    Hey. I am a Coloured South African.
    Ive always maintained:
    Dear Americans. To me, that is what I was brought up as. We are an evolved ethnicity, with an adjusted equilibrium to that of what apartheid intended. We embrace out culture. So, don't feel offended to call us Coloured.
    One more thing...Kindly. Do find South African tour guides? Those guys are NOT South African. I am proudly South African, am a nerd, and I do know my country VERY well.
    Take it from me, please!

    thanks for vlog. People bring safety as a measure of a place to visit as if cities or places when unfamiliar with dont have a safety factor. When in Detroit, Chicago, LA, London, etc safety is a consideration....but that is not what leads the conversation of whether to visit it or not. Dont get me wrong, its a consideration like anywhere...as i am sure you do that as you travel globally. Hope you make it back and visit more places whether in SA or other parts of the continent.

    • @luriescorner
      @luriescorner 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I find people who keep bringing up safety about South Africa beyond just being ignorant. Cape Town, Johannesburg and any other metropolitan city anywhere in the world has crime or some form of security issue.
      I would feel as safe in Cape Town and Johannesburg as I would in Atlanta or Brazil.
      And I find it weird that they like to ask if the entire country is safe vs a specific city or town. Because again, crime affects metropolitan cities more than the villages or smaller places.

    • @Lintletse
      @Lintletse 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luriescorner In total agreement. I have lived in Detroit, LA and Chicago - but did not judge each area based on crime, but experience and learning about each space. We need to change this narrative for real. Anyway, lets hope so in any case. Have a great weekend.

    When you come back you need atleast 3wks in cape town. you've only seen 1/10th of this city. You need to see areas like Strand, Franshoek, Stellenbosch Table View, Robben Island Where Nelson Mandela Spent 27 yrs of his life. When you done you probably won't want to leave hehehe. As a Cape Tonian i find it hard going to other countries because we have everything, Different cuisine's like Cape Malay food Turkish and Jordanian, i see you sampled some Ethiopian aswell.

      As a traveler myself, keep in mind that when you link others to another traveler make sure they share similar life experiences. As a 38 year old woman I would usually like to be connected with adults my age because they would more or less explore things that I would do. A family traveling to South Africa would likely want to watch and connect with another family for similar experience.
