- Join us as we spend the day at Chester Zoo! In this video we take you on a tour across the Zoo, shortly after it was allowed to reopen to the public. Chester Zoo dates back to 1931 and is now the largest Zoo in the United Kingdom. We check out all of the different areas that were open for us to walk around at Chester Zoo, allowing us to get up close to many wonderful animals! We also check out the social distancing measures in place throughout the Zoo along with sharing our thoughts.

I love Chester zoo so many animals and lots more it’s very enjoyable and fun
You can implement all the social distancing in the world but it’s down to people to follow them. Sadly common sense is few and far between. I think 5k was the capped attendance limit per day down from the usual average of 15k but some of the paths (and the entrance) are far too small at times for crowds of that size

All zoos need as much help as possible Yorkshire wildlife park spent more money than Chester zoo . Yorkshire wildlife park started with 13 Lions!

Nice zoo. I love animals so when I saw this video I thought I'm really going to enjoy this and I sure did. I loved the Giraffe's the best. A lot of different animals that I've never seen at a zoo in America. I didn't realize that Chimps lived that long, I'm impressed!
This is brilliant and I have never been to Chester Zoo before. At Longleat there are giraffes and mixed with the zebras, ostriches and black wildebeest. There is good news aswell that on the 27th June we'll be reopening the walk through animal areas which does include Family Farmyard where there is one animal that Charlotte will love as in fact we do have goats

I have went and did the boat ride it is fantastic you go past living animals you get so close and it is unbelievably immersive
The last time I went to Chester zoo was in 2018 I love it there! the giraffes are my favourite 😂
12:47 go to peak wildlife in Leek, near Alton Towers.
They have goats on vacation with lemurs and an African village that you can walk around, I went there on 20th June, I highly recommend it, and it has species that are extinct in the wild. You have to prebook tickets online.

Another great vlog from our very talented TH-cam duo. A very pleasant stroll though the what will be a slow regaining back to the normal situation. I just hope there won’t be too much work involved bringing back the boats. Oh and Charlotte the food menu of the hake. Is a very tasty chunky piece of fish. Mmmm.

Chester Zoo is probably the best in the UK but I much prefer drive thru Safari Parks that have other attractions like West Midlands, Longleat and Woburn !! Didn’t enjoy our last visit to Chester Zoo as it was way too busy and expensive, up charge for the Monorail and the boat ride was so boring

I’ve been waiting for you to do a vlog from chester zoo for years 😂 just wish you were able to see the theming in the big conservatory in the islands before it burnt down. Was absolutely brilliant. It was up there with the best theming in the uk for me

This is one of the best zoos in the country
Chester zoo is my favourite zoo it's amazing, I went 5 years ago and loved it I love the lay out, How do you not like dogs lol. Anyone who loves chester zoo should watch secret life of the zoo, I was at Colchester zoo and found it hard to social distance I wore my mask most of the times especially in ares where I couldn't keep my distance, I think they should let fewer people in but it can't be easy
I've worked as zoo keeper for the day with chester zoo and I sponcer animals there every year and a member every year so I know 90% of all the animals names
Love Chester zoo and nice to see it back up running.
The boat ride was fully operational when I went there last week, but I don't remember ever seeing the monorail. Don't know if it was down or taken away completely, but it certainly would have added to the experience.
Brilliant vlog guys, & thank you for showing your support & helping the Zoo 😊. As always, a really informative vlog, I completely agree that there seemed to be a few too many people in some areas.
I think it will be a bit of trial & error for these places to get the safety measures right.

Omg I live in Chester and it’s exciting seeing you in here!
I went on the boat ride shortly after it opened, although it is nicely themed and really relaxing, you don't actually see a lot as you go round. I think when I went you only got a view of one species of animal (and a few ducks in the water next to you)

My “home zoo”, the Philadelphia Zoo recently announced their reopening for the 9th and since my mom’s birthday is July 10th. I want to go there more ASAP vs Hersheypark, Dorney Park, or Great Adventure. I am not sure when I went last time, the Kids Zoo U area was brand new, with its predecessor abandoned I feel it was around 2016, and I think I hadn’t been there since a Cub Scout Camp In in the late 2000’s. It’s predecessor became a beer garden in 2018 (I think) and the zoo balloon got replaced by a ropes course last year.

Chester Zoo is a magical place for me and my lovely family to go to. Since I was a child. I think Charlotte has turned her self in to a child and I do love Charlotte's acting out as a 10 year old. She dose make me laugh a lot and I love it and I love here and the Vlog as well. I do also love your jokes as well Shawn.

I've been going there for years I'm really local and I love the place
You should’ve seen how busy it was at Alton Towers last Sunday, it was packed around that 1 food stand as there was also a queue for ice creams and a queue for the food stall. Very hard to keep even 1 metre!
It does seem to get busier on the weekends!

Looks great and I’m so glad it’s stats open definitely frustrating people aren’t social distancing though I may wait a while before taking my daughter
Zoo's have a nice relax approach to where you don't need to do temperature checks and they are so spaced out that you can maintain that 2m rule, or 1m from the 4th of july be interesting how altow towers will change that 1M rule.

Thinking about temperature checks, is it more likely to happen in theme parks as you’ll be touching more surfaces on the rides whereas zoos you won’t be

2 years ago I came here and I really want to go back
2m social distancing is if you're stood still for 15 minutes. They've put markers on floors where people queue or be static watching an exhibit for a period of time. It's safer being here than a supermarket, and definitely pubs and restaraunts.

