@@traceybryant3317 yes they are good bearings. idk about 7mm or 8mm for u. go to ur local rink and they will make sure yours fit. i bought bearings online and they fit but i ride pretty normal sized wheels so i never had a problem with ordering online, but u can always be sure when buying in person at the rink
@@traceybryant3317 the 7mm or 8mm relates to your plates axles. European plates like Roll-line have 7mm axles but 8mm seems to be most common - sure grip, PowerDyne, Bont etc but some like Snyder you can choose the size. Best to check the spec for your particular plate. If you use 8mm bearings on a 7mm axle it can bend the axle, so best to be certain and get it right.
The new 120 are like the new 111 if y'all wanted to know only difference is the nose of 120s are squared and the cuts a lil different but all in all there perform about the same
@@spinbytre ive never measured bearings, nor have i ever had one that didnt fit lol. long as it say roller skate bearing im 99.999% sure its gone fit. the bearings i usually use are redz bones or kwik zenith
best way to break wheels in is just to use em. t stopping usually helps, but other than that just roll. and im not well versed in plates. the only metal one I really use is the power dyne reactor Neo aluminum plate and its great for me

I just read reviews that werent poaitive but it was mostly coming from derby skaters. So your the 2nd rhythm skater to say they're great.. Thanks a lot
@@afrikawithak nah u dont need to go outdoor with your wheels lol. I wouldn't do it. she people say metal plates are heavy. if u want a lighter option u can get plastic, but I wouldn't get a cheap metal plate, I have seen cheap plates break before. u will be fine with the one u ordered
@@afrikawithak as for plates depends what you're style is and you plan on doing. The standard Riedell plates are reactor fuse, neo, pro, and Arius plat. Arius is their best , but very different. The pro and neo are like 5-10° action, which means very very stable , and harder to do things like figure loops and aggressive turns. I like a 45 degree plate, which is as responsive as you can get, with the softest cushions loose as possible. Most people couldn't skate on my setup or they will fall instantly due to wobble. But I love this control. It's a lot more difficult to skate fast or in a straight line . Takes perfect form.
Do you notice some skates having longer wheel base than others? I have some suregrips and I like them, but I feel a little off balance from the back sometimes and someone said they have a shorter wheelbase so that’s why. None of the skate descriptions list the length of the wheelbase so it’s hard to know
@@PicklesFiona the length of the skate determines that so right? so im sure there are Dif wheel bases for Dif skates. or maybe your plate is not aligned correctly. take it to a skate shop to get checked out

That first pair of skates you held up I don't think are Chicago because sure grip plates never come on Chi skates....only way that plate would be on there is if you had it switched out and put on there. I also own the 120's. I loved them until I got my OG's lol now I'm spoiled and don't care for my 120's much no more, they're stiff and heavy. My OG's are so much lighter and more comfortable! I have black Bones Super Elite 62mm 101a hardness with Bones Swiss Ceramic bearings on my 120's. For my OG's, I have white Varsity Plus 62mm with the aluminum hubs, 101a hardness with Bones Swiss bearings. I thought I was probably going to end up switching the Bones wheels to my OG's but now I'm actually liking the Varsity Plus more than I thought I would so I will just leave them. The varsity wheels are a lil more slippery than the varsity though.

The taped up pair Im not even sure where I bought them haha. OGs are sooooooo smooth. I have a hard time making myself wear my juices lol. Even tho I love them and am more versatile, its hard to top the smoothness that I love in OGs. How much were your ceramic bearings??? And Im thinking bout getting some fomac wheels for more slide and versatility on some spins. Scared to try em tho smh lol. I will be wiping the floor
jam skates are very low cut boots. offer a bit more versatility and rhythm skates are higher boots that offer more support. jam skating also incorporates more break dancing and moves in the middle into it while rhythm is more smooth and focuses a lil more on outside moves to slower music

Hello! I don't know how to mount boots myself but there are videos on youtube explaining it. If you are from an area where the skate scene is decent you should find someone who is experienced to do it other wise u may put the plate on crooked lol. Unless u have a talent with alignments and all the proper tools I would just let a pro do it lol

I want to switch to a better wheel for rhythm/JB style skating, but at a beginner’s pace. Would u recommend the varsity plus (62mm)? Riedell has a nice Cobalt blue in the 62mm. Also, does it matter for 57mm vs 62mm? Sorry for the long post. Thanks again !!!
Whats Up! Congrats on the new skates! Most ppl (including myself) like elite bones wheels. And they service beginners to experts so you can roll on them for a long time. I still use my first set of bones til this day lol. The 62 mm varsity wheels are cool wheels. You would most likely like them. I personally think the 57mm varsity wheels are better are far as grip and control tho. I did a video on size of wheels on my channel if you want to check it out. Thanks for watching!

Hey so I have a couple questions. What's the difference between Rhythm and Artistic Skates and what do you suggest? I can skate pretty good I can do cross overs, skate backwards a little, and that's about it but I do wanna start doing more tricks though. Also I see some are vinyl and some are leather does that also make a huge difference especially if I'm a big skater? (250+)
rhythm skates be for more dance tricks and usually have smaller stoppers. artistic skate are more stable, the trucks are tighter and the skates can be heavier because of the padding. and vinyl vs leather isn't too big a deal, just dont opt for a boot with plastic. it won't last long

most ppl say ogs are heavy too, but i dont think they are as heavy as godfathers. but u can always get a light weight plate as well

mine feel just a tad big, maybe could have went down a half size, but i always skate in 2 pairs of socks so it works out for me.
