Hi there. I came across your content by accident and I really love your honesty, its rare nowadays to see people helping out each other and the keyword not being greedy. Helping people with their basic need and putting in back a little in the pocket.
Its a win win, unlike others the primary focus is to hoard all clientele.
I honestly believe you will grow your business faster and build more connection with this what you are doing now. Also you do not need to be a super expert to know alot of stuff.
Good work bro. Keep it up. Now I will be watchin all of your other videos.
Thank you so much for that really. I'm human too and sometimes I feel like I'm not enough
This was really helpful
This video is so real, thank u sir💯
Welcome!
Thank you for sharing and being very honest. I have surely learnt something about picking the right strategy that works for you. Keep going man.
Thank you let me know how it goes
Thank you so much for this, straight to the point, honest, and I respect the hustle! I’d love to see one of the basic website packages you offer in action, any chance you could send me a link to some of your work?
Also wondering, do you charge more for more extensive features?
Also good luck in your job search!
Yes charge more for more work. I'll do a work flow video soon
Thank you for this ✨
Your welcome
All the best good sir! May we both find our next job soon enough
Thank you I'll pray for you too!!
Genius , Thanks
As a tech dad myself - I salute you fellow tech dad. Subscribed!
Thank you
First, I love your content. I've been on this 'tech' journey for a few years now. I'm 52, and I've been stuck tutorial hell a few times. I'm not giving up and that is in large part because of your honesty and transparency about this field. Sharing your thoughts and ideas is so helpful. You are the real deal. You're genuinely trying to help people and that is rare. Just wanted to give you some feedback on the channel and to let you know you're keeping me inspired to not give up on this because it IS possible. Also, I hope things are looking up for you in your job search! Thanks so much and please keep the content coming!
I appreciate that. We just have to keep pushing even when it feels pointless just keep going!!! Keep me updated on your journey

Keep going :) u are doing great . Love from italy
Italy!!! Thanks
Yep, I spent 7 months looking for this job I currently have. I had to work remote as I liver far from any urban centers otherwise I could have found a job really quickly. I've been in the industry for 10 years. Tough market out there!
Glad you found a solution!!
Thank you for sharing this Sir 🙏
Welcome!
Damn this is genius trick man, thanks
I actually got it from my 14yr old son
Awesome 👏 this is why I love freelancing there’s so much freedom and variation my lead generation is different but I love to see how others do it
Curious how you generate leads
@@thetechdad87 I go in depth about this in my recent video but long story short 1) word of mouth 2) upwork 3) Twitter/X 4) sometimes LinkedIn
This video definitely made me subscribe. 😊
Thank you!!!
I appreciate the full honesty. Hope u stay like that
Ill do my best!! If I don't point me back to this comment
Thanks so much sir!!
Most welcome!
cool. good luck
It’s great you are making this work. I’ve been a developer for two decades and I’m pretty much done with the 9-5. Trading time for money and having to abide by someone else’s rules, I’m looking to build a solo business. So, I’m in a bit of a different place than you are.
To me it’s either prep for an interview with one of the big tech companies so I can get a top paying job, or build a business with some passive income sources. I’m looking to freelance to start with. And then build from there.
Anyway, thanks for the info. It’s great you’re making it work. It’s such a huge asset to be able to fund yourself in between jobs. It means you can quit on the spot if you need to without a ton of worry.
I hope to do both Higher income means more investing money!! Let me know how it goes
I just want to say thank you for this video. It's helped motivate me after a bout of depression and tutorial hell that made me get burnt out of learning web development. I really do enjoy it but I was getting frustrated with trying to find a job doing it and life. You have motivated me to get back into it and try some more! Hopefully I will be able to get some experience and a job so I may help retire my parents c: God bless
So glad to hear that!! It is a difficult road
great sirr ....
Thank you for sharing!
I'm studying for becoming a web developer. (Using The Odin Project, free online course). When I'm with it I will start job hunting. Might be cool to try this when that time comes. Will also help me build a portfolio.
Cheers!
I've heard great things about the Odin project. Let me know how it works out
u are a great Person❤ keep it up. I also learning html css java at the moment🎉
Thank you. Let me know how it goes
Thank you very much. 3:10
You're the best.
Thank you
Simple and make sense
Thanks for giving me idea
Your welcome
*Great work, brother! I'd like to see additional follow-up videos on your progression. I personally am a full-stack developer with PHP as the main backend development. Keep us posted on some of your latest work. 👍🏻👍🏻*
Will do I may do a little more detailed video of my workflow
Like your honesty
Thank you
Hey man great content was just curious how many hours do you work on a project like for example the basic 250 one like how long will it take to complete that project(deploy it)
I try to stay within the 100hr mark but willing to help more if I can tell the person needs more guidance and I up sell more services
What I can learn from this is: Don't just sit at your desk and wait for the client to come; actively look for the client.
Nice Video Brother!
Thanks!
I love your content so much, new sub from me!! keep up the good work :D
Thank you for the support and glad it helps!
Could you show us examples of websites you have done? Would be really cool and interesting.
I was going too. Most are really simple. if your really interested hop on the discord and ill show you later on
okay let's go
Awesome
That is really helpful but how do you get the designs for these sites or inspiration to make one
I'll do a more detailed video in the future. But I've built a lot so I have templates and I use AI
Thanks so much for this video
I'm a new subscriber and hoping to see more beautiful contents from you
But I have a question
When you meet them do you build a portfolio website or what website do you build for them?
Most of the time it's a landing page
This was my exact plan starting back in 2017 but I'm so crap at getting clients. Averaged about two per year. I'll have try out Nextdoor. Would you mind doing a quick video on how your $250 websites look?
