Just discovered this video--I was at this show! Based on the angle I must've been standing right behind you. It was my first time seeing them after being a fan for almost 35 years! I'm an American so I never thought I'd get the chance to see them but then it turned out this gig was happening during a week we had planned to be in London on holiday already. The stars aligned perfectly for me to be there and I was not disappointed!
Great upload, saw The Primitives 3 or 4 times in the space of a year around 1888/89. Didn't see them live again until 2019 (still good) and got tickets for Newcastle gig with Hugh Cornwall next January. This reminds me of standing in the crowd at those early gigs, good raw sound with feedback and camera angles spot on.
Smashing group, and also a big thanks to you for capturing/editing/sharing. Setting up the chapters in YT also, brilliant. With the cuts and different angles I'm seeing, were you rocking multiple cameras? Impressive
Thanks George, its a small hand held camera (not a phone so doesn't get in anyones eyeline) that shoots 4k quality so you can zoom in to a close up as if its a different angle then cut back to a wide shot.
@@AlternativeGuitars Brilliant thanks Austin. Does the camera itself do that, or you handle yourself later while editing? Just looked it up and looks like quite the impressive little package.
@@georgeh4641 I put the whole gig into Final Cut mate and did the edits from there, only thing about that small camera is the screen is bloody tiny and don't think it supports an edit mode unless you attach a phone to it but I did everything on a laptop. Pretty quick process apart from the 24gb upload to youtube
love the primitives ohh and the darling buds xxxx

I wish i could 4:58 have seen this show. I fell in love to this music in high school. Best times.
thank you!!! i adored this band in the early 90s and am STOKED to find they put out new music and tour!
Tracks are still sounding good 30 years on!
Brilliant many thanks for uploading the Primitives at the 229, love this superb band, Tracy still hot and in great voice here.
Very good audio.
The Primitives sound great in person, most videos don't reflect that. This one does.
Cheers mate

💓💓💓💓
Tracy vocal bit off key to start, however sounds spot on as gig progress. The Primitives a great band live.
Think there were a few off key moments but a great gig nontheless
Drums don't seem to be mic'd or mixed very well.
