We were so happy to provide camera check for this SIMON03 camera in January 2022 and we was full of optimism about future videos of different animals there in new season. But, unfortunately, on Fenruary, 24, 2022 the full scale invasion of russia on the teritory of Chornobyl Exclusion Zone started and all our plans were destroyed. There is no doubts more that the occupation of the Exclusion Zone in February 2022 significantly disrupted our scientific work, and we were unable to check this particular camera in time. Moreover, we even didn't have any idea if it will be possible to receive data from this camera. But, fortunately, at our request, the military managed to reach the camera and retrieve the data from the camera. Therefore, thanks to the coordinated efforts of scientists and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, you now have the opportunity to watch the last videos of this Browning 4K camera trap and observe red deer, roe deer, elk, foxes, wolves, badgers, raccoon dogs, lynx, otter and plenty of Przewalski's horses! How many species of animals can you spot in this video?
When you are in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, remember that wildlife behavior is unpredictable! Do not neglect personal radiation protection !!!
These studies were supported by Chornobyl Research Initiative ( cricket.biol.sc... ) and Timothy Mousseau personally. Thank you so much for your support!

Some thick healthy animals ,,,look what happens when humans disappear from the picture ! Nature comes back to flourish !
Provided it doesn't completely starve, that breed of horse will be just as heavy if it lives in a city or a desert. Its genes dictate that.
You are right do us a favor and disappear from the picture. If you believe what you wrote you know what to do.
@@SebasLarocque why so bitter about a simple truth. Saying nature is better off without us is a fact. Our activities disturb the natural order of things
Horse called Przewalski wild horse originally from Mongolia.Awsome, and she looked pregnant.❤
Excellent! They're getting critically close to endangered.
That’s exciting to see the mare there. That was an unexpected surprise
Love how the Przewalski horse is clocking the camera immediately and really getting into it.
Przewalskis horse are absolutely beautiful. Primitive.
An actual wild horse❤
I started watching this footage and my cat is TOTALLY FASCINATED by the horses! He got closer to the tv just to watch. Ive never seen him this capivated by images on the TV before! I think the addition of the ambient noises have captured his attention. I too love learning about the Cherynobl Exclusion Zone! Thanks for the video!
I've watched footage of Cherynobl and it's extremely interesting.
Lots of humans still live in the area too despite the media saying they dont. Pripyat may be a ghost town but villages still have people living in them, growing food etc. Bald and Bankrupt did loads of videos...
media never knows anything or ever tells the truth about anything these days!
@@lindanorris2455 Absolutely paranoid people must find it hard to survive. No job or school would be willing to put up with them.
11:55 Those are Przewalski's horses! The only truly wild horse left in the world!
They actually migrated over from North America before the big flood/comet impact 11,600 years ago which killed off the North American wild horses until the Spanish reintroduced them..
They’re rare horses. I would love to have one or two…..to keep as lawn ornaments/pets. Although, I’ve been told that they’re mean….nothing like the domesticated breeds.
Now referred to as Mongolian Wold Asses.
@@davidlaney6153 There was no flood/comets. 😆Just waves of deadly humans that wipes out whole species like a disease.
I heard that as compared with other nature reserves in the area, the Chernobyl exclusion zone has way more wolves and lynx because there are no humans. The animal population had reproductive and birthing problems the first 6 months after the meltdown, but since then they have really not noticed any differences in the animals.
Amazing to see a wild herd of the Przewalski Horse !...... I thought that all remaining animals of this ancient breed were in captivity. All seem in excellent health....and obviously this game trail leads to a water source. The first time I saw one of these horses....was at a "Game Park" in New York State in 1962......I was 5 years old. There were numerous animals that noticed the camera strapped to the tree.....but the horse was the only one that actually checked it out.....sniffing it and touching it. Thanks so much for the post...!
I think that's a female elk, not a horse (at the end sniffing at the camera).
I believe their largest population is in the radiation zone
@@PetarPopara At time 19:00....horse walks to the left and behind tree.....and sniffs camera at 19:19. At 19:40..... horses muzzle clearly visible. I didn't re-watch the entire video.....I could have easily missed another animal right at the camera. I'm guessing that most all of those animals could smell the metal/plastic/human smells of the object on the tree. I'm often jealous of other mammal's olfactory abilities.....we can barely smell a thing compared to many other mammals...!