I'm excited because I might be going to blackpool pleasure beach soon when it opens! I hope I'll be able to go on all the rollercoasters for the first time (haven't been to pleasure beach for ages, and the last time I went I only came to nickelodeon land)

Today's updates:
-Yesterday it was announced that the British amusement parks will be able to reopen from Saturday 4 July. Some parks, such as Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Legoland Windsor and Chessington World of Adventures, announced in advance that they will open on that date. Many other amusement parks are also announcing an opening date.
Drayton Manor recently announced that they will be welcoming visitors again starting Saturday, July 4. Paultons Park also communicates that date. Fantasy Island also opens on July 4. Some smaller parks, such as Adventure Island, Twinlakes Park, Brighton Palace Pier and Funland at The Tropicana, will also open the gates on that day. Crealy Theme Park & Resort will open two days later, on Monday July 6.
Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach will hold Saturday July 11, as will The Milky Way Adventure Park. Flambards will open again on Saturday July 18. Oakwood will not open until Monday, July 20.
-The Tokyo Disney Resort have announced they will reopen soon. It is the last Disney resort in the world to announce a reopening. Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, the resort's two parks, will once again receive visitors from Wednesday, July 1. Anyone wishing to visit the parks must reserve a ticket in advance.
The same rules apply in the resort as in the other Disney resorts. The temperature of each visitor is measured upon arrival. Face masks are mandatory throughout the resort, except during meals. Various shows, parades and meet-and-greets will not take place
-The French amusement park Parc du Bocasse has announced a reopening date. The theme park will once again welcome visitors from Wednesday 1 July. The park will soon publish more information about the measures taken, among other things.
-It was just announced during the press conference of the National Security Council that the Belgian amusement parks may open soon. From Wednesday 1 July, parks such as Walibi Belgium, Bobbejaanland, Bellewaerde and Plopsaland De Panne may welcome visitors again.
-Today, it was announced at the National Security Council press conference that amusement and water parks may reopen from Wednesday, July 1. In addition, it was also announced that indoor events will be allowed again to 200 people. Outdoor events can welcome a maximum of 400 people. This capacity limit will be reevaluated in August to 400 indoors and 800 outdoors, if the health situation permits.
However, what this means for the fairs is not yet completely clear. During an earlier press conference, it was announced that carnivals can normally take place from 1 August. It remains to be seen whether that will actually continue and in what form that will exactly happen.
-The American Six Flags Great Adventure, known from Kingda Ka, the highest roller coaster in the world, has announced that they will fully open again soon. The big safari in the park has been accessible for a while, but from Saturday July 4 the whole park will be accessible again. Subscription holders can already enter a day earlier. If you want to visit the park, you must reserve a ticket in advance.
-It was previously announced that two temporary amusement parks had been built in Germany with DüsselLand and FunDoMio. A few more have been added.
INDEPark is located in Eschweiler and boasts 9 major entertainment attractions. The roller coasters Crazy Mouse by Janßen and Willy der Wurm by Bauermeister are present here. INDEPark opened its doors on Friday June 19 and will remain there until Sunday July 12.
Erwitte Schlosspark is located in Erwitte, near the local castle. They will present 12 attractions of the great entertainment type, including the roller coaster Magic Mouse from the Dutch operator Buwalda. The Break Dancer by Schneider, The Aviator by Fischer, Jetlag by Weber, Aeronaut by Hoefnagels and the Infinity by Hoefnagels will also be present here. The temporary amusement park opens its gates on Friday, June 26 and will remain until Sunday, August 9.
Hagen Hagorado is a smaller temporary amusement park with 7 major entertainment attractions. Hagen Hagorado is open from June 26 to July 19 and includes Kaiser's roller coaster Twister, Lehrmann's Heart Breaker, Klinge's X-Force, Deinert's Extrem and Deinert's X Factor.
IBBi-Land is a temporary amusement park, located in Ibbenbüren, that will open on Friday July 3 and close again on Sunday August 2. It includes the X-Racer roller coaster and the Klünder whitewater roller coaster. In total, there are 12 major entertainment attractions. These include Fehlauer's Break Dancer, Ahrend's Troika, Cornelius's Ferris wheel Around the World, Hortz's Avengers - The Ride and Fehlauer's Mach 1.
Schängelland is a temporary amusement park in Koblenz that opens on Saturday July 4 and closes on Sunday August 16. The roller coaster Silver Mine van Issel is present, but also the Break Dance by Klinge and the X-Flight by Ernst. A total of 9 major entertainment attractions have already been announced, but the attraction list is not yet complete.
-The Dutch Kinderstad Heerlen has announced that they will reopen soon. The indoor park will once again welcome visitors from Saturday 27 June. It is the last amusement park in the Netherlands that communicates an opening date. Those wishing to visit the park must reserve a ticket in advance. Certain attractions will remain closed. Some other attractions are only open to children up to 12 years old.

I'm a member at the zoo and have been for years, I went on the monorail when I went to the zoo in February. They haven't closed it down (well they have only for covid19)
The monorail closed in February, you would have been one of the last to ride it, part of the track has already been taken down, the station by the monkeys has been demolished
We went end of February and they had already started taking it down then.

Welcome to my home City. The Zoo was nearly shut down indefinitely but thanks to donations from hundreds + thousands of people it was allowed to re open.