Yeah ill put a more detailed one soon
Great job, man! Do you have your own website so that we can see how you do?
Im happy to share in this discord. If not a more detailed video will be coming soon
The best way to earn cash is to earn it in a job you like. Keep it up and have fun!
This is the goal!!!
very good .
i want you make video to how to help the client to host the webpage
I may do a more detailed version soon
Good video 😊 and i have two question :
- Do you do seo for clinent to make the site show in google ?
- What if the customer requests to modify the website page after a period of time, for example, adding pictures or something like that, after he has paid the price and the website is finished, do you provide support service after the product is delivered? Is it free?
Hop on discord if you want more details. I will do a follow up video with more details soon.
I am a fan!
Thanks
Hey! Your videos are amazing! I can edit them to make more engaging 🙌
I'm not ready for editor yet thank you tho
Better is to host the website for them on a larger server. You save be buying in "bulk" and can offer them cheaper hosting than most providers. You can also charge a fee for maintenance. So they can forget about their website and you get passive income from each and every client. It is a win-win.
I think I may do this in the future if this keeps growing. For now my target is to get one man businesses a site for low cost so they don't need to worry about it
I dont think those small local business they want to pay a maintenance fee, if you mention that when talking with them, they may just cancel the deal
Once you create the site, how do you go about maintaining it if the customer has no experience with maintaining html/css/js? Could you make a video going into more details about that? Great video btw!
Charge them a fee. I'll get more detailed video soon
How do you design your sites? Do you use any templates? How do you show the customer what they are getting before they commit?
discord.com/invite/MxQPJ3Wk
Nice video mate.
Just a little help about your channel and the monetisation, it’s better to do videos between 8 to 12 minutes in length
Below 8 is considered too short and above is too long
This is a sweet spot and a lot of content creators try to stick to this rule
Continue the hustle
I'm aware it could help ME but for now I just want to give the info without a bunch of fluff
That is so real and I love your for it @@thetechdad87
What do you use for site hosting? How's Zipfly?
Netfly
Legit!
Greaaat video
Thank you
Thanks a lot, but what about the hosting, how to inform them that they have to pay monthly to keep their website up and running?
I'll have video out Tuesday about the different ways but usually just netfily
To be honest that's how I got started years ago. Eventually I realised the money was in contracting so got a full time job and had a good run as a react contractor during/after the pandemic. As you are aware the industry went to shit a few years ago, I've got a full time job at least but barely keeping my head above water. Don't know whether I should just go back to my roots.
Do it on the side
It's helpful
🤩
🎉🎉🎉🎉
hey man where can i see some of your websites that you make, i would like to take notes! Keep it up!!
I don't have any posted but I'll show you on discord I think I seen you in there
@@thetechdad87 i joined yesterday, if you can show me i would love it
How long have you been learning coding? Whats your background?
Healthcare Oct 22 wrote my first hello world
@@thetechdad87 purely self taught? or did you buy some e-courses?
How do you deal with clients that ask for and admin panel where they can update their own content? Such as WordPress or something like that. I feel like that's what their will ask most of the times. Nobody want something simple where they cannot update anything...
Great question. you just have them set up an account and give you the login. But there is a whole market of people that just want a site for legitimacy that they don't have to worry about worry about it. Jump on discord if you wanna discuss more discord.gg/Hbn2rbcfmk
Good
Is it possible for your to show us a few examples of websites you’ve made
Next week I'll go over my building workflow stay tuned
Can you give us a tutorial on how to host on Netfly, I'm trying to build a page for my uncle but i'm trying to figure the host out.
I did one in the past it was my first tutorial so maybe not best quality but explains it fairly well!
I did the same as you, but when i told the clients"i am going to save you money", they were like how will this save me money
Compared to monthly or yearly fees I made a more focused video about the pitch check it out. But do research and go to them with facts and data
@@thetechdad87 i wish you do a vid on how to convince the client
@@medaminefarhat8648 I did check my channel
Netlify doesn't give free custom domain right? How you convince them with this?
No but you can host frontend work there
@@thetechdad87 thanks 👍
Tutorial on how to host Sir hehe thank you. New subscriber
Thanks for subbing I have a video on it now but its janky LOL th-cam.com/video/oKfahgH2Kh0/w-d-xo.html
@@thetechdad87 Sir how about customers bought products. How do owners know? Does need database?
Hey dad why can you continue this video as a series
Video 1) getting 1st client
Video 2) building website for him
.....etc
I'm going too I try out a video out every Tuesday
@@thetechdad87 nice dad ❤️
Not to be too nosy, but do you make enough to get by, or would you say you make a comfortable living doing this 'side hustle'. I just started my own freelance company and any insight would be really helpful. This content rules, btw
Thank you. I do not at the moment that may change but my time is divided into so many things this is only earning me about a contract a week at the moment.
Ithink the price is a little bit low for a full service, like from meeting to online. is really 250$ enought for "basic" web? with the "simple" design, responsivnes, google maps, no contact form (problem with spam) but number, email adress, about section, services section, few testimonial section. I think it a bit low, shouldn't close to 400$ (we have 2024 all is expensive) --> + extra cost of hosting and domain. what's Your opinion Guy's? sorry form my english, not my Mother Language
It is but that's just starting price and that is for people that wouldn't normally have a website because of price. I want to help people as much as I want to make money gotta find a balance
@@thetechdad87 ok, kind a type of marketing
👍
Netfly (netlify)? What is that?
💀
He meant Netlify alright :)
How many hours on average do you put in for a $250 basic package?
It's getting faster as I have more code to copy and paste but 3 hrs give or take from beginning to end
@@thetechdad87 Does that include time prospecting and meeting with the client, explaining to them how to host the website?