They have been reintroduced to their native Mongolia years ago and are thriving there. Every now and then they add new bloodlines from captivated przwalskies but they also keep some captivated bloodlines pure in case they need it to revive the wild herd. But, looking at Icelandic Horses who all decent from only a few horses survive already 1000 years in healthy population, they will be fine even with inbreeding.
@@PetarPopara Elks and horses look nothing alike! Not even close! Near the end a moose goes near the camera. I never saw any elk in this video.
My dumb ass clicked on this, expecting some gross mutated animals. Instead it's wholesome footage of regular wild-horses, deer and foxes living their normal life, like in every other forest. Like these woods have already forgotten what happened there a few decades back.
This just proves, whatever we humans do to this planet, no matter how bad we screw up: in the end, nature always wins and life prevails.
Animals are not living long enough to show signs of radioactive contamination. Insects are not contaminated anyway.
That's not even how radiation works in humans.
Most "mutations" are internal and just result in probably an early death in infancy. Probably not even visible from the outside.
not as long as humans live through it to.
Don't bet on that!
Natural selection is one hell of a lord
Just goes to show Wildlife will always adapt, survive and watching this despite the circumstances thrive 😊
Very interesting reading about these horses, it's fascinating. Almost extinct and now flourishing in Chernobyl exclusion zone.
At first i thought they were donkeys but no, an ancient native breed.
Don't know about the rest? but those horses are real deal, worth 2 minutes to check out.
Это дикие лошади Пржевальского. Это не местный вид, их завезли на Зону.
Nature will out survive mankind.
Thank goodness ... sadly, all the handbag dogs wont survive either.
@@MysteStorm Very true. Most if not all won’t survive because of unnatural breeding practices.🥺
Seems like the world would get along very well without humans.
41:33 it's so scary how radiation can disfigure a horse
😂😂😂I hope you’re kidding, but strangely enough, I think you might actually be serious!🤣🤣🤣
😂 I love sardonic humor.
We all know it's a moose.
Classic comedic comment❤😂
Реально. Вона перетворилася на лося
The male pony seemed to be testing the wind speed and direction... or maybe taking the barometric pressure
By the way, thank you for sharing your trail footage of Chernobyl. It's good to see these animals truly free and living well. Especially the przewalskis! ❤❤
All of these animals seem to be healthy and doing fine. Interesting how they moved back into the area after people left.
Those animals all look so healthy without any visible deformities. Incredible! I love those horses, some of them look pregnant.
Don't know anything about radiation, do you?
@@FireproofCrane
They said visible. Hard to see dna.
@FireproofCrane dude, you just said in another comment that the animals die from cancer caused by the radiation but also don’t have mutations? Do YOU know what radiation is, or what mutations are? Cancer is caused by disruptions to cellular function mainly due to mutations in their DNA ;-;
Looks like a Przewalski's horse. Really pleased to see that, and it looks as if she may foal in the early Spring.
One of the few places on the planet where you can find truely wild, unmanaged horses.
you don't see the real story, it's the horse kind from asian stepps, which is extinct there because of humans, you see them here because it's experiment, somewhat cruel to restore population here, but it succeed, you won't see this horse anywhere else on planet
Exciting! A Przewalski's horse! Well fed, healthy looking.
Like others have noted.. they do look extremely healthy. Nature looks after itself. Thanks for sharing this. 👍
Ironic how the animals sense the camera. This was a good water hole spot.
it emits high pitch sound only some people can hear, and all animals become aware of. the camera probably smells too
Those horses be looking like they’re eating good.
They're a mutated breed that now also eat wild boar whole
36 years later, i would expect the strong survive. They are flourishing as well. Herds of horse, moose, and deer. All kinds of small animals. It's amazing. I remember the day it happened, it's good to see renewal. ❤
There’s a strangely relaxing quality to this trail cam footage, especially considering that the animals in the exclusion zone appear to be normal-or that they are naturally oblivious to the chaos going on around them, as there seems to be no showing of military activity in the trail can footage.
Wildlife is remarkably resilient in the face of all this danger, and chaos.
Didn’t Russia invade Ukraine around February 24th, this appears to be January 7, 2022
Those animals look well fed & healthy.
I can't be the only one that thought they were lions in the thumbnail for a second
5:00 Astounding how one horse was able to raise the temperature from -6 ºC to -2 in less than 2 minutes.
Stunning footage, no nasty humans around to disturd these beautifull wild animals😊
👌🏽
There are also some isolated people still living in the area. Nature of the world will be better off with out human pressure.
It’s great to see the wild horses doing so well
Cool video, i did not expect to see wild horses,
badgers, boar, elk, deer, horses, wolves, fox, OMG!
