Hi , enjoying your videos 😊. Dont forget windsor is still a royal residence it's the oldest continuously lived in Castle in the world . We have a ton of castles in the uk most are ruins but some pretty much restored over the centuries and like Warwick Castle you can stroll around them it's pretty cool . 😊
So glad you had such awesome weather! What a great trip! I definitely prefer countryside and villages to metropolitan areas but it's so fun to see both! I'm saying this as if I've been to London, which I haven't but just from experience visiting other places. Definitely want to try to visit Oxford and the Cotswolds when we do go. Thanks for taking us along!
Windsor is an actual home to some of the Royal Family which is why sometimes you see them there if you are lucky so it cannot be as ‘open’ as Warwick; castle. The thing you put your head and hands through are called Stocks. When the weather is nice they normally hold jousting events. They hold pop concerts there too. It’s a fab place. So glad you’re seeing different places 🌹🌹
@9:25 Just a fully functioning replica of a massive medieval Trebuchet seige engine!! Basically a giant 60ft tall mechanical counterweight slingshot/catapult, capable of hurling heavy objects(mostly big rocks, or flaming tar barrels) over and/or through castle walls.

I love the rain, too! 😆 One of the things I love about living in Oregon. 🌲 So glad you guys had such beautiful weather, though. Not quite as fun to travel and explore in wet soggy weather. Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip! It looks and sounds truly magical!
You have to read discovery of witches. It takes place at Oxford. Very atmospheric. Takes place in fall. It's the best fall read. Vampire falls in love with a witch. There is a magical book. It's sooo good 11:16
I see the algorithm has directed a few of us Warwick residents to your video (judging from the comments). I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to our humble town (and not-so-humble castle). We'd love to have you back- Warwick itself has a few things to see as well- you mentioned Tolkien when in Oxford- the church he got married in is in Warwick. The town centre has a beautiful church, several modest museums and that historic market town charm, with an insane number of diverse eateries. Lovely video.
A wonderful trip. Thanks for sharing with us. I would love to see a full size painting of you in your home. You and Boo would be epic 😜 Not quite mid century modern, but epic nonetheless.
The yellow stone you mentioned in Oxford and bath (I live close to Bath) is called Cotswold stone and is a Jurassic limestone common in the south west region of England, hence the amount of buildings built from it. Enjoying your videos. Keep it up ;)
Congratulations on the video, it was excellent, London is a wonderful city, I hope to visit it one day. I started a channel here on TH-cam recently and record in the same way here in Brazil. I signed up, I will follow you from now on. A big hug!!!🙂
When you make your next trip to England, Cambridge is worth checking out which is a spectacularly pretty university town. Also areas of beautiful countryside are the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks. Coastal areas like Devon and Cornwall are worth a visit…
The Cotswolds are VERY spread out. In fact they're centered across the axis of four counties (US States) and my experience is you need about three days to get a feel for the area. Many villages are secluded down the narrowest of lanes imaginable, so rushing I'm afraid is a no, no.!!
I love it when Americans say it as you see it with British place names. War-wick castle 😂 I suppose the way we say certain words here is confusing it's wa-rick castle
The suburbs of Oxford are forever expanding with new modern colleges, but generally the architectural aesthetics of the area are maintained, and I noticed that the popularity of individual gardens is also maintained (which usually you can walk round). A local bus from the centre can give you an impression (and the passengers are nearly all students or professors).
your not wrong about the bath look, the reason is when we were invaded by the romans, alot of place names are from the romans, town and places that in in cester, like biscester, just out side oxford where i lived, are of roman decent, usually forts, other plabe names with out going ton a full list, places that in '''BY''' like grimbys are from the saxon and vikings places places, there is a whole list i wont bore you with it
Young Sherlock is going to be a streaming TV series on Prime Video. Directed by Guy Ritchie (Madonna's ex husband) and Colin Firth is in it. I am not familiar with the younger main actors. But Sherlock Holmes went to Oxford so that's why they were filming on location. Would one full day be too much at Windsor? Sounds like a full day at Warwick wuld let you attend the different events/demonstrations? Thoughts?
A hidden gem in Warwick is St Mary's Church which has the Beuchamp Chapel containing the fabulous tomb of Henry Beuchamp in effigy of him in magnificent armour. Also the tomb of Robert Dudley Elizabeth the firsts favourite and more some say. Of interest to US visitors it was the ancestral Church the Washington family with their court of arms carved in one wall. ( Stars and Stripes) the stars are actually spurs. Ian Dee.
I hope you're staying for more than just three days, because you've missed some great weather - a while ago I was basking on the beach with some friends of mine. Once summer is passed, you need more time to compensate for any rainy days.
Windsor is more what you might call a fortified palace. And a lot of the interior has no-doubt been added since. Through the centuries, fortified architecture became more flamboyant, with emphasis on style rather than fortification, and as you travel round Britain you'll get a trained eye on the era of construction of any ancient building, before anyone tells you.
If you ever go back to Oxford, I would definitely recommend the Harry Potter walking tour. You get to go inside the grounds of the university and get shown all of the filming locations.
