As it relates to NATO, technically (hee hee) NATO is a defensive alliance, and Russia has not attacked a NATO member. NATO members would not vote for such a thing. And if NATO wants to go to war with Russia for its right to expand into Ukraine, then Russia was always right to claim that NATO is an aggressive alliance, an instrument of US military dominance in Eurasia, (Serbia, Afghanistan, and a number of other countries NATO has attacked), and is right to keep it out of Ukraine and Georgia, which are critical to Russian security.