Yes, it's really amazing. About 10 species of "big" animals are normal for Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.
Don't know about you but they look happy, well fed and in good condition. With all these problems we have in the UK, I might just move here lol! Great footage ❤
It's the "no humans on this map" Earth glitch. Turns out human's worst nightmare is natures ultimate preserve.
This is so cool. Chornobyl has always fascinated me.
Same here. Always thought it would be a good place to live.
Enjoyed that, love the horses so wild looking, not like farm horses at all
I was surprised at how healthy these horses were.
That's because they are wild, not feral. Przewalski's horses, introduced to replace the now sadly extinct native species of wild horse, the tarpan.
@@nathalieleroch6658 though what is true, as they consume in that or another grade contaminated food, they have a chronic internal exposure of their organs. However, the effects of that become visible generally in far longer timespan than average lifespan of the horse is. Though this does not exclude a chance that at some point accumulated effects won't do genetic changes.
That’s a Przewalski horse! They are the only true wild horses existing in the world. He looks pretty fat and healthy too. Radiation must agree with him.

It's so interesting how pristene and healthy the wildlife looks there.Damn horse is thiqq.
of course they notice the trail cam, it is something different in their environment. Wild animals will notice changes like that. But, once they figure out it isn't something to harm them, they will ignore it. I didn't realize there were moose in that part of the world!

Beautiful! I think the Wild horses liked being on camera 😂❤🎉
I was in graduate school during the second half of the 1990s. We had a seminar speaker who was a wildlife biologist, and had been to Chernobyl with one of the first teams to survey the after-effects of the nuke meltdown. His words: "I'm not supposed to say this, but everything looks great!" They were actually told not to say anything good about the animal life in the region of the plant, because that would 'give the wrong message.' It was like an animal paradise. They also learned that the worst after-effect for the local people was alcoholism and depression from being forced to move from their life-long homes - NOT the radiation. People were torn from houses their parents were born in, and separated form life-long friends. Just to be safe. The population clearance did more harm than the radiation ever did. Remember, Hiroshima and Nagasaki were repopulated rapidly after the end of WW II - the Japanese just got on with it. Chernobyl was a truly man-made disaster, both during and after.
Very interesting. Thanks for the info! 🙂
On 3/1 one can hear jets flying in the distance. The war is coming!
Nuclear weapons creation and their usage is abhorrent. There's no need for them.
Hiroshima/Nagasaki were also an Air Burst munition. Ground level fallout wasn't as bad as the Chernobyl meltdown, where large amounts of radiation were spread over a wide area. Completely different situations.
@@nbmooselovers their information is wrong.
I've come to think that animals definitely notice cameras. I'm almost 100% sure of it. Not that they understand the concept, but maybe they notice the lens and how it resembles an eye or something. If not, how come they always make "eye contact" with it. Not just in this video, but in pretty much every video that I see. They always look straight at the camera, as if they're wondering what's looking at them.
Yeah. They can see cameras. They’re not invisible.
32:39 horses hooves are really needing a trim
It’s a wild horse
Keeps looking directly into camera. 😂 2:30
Just the lens reflecting some light. Animals are very in tune with their surroundings and they are always looking for danger. As far as their health goes it seems that they are ok, but these animals could have migrated into the exclusion zone. A gieger counter would probably have you a different perspective. Just to set up the camera requires a monitor to be worn and if it alarms you, it’s time for you to leave immediately.
This is a true wild horse from the ice age. Not sure how to spell it. Something like, Pryswelsky? Look it up.
Przwalski’s Horse.
Close?😊

There used to be a docu on how it became a Paradise for animals and hardly any genetic damage in offspring. Since a few months they are again trying to change that story.
That's a pipe dream of people that have a bias of anti-humanism. "Everything's better without people." Sadly - It's a study of survivorship bias. Only healthy offspring make it, to be studied at all. One can't count the millions of spontaneous abortions, stillbirths, mutant/abandoned young now can we?
What's also grim - only the migratory animals are doing ok. But the insects, amphibians that stay in radioactive water - are largely absent in areas. It's eerie quiet at night, and should not be.
Horses/boar/wolves are doing "ok":
It's because they spend so much of their time (in the important fetus/baby stage) OUTSIDE of the exclusion zone. (The ones that mostly live.)
While they're in it - they're racking up Rads. The luckiest are those with pregnancies that occur while the creatures are outside the zone.
