Love this! I've got ADHD and I can't work with binders without it feeling wrong, so I'm using an A5 notebook with the plan to set it up bullet journal style! That way when I inevitably forgot herbs (like I have already), crystals etc. I can just put it in my index and still have the ability to refer back to it!
I don't show my book of shadows to anyone because i also write my dreams down in that book. I don't want anybody to read about my detailed sex dreams 😂😂
It’s crazy how the universe provides what you NEED in the MOMENT it’s needed. Although this video is almost a year old, I’m excited to find this channel. Each witch is different, there is no specific way. I just told a fellow witch, it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been practicing, we learn new things each day. I look forward to binging your videos.

YES to the binder tip, switching from a regular notebook to a binder is what finally got me started after months of tiptoeing around it ! I kept all of my research in digital form and never wrote anything down for a long time because I was always afraid of messing things up or not knowing how to organise things. A binder takes all of that stress away. If you don't like how a page comes out it's easy to just do it again, you can organise things etc. I love that if I want to add a subject I can just start a new page, it makes it so much easier to get work done instead of being stuck because you don't know how much space you're going to need or because it doesn't go with what you wrote before. I know its not the most aesthetically pleasing choice but you can always transfer it to another book when you feel more confident !

I have never been great about recording my practise... But when I do, I break it down almost exactly like this. My BOS is my course work and my Grimoire is the finalized stuff. I have found breaking up both into sections really helps, especially when looking for something.
I am a notebook queen. I have a notebook for tarot readings specifically. I have one for crystal work. I used my bos as a journal. Documenting ideas, visions, notes, feelings, ANYTHING witchy. Witchcraft isn't homework. My Grimwoir is a reference material. I usually have that digital. If I felt the need to write it or keep it physical, binder all the way. You want to be able to find exactly what you need when you need it. Keep in mind the internet will always be there. Witchcraft is not homework. Have fun. Only write when/what you feel like.

I made my own bos binder because of you! It looks good for now but later I'll make another I'm sure. Complete with rainbow tabs and fabric with sparkly shiny planetscape. I absolutely love your idea and spent about 50 bucks getting supplies for an easy bos binder! Ill show you on insta! ❤️❤️
my grandma has this medicinal plants, herbs, and flowers' book that is so darn useful! it includes what are they used for, the parts of the plant that can be used, the contradictions, and so much more. when i have the chance, i'll include the name of the book if i get to find the english version (since her book is in spanish lol). i'm only a beginner but i recommend everyone who studies herbs and plants to study from these types of books. 😊 my best wishes and regards xx update: unfortunately, i couldn't find the english version, but the book is called "el poder medicinal de las plantas - dr. reinaldo sosa gómez" for whoever needs it :)
When I was in a store with my brother and cousins for school shopping, I found a black notebook that has a lot of glitter on it that I’ve decided to use for my book
I love your energy and as a fledgling (albeit broomcloseted) Witch just putting together a BoS your advice has made be lose some of the uncertainty of my own. My BoS was originally a sketchbook that wasn't right for my art so I ended up repurposing it. At first I was scared I was being disrespectful converting it to something sacred to my journey. After this video I was able to like that it was repurposed and how it already had a lot of me poured into it prior to my beginnings. On a lighter note, it seems between my art and witchcraft I might finally be able to get through all of those notebooks/sketchbooks/journals I've been hoarding haha.

Thank you for sharing this! I love the idea of having your "rough draft" binder and then copying it into your permanent Grimoire when you've solidified. I struggle so much with figuring out how to set mine up. I finally just started one so I had something with the knowledge that I'll end up copying it over into something different once I solidify my style/practice/knowledge. Using a binder - and gluing fabric to it - love that!! - is a really helpful idea!

Thank you for this video! It was so informative while not being over informative and anxiety inducing (that's not how I wanted to word it but couldn't find the words LOL). Everything was explained in detail while still keeping it simple and to the point. I'm a baby witch just starting out so this helped a lot! I actually ended up purchasing a Happy Planner Notes style book because I had seen it in passing and couldn't get it out of my head. I was literally having dreams of using it, so I purchased it and plan on using it as my own BOS! I love it because you can take pages in and out, add dividers, etc. I'm a planner user to begin with and love the HP brand so it felt natural to get something like that and it can still fit in my bag for on the go (mom to 3 kiddos, so I'm constantly doing outside home work in it). A binder felt too bulky for me. Thanks for sharing, I absolutely loved your video and your "grandma aesthetic"

The Book of Shadows is the staple reference and manual. A grimoire is a personal journal. Not really a big deal, they are what we created them to be right, and your are so cute, love the fur. Please don't be mad just seen no one else said anything but maybe theyre new on their path. I dont mean any harm just...yeah... Thank you for you videos. !!!
For my bos I started with journal like prompts, like "what are your interests in this subject?" Or "what would you like to gain from this?" Since I'm a baby witch I thought it'd be a good start :)

Mine is in a 3-ring binder too... with a custom cover (I actually sell BOS covers for 3-ring binders).

Thank you for this video! It was so informative while not being over informative and anxiety inducing (that's not how I wanted to word it but couldn't find the words LOL). Everything was explained in detail while still keeping it simple and to the point. I'm a baby witch just starting out so this helped a lot! I actually ended up purchasing a Happy Planner Notes style book because I had seen it in passing and couldn't get it out of my head. I was literally having dreams of using it, so I purchased it and plan on using it as my own BOS! I love it because you can take pages in and out, add dividers, etc. I'm a planner user to begin with and love the HP brand so it felt natural to get something like that and it can still fit in my bag for on the go (mom to 3 kiddos, so I'm constantly doing outside home work in it). A binder felt too bulky for me. Thanks for sharing, I absolutely loved your video and your "grandma aesthetic"
I just subscribed, i enjoy your videos and you are such an authentic spirit. Keep doing you. Just wanted to also drop that the definitions for Grimoire and a BOS is actually switched. The Book of Shadows is the staple reference and manual. A grimoire is a personal journal. Not really a big deal, they are what we created them to be right, and your are so cute, love the fur. Please don't be mad just seen no one else said anything but maybe theyre new on their path. I dont mean any harm just...yeah... Thank you for you videos. !!!
