer for. When confronted about the working from home she replied that it was ' none of my business' . The old Poole Civic centre has now stood empty for years due to WFH and could be converted at least into a night shelter or temporary accomodation for these poor people. The council have spent all their money on bloody cycle lanes, white elephant eco centres by the beach and electric bikes and scooters. BCP and its councillors are a sodding joke, only interested in lining their own pockets. The lot of them should be sacked and the public put in charge. The last head of the council resigned because of financial mismanagement. Check it out.
Well done Wendell for highlighting this even though we are all to aware now if your rock up illegally in a boat ...it’s free phone , hotel, food , money ...but if your British through and Through and your on hard times your stuffed ! , well done Andy
Excellent video again Wendall and very generous of you. Coincidentally , I am moving soon to BH postcode by Wimbourne and Ringwood - so I will be be seeking out Andy at WAH and volunteering myself. Keep up the great vids bud 👏👍
I love how this channel doesn't just show n do the one thing but your always mixing it up n doing something diffrent to be honest n its makes it always exciting even for an aussie not to mention i like learning about the UK n before this i didn't even no u guys have beaches to be honest.
Appreciate the comment. It’s hard to choose variety of content carefully, as TH-cam is in general a platform that rewards repetition! You never know I could crop up down under sooner or later 🇦🇺
Hi Wendall. You Sir are one in million for highlighting the plight of the UK homeless. I really hope your videos help to change Joe Public's perception of homeless people? Because honestly it's often a case of "There but for the grace of God go I" Way back in 2005 I was involved in a life changing accident. I ended up in a rehab hospital for 18 weeks. During that time my employer decided to sack me! Several other folk in the rehab unit found themselves in the same position (apparently it's common?) So it was suggested to us that we eased our way back into full-time employment by doing voluntary work. I ended up volunteering at a homeless shelter and absolutely loved it. Many years later I was asked to join the board of trustees that were responsible for deciding how the donated funds were spent. Unfortunately that meant that I was forced to give up my role as a volunteer. But at the time I thought it was a fair trade. However, it definitely didn't turn out how I'd hoped it would. Basically, I was asked to take on that role on the board as I'm a normal working class bloke. From a very poor background (My Mum did 3 jobs to make ends meet etc) So the lady who put me forward for the position hoped that I'd bring some down to earth views to the table. 90% of my fellow board members had lived very privileged lives & were consequently totally clueless about the harsh realities of the real world. I did it for 9yrs mate but it was so f-ing frustrating! Honestly, my fellow board members idea of hardship was running out of Pimms on a warm day. The only reason I left was 9yrs was the maximum time any trustee was allowed to serve. Otherwise I'd still be there & still tearing my hair out about how they squandered the money they were gifted. On a very important side note (without naming names) During my time as a volunteer on the shop floor so to speak. I met some brilliant characters but also heard some heart breaking stories about how they'd ended up in the position they were in. There were a few absolute wasters that no matter how much of a leg-up they were offered, they'd never change their ways. But most found themselves in that position simply due to life dealing them some bad cards. One guy really stood out as an exple of that. Many years prior he & his wife had a row & she kicked him out. Nothing unusual there, I'm sure that many guys have been there & got the T-shirt. However, his father-in-law who had never liked him & for no valid reason. Took the opportunity to go to the guys local pub & spread a totally untrue rumour. That his daughter had kicked the guy out for fiddling with their kids! The guy turned up at his local pub after after work (he was a teacher) & everyone blanked him. Eventually he found out why & went to have it out with his father-in-law. That resulted in a fight & the father-in-law lost. The guy left & didn't call an ambulance. Unfortunately, the father-in-law nearly died from his injuries even though it was only a fist fight. So the guy was convicted of attempted manslaughter/murder & went to prison. Many years later he came out to no relationship, no job & no home. As I said mate..."There but for the grace of God go I"... Sorry for the long winded reply. And keep up your invaluable work Sir! Without guys like yourself & Andy from We Are Human. The world would be a far worse place! 👍
Thank god for outreach organisations like We Are Human. We desperately need to build more council housing and get people into those homes. We need to provide support for them to stay in those homes too.
Great work buddy, it's happening everywhere, I know first hand what it's like to be homeless, and hopeless, I'm housed now,I class myself as a very very lucky person, it's so sad,my son is in a hotel, as long as I've got a roof, he will have 1,if his housing goes south, it feels like somthing else is going on in the background, again great content, live to all, from Wales 🩵🩵🩵💯