Those you see on camera now, pregnant, are not going to have good success chances for their offspring.
They're eating radioactive food, they'll give radioactive milk. :(
We can imagine what happened to the animals, based on what happened to people. The USSR tried to suppress statistics, but the mostly women affected, talked. To each other. About their shared heartbreaks.
(The Russians I interviewed while I was there all said a lot of the Ukranians / Belarusians they knew had self-reported a LOT of mutations requiring abortions/ causing stillbirths. We're talking about babies with gigantic heads and pea-sized brains. Awful. I can't tell you the rest of the details, it's too gruesome.
Just, don't believe the hype. This is a man-made disaster. No way around it.
Those animals look pretty healthy!!!
Just knowing EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL is full of radiation is sad. One of the deer had a HUGE lump on her left upper thigh. One the deer was so radiated it was sad. These animals look normal but their meat is lethal. I wish the best for them all.
In time they will adapt. Animals are fantastic that way.
it's a race with time, neutrons activity slowing by time, with constant reproduction and gene editing you're getting to cleaner habitat in future, yes some decay take thousands years
it appears radiation has imbued this horse with the ability to feel me watching him
Just able to see the light from the camera. Worked security and some led IR lights are easy to see, better ones not so much but some animals can see those wavelengths and might even help avoid radiation in concentrated spots.
@@charlesmaurer6214 interesting
That was a surprising diversity. Maybe it shouldn't have been, but I found it a wonder nonetheless. I especially enjoyed how the horses really seem to recognize that the camera is something important and spend a lot of time watching it.
Hoping all of these are able to breed offspring that are healthy, Hope they are tracked but never captured and studied by humans.

Deformed animals most loikly would not survive…survival of the fittest
It generally appears rather difficult for multiple heads to duplicate fully without major internal complications, and the locomotion of the animals may still be greatly impacted as the balancing organ is altered and there is multiple visual inputs.
Animal life span is too short to show medical problems these horses can live over 30 years so would be good scientific study
Seem like they wouldn’t have been born and wouldn’t have been born normal if they were still having issues. That horse looks healthier than most I see. The wolf looks pretty good too. They are not deformed.
They all seem so very healthy.
Wow, i had no idea that we have bobcats in Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Excellent footage.
Bobcats (lynx) is a typical animal in the zone. There are not too much of them, but we regulary see them on trail cameras.
Well, It looks like elevated background rediation and war are markedly less detrimental to wildlife than human habitation.
Very nice video clips. Some animals i did not expect to see. Obviously, no sterility problems. Those wooly stocky horses look to be prime. How many people live in the zone? Best wishes.
This is so weirdly relaxing.
Wild pryzwalski horses?
I have it on certain authority that those so-called Pzrewalski horses are, in truth, survivors from the East German women’s volleyball team from the late 1960’s.
That is really interesting I was wondering and glad they are loose and apparently thriving. Gorgeous animals ❤️
It’s like all the animals know they are being watched right there. They seem to be aware
rare russian horses = an older breed than your ordinary horse ! = is it praznovski horses ? who knows - ?
They certainly look like them.
Yes thay are
No one looks too skinny!
Well, I didn't see any six legged horses or two-headed deer! It may be fairly safe. They all seemed healthy.
They may LOOK OKAY, healthy even, but EVERYTHING from bears to insects and plants, are extremely radioactive. There are some, NOT many, obvious mutations that have been recorded. Please do some research elsewhere and you will see the hidden danger that will persist for another 24K years.
Another related topic is the recent occupation of Chernobyl by invading Russians and the aftereffects of that exposure. I'm pretty sure Putin ordered it; they were guinea pigs: "Chernobyl Workers Reveal Occupying Russian Soldiers Showed Signs Of Radiation Poisoning" - th-cam.com/video/DiEQoWAv6vE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=360ie-oOX_zRnhGI
Please don't buy into the propaganda that Chernobyl is safe as it most definitely IS NOT SAFE.
The unhealthy ones die quickly because in the wild, they are killed by predators.

This is incredible how even after a nuclear disaster to now being in the middle of an active war zone nature persists, it will never seize to amaze me, just a personal opinion but I think abandoned towns and cities should be turned into nature reserves
From my point of view, abandoned places become nature reserves in themselves. And, once again, it is my personal opinion that everything we see now in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone was not there thanks to the reserve, but on the contrary, the reserve was created in this place precisely because nature found itself in such a situation.
Noble idea, but I wouldn't trust people/authorities on calling the shots on what counts as really abandoned.
