Oh my, a version of this was in one of my first piano books along with lyrics. Short sampling" Papa Hayden's Dead and Gone, but his music lingers on."😅

You would be hard pushed to dance a waltz to this as it's in 2-4 time where as a waltz is in 3-4 time. 🙄
@@Bemusedlemon1you are correct,🤗would the Viennese waltz be more suitable since it is considered a faster waltz? I hope you are doing well.
The viennese waltz is in 6/8 time, so this wouldn't work either. But I get what you mean.
Actually, you could dance a Pavane on the tune. Waltzes had not been invented in Haydn's time...

A competent performance as always, however it loses something in the transcription. The whole point of this piece is to surprise the audience, who were prone to nodding off, with those surprise one-beat chords played fff, designed to wake people up.
