Great video as usual,a wealth of information and couples funny, for anyone that have a companion and do activities together. You guys are absolutely amazing!
Second comment; I drove I-17 after watching this. After 50 years of flagstaff to PHX trips, I will never look at that area the same. Tanks again for the education and the sights.
So Cool. Thanks for the post. I have to admit flying over it makes me look at it differently also. I love flying in that area. So much to see! Arizona is sure full of Adventure...I have lived here my whole life and still find it amazing.
From Santa Ana California!!…what a spectacular video, apart from the views that they offer us and share with us with that beauty of the trip and the extraordinary hang glider…. I congratulate you for that quality of video!
Hey Roger and Diane; That's another "cool" video ha ha. Yes, Diane, you are a very good sport! I know the cold can make a person feel depressed. I'm sure glad you made it through that in good spirits. That one area in Cottonwood, I believe is Dead Horse Ranch State Park, not Wild Horse. That rock fence, I would like to know what that was for, also. Thanks for the video, Brother and Sister.
LOL... after we were watching the video we did wonder if if was Dead Horse and looked on the Web and saw both names. It sure has been a colder winter this year compared to last.
No idea about the wall but will make a comment anyway. At 5:10 with you not giving up the spare gloves........AAAAHHHHHHH!!! Very interesting and informative as always. That last approach looks like a normal one for me some days. Thanks again for all the effort editing Diane. I'll make it there one day.
Hey Sierraromeo thanks for watching and commenting! Glad to see someone appreciates the historical information. I love that kind of stuff. It is like flying in a mysterious world.
Another great video Diane. I really enjoy hearing Roger explaining what we are seeing. Looking forward to the next video, and hopefully you will have the proper clothing!
I’ve worn both “shoes”... Cold but great flight…. Great narration. Im thinking of flying around Lake Havasu sometime… you two are on my “notify before flight” list…
Fantastic video! Great scenery! Glad to see the new vid and ya'll are in good health. As for him not preparing you with correct clothing he should be sentenced to 7 days of eating COLD spaghetti. Happy New year and live safe.
Ha Ha...I was sentenced! I already ate the cold spaghetti...Diane is such a great sport and we laughed a lot at ourselves. Thanks for commenting and watching.
We laughed at ourselves making this video. One minute Diane is hollering and the next minute she is appreciating a house in a river bed. Seatbelt, Check, Chinstrap, Check, Throttle, Check, Diaper......Full
Loved the diaper check haha! You two are awesome! Looking at the video I can say it was big air, and those desert dry air thermals are sharp. That ridged frame handled it like a champ, I’d have bowed out!!!! I can take 600 to 800 up, but add that sharp dry air with the exit down draft… ekkk I get all sorts of pucker factor going on lol. You are faster than me, but we should do that northern flight. I get about 36mph mid trim, I’d imagine your in the 50s to 60s at trim tho.
I really don't know. I thought maybe the Indians used it to force game in one direction so they could hunt them. Your guess could be correct though. Thanks for Watching!
That rock wall almost has a look of a road runner Diane, in my thermal flying we learn to look for thermal trigger points. You can look to the terrain and it will give you clues where the sun heats the earth, the wind mixes it and then the thermal breaks off and rises. There are chapters on it and with the flying I do when in free flight trim seek those triggers. Roger handled that turbulence like a pro!!! Stop scaring him!!! Lol
I’m not too fond of the sharp side. Lol. I imagine it’s more intimidating in a paramotor. I will have to learn more about those triggers. Thanks! Diane
Thanks guys. I enjoyed that, and your stories. BUT at the moment as you will understand, I am trying to avoid turbulence for a while. The main thing is I am giving it a go and back in the air. God bless.
Chief: Ok so todays work rosta is as follows.. Little Bear, Fetching water duty. Drinks too much firewater. you are building the walls for a new round house. 11:22
I thought about that, I also thought that maybe the Indians used it to force their game a certain direction and then hunted behind it. That or a defensive wall. I would really like to know and I especially appreciate your comment on making me think. When we hiked up to the indian Ruin in this video, I found an area that looked to me like they had used it to funnel water. Those people were rugged. We drank all of our water just to get up there like i said in the video.
I've been really cold in hang gliders but at much higher altitudes. It seems like the lower oxygen makes it worse. In a hang glider you are laying down more out of the wind at lower airspeed. That helps. Her jacket looks nice but not much wind protection.
❤ Love it! Thanks for sharing again, guys! Roger's Dumb and Dumber reference made me laugh! How far are you guys from Moab, UT? Stunning scenic flying!!
Thanks!! So glad you got the Dumb and Dumber. LOL.. 381 miles flying to Utah. That would be awesome. We spent time there this summer in our RV. Love it there!
About 250 miles as the Crow flies! 4 hours with some reserve. Normally we have to go to the restroom before we ever come close to running out of gas. I flew to Cottonwood and back without filling up. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@soiboughtabus9563 I know what you mean. They seem to be the best that I have worn. I have flown with other types but now when i go back to those in other planes i can really say other types aren't as quiet, warm or comfortable. I have had several of them for over 5 years. I had to replace the microphones in them but that was a pretty easy soldering job.

Great flying... Lovely diversity and terrain with historical information. Good video and awesome Trike that handles the turbulence.

Bumpy is on thing but also being uncomfortable from the elements exacerbates the situation.
Part of a corral?

I believe that wall was possibly the partial remains of a livestock enclosure, but could have been constructed during some historical battle?
Yes we were thinking the same possibilities. Very interesting for sure. Hopefully we can check in out on the ground sometime.

I’m thinking the lonely fence row may be a permaculture endeavor to collect water run off in a specific area?

One question, how far can you fly with full tank of gas.