The UK messed up when it sold off all the council housing. This was a tragic error.
And is not building any either!😢
Oh this was no mistake my friend. It was done completely purposely
Rich and poor - that's typical bad capitalism example. The level of life in the Uk dropped down again, less jobs, less hopes for a good future, the UK looks much worse than many Eastern block countries now and even salaries are crap.
Council housing now goes to foreigners
@@laviniasey I live in a council house in France. Are you saying I should be made homeless so they can give my flat to a French person?
The homeless couples situation breaks my heart. Having to look for work??? Mind boggling.
I do go to Bournemouth and Boscombe a fair bit, it's only the 2 theatres and university that keep the town going. Hotels are closed to the public apart from a handful, Trouvulle closed last. This is because the police were after managment, due to thefts in hotel rooms and health and safety with a joke there.
Where 2 homeless couple were near the garden, it's very dodgy at night even the locals prefer to go home by taxis than walk through the gardens. If people do go down to Bournemouth for the day they normally get another bus for Christchurch and have day out there, despite having not much there. Worst thing that happened to Bournemouth is that all 3 seperate councils merged in to one. Rich man David Wells bought all lot of houses (Help with public money) and turned them all in to crime and drug ridden bedsits.
Vikki Slade, cares more about pandering to students and woke miniorites groups than facing real people with real problems. She liked a post social media that promoted death and violence towards TERF's.
CEO of St Mungo's paid more than £189,000 according to published accounts while workers can’t afford their rents
But they have to pay top wages to CEO…to get the best people …..yeh right.
As I've been homeless I would rather give a fiver to a lady or gentleman on the street than give it to a charity, weve got a gentleman in our small town Mickey who is homeless I sort him food out and whenever I have a beer he gets a couple of them, my neighbour's who are on benefits fill him hot water bottles before he goes to his hideaway and wash his clothes for him ,the lady manager of our local sainsburys paid for him the full mashings at a Turkish barbers and he looks twenty years younger, ten from the haircut and shave and ten years from the fact he is happier, when I was homeless it was actually easier to sleep in the winter because no one wants to be out in the cold and dark so find somewhere safe to sleep have a drink and I could get a good six hours sleep the summer although you knew the cold wouldn't kill you ,you dont sleep cos theres always people about
If that's accurate, thats vile
About par for the course 😑😒
Disgusting
You're a good man mate. God bless you and all these people in need. Love from Portugal.
What amazing people. Andy is such a good, caring man. He's a hero.
I feel for those poor souls , not living just existing . God bless those that help .
In the year 2024, the fact that we still have this kind of shit is appalling.
It will always be this way unfortunately.
There lazy drug and drink addicts true fact
It is something that is always there and always will be, it is getting worse day by day in Australia and in other countries as well.
Some may have a stroke of luck in these times that feel as if it's impossible to live anywhere without worrying about food, rent and so on.
I don't think it's a case of "still" having this go on. You'll never reach a point of 0% housed. The real issue is, the numbers are growing. They're getting increasingly higher, and the government doesn't seem to care.
Will be looking this local charity up from Bournemouth well done andy x🎉❤
I love everything you do Wendall, you will be rewarded for your kindness.

The world needs more people like Andy. What a legend!
That tent is such a good idea.

Hearing of these people's stories, life is not steady like you would think when everything friends, colleagues and others is standing by the side of you. Your efforts as volunteer deserve a round of applause Andy 👏
Wendall's empathy is heart-warning.
I just can’t imagine how people cope outdoors during a British winter. Such a sorry state of affairs that we don’t have a system that prevents this
Thanks for helping the older couple😊
Well written Andy

Heartbreaking to watch this can we not all give a fiver and give this couple a few more nights inside 😊Andy is one in a million for sure😊
Fair balanced comment
1:55 that was the most spiritual review of soup ive heard 😂
Andy Talbot should be on the honors list. 12 billion a year on foreign Aid should be spent on the most vulnerable citizens.
Love the work ❤❤❤

I love watching your channel Wendall. You are great with people and obviously passionate about the state of your country. You and Andy from We are Humans and Johnny in Spain are great men. Amazing man! Saw that lady in Bournemouth at Christmas, and yes I dropped her a few quid!
Brilliant work on your attention to this awful situation
I was in Bournemouth last September. Sat on a bench to eat a sandwich down near the sea and was asked by at least 15 people if I had money so that they could buy a meal deal. I was shocked. Ran out of spare change and had to move. It’s depressing x.
Andy the best CEO in the world !!!
This guy is an amazing human!
Thank you, Andy and may God Bless you richly for what you are doing to help those less fortunate. You have a wonderful heart.
Poverty is big business, you control how much they have in their pockets, you control where and if they can stay somewhere, you control their lives. How much money is donated each year, and how much of this actually gets down to street level, probably lucky if even 5% gets to the ones who need it.
Donated money ends up supporting admin more than those in need! Sad!!
The homeless lady is lovely god bless her ❤
God bless you you guys are amazing
It's just heartbreaking to think of that couple out on the streets, you are a good Man Wendall with a good Heart!

It makes me sick when people are quick enough to give away stuff to corrupt charity shops, when they could easily offer it to the homeless folk.

Bournemouth is a nasty place. I moved here in 2014. Ive been lucky but Ive had my issues.
Its great to see sombody caring in an otherwise uncaring materialistic sewer like Bournemouth.
You could say that about london, Manchester, oxford...
What a nice guy (we are humans) God bless him
I live near Bournemouth and Andy is right. When confronted about the working from home she replied that it was
' none of my business' .

I find it inspirational to meet these people
Hi Wendall.
You Sir are one in million for highlighting the plight of the UK homeless. I really hope your videos help to change Joe Public's perception of homeless people?
Because honestly it's often a case of "There but for the grace of God go I"
Way back in 2005 I was involved in a life changing accident. I ended up in a rehab hospital for 18 weeks. During that time my employer decided to sack me!
Several other folk in the rehab unit found themselves in the same position (apparently it's common?)
So it was suggested to us that we eased our way back into full-time employment by doing voluntary work.
From a very poor background (My Mum did 3 jobs to make ends meet etc)
So the lady who put me forward for the position hoped that I'd bring some down to earth views to the table.
Hotels are full of illegal immigrants, no room for our own homeless.
