It's amazing how limited and bad the information is about them in English (I say this as someone who doesn't read Japanese). Someone really needs to write a book about them and the whole 1980s Japanese electronic music "scene". By which I include not only conventional artsy types with record albums but the people who were making the instruments, writing incidental music for things like video games, etc. It's a historical scene increasingly recognized as formative for all sorts of later and better-known things worldwide, but most of the connections have not been drawn out and explained, or the commonly assumed explanations are all wrong.
