  • This is a simple, easy and fastest way to make shaggy rugs at home. the video gives a clear step by step illustration. this works faster than the latch hook method that requires you to cut all the yarn before attaching them on the mat one by one.
For the materials, you will need:
    Rug Canvas : amzn.to/3BkOesf
    3mm crochet hook: amzn.to/3ZHDxul
    medium weight yarn: amzn.to/3JALDiG
    yarn needle: amzn.to/3ywALfl
    pair of scissors: amzn.to/3ZJE1zY
marker if you're drawing different patterns on the mat.
    If you're in Kenya, you can also get the supplies here;
    1. gosrani traders - Eldoret
    2. amito stores/former poonam/ nyanza woolen.-kisumu
    3. Atuls(biashara street), osona yarns - Nairobi
    Chapters:
    00:00 - intro
    00:13 - materials
    01:30 - border
06:46 - starting from one end.
    13:10 - changing color
    15:04 - working longer rows
16:32 - a look at the back side
    16:41 - the final look.

This is AMAZING!!! Back in the 70's, latch-hooked rugs were really popular, except you needed a latch hook and you used individual cut pieces of yarn. So tedious. I am so happy I found another way to do this more efficiently and with great results. Thank you so so much!!

This is fantastic!!!!! I've been wanting to cover my floor in 100% wool rugs to act like carpeting (but can be cleaned much easier). Normal wool rug prices are in the $1000 range. I want to make my own to save money but the only handmade rug techniques I've found use smelly carpet adhesive or latch hooking.
This is so much faster and doesn't use glue!!! I can cover my floor in a month with this technique!
    Thank you so much!!!!!
    Thank you so much

Oh my goodness, this is genius!! I’ve been crocheting for years and can’t even begin to try to count how many latch hook kits I’ve gotten for my kids over the years so they’d have a project too. I don’t think they ever finished any of them before losing interest with those little pieces of yarn or losing half of the yarn. This is such a quick and easy way to do it, thanks for sharing
