Sow and cub Brown Bears fishing at Mikfik Creek

This footage is from our visit to McNeil River in June, 2009. Here a brown bear sow and her likely 2 1/2 year-old cub fish at the uppers falls on MikFik Creek, Red Salmon are running very thick and the bears are being very selective on what parts they eat. The cub is apparentlly just learning how to fish...

It's not endless, it's a short season and then it's back to berries, bugs and grass.

This river full buffet does not motivate cubs enough fishing hard. Too easy to get a meal from mommas board.... They do not seem very hungry. Cubs let fish after another go...

That cub is not very hungry, it must not realize the hunger it will feel when it wakes up next spring it seems a little nervous to though

Grizzlys say 800 pounds and the Kodiak in more colder northern sections at 1500 pounds but they have same Grizzled hair muscle hump for digging and the muscle hump is all ready on a new born cub with short ears and why the cutness was named TEDDY BEAR 🐻. black bears are brown bears when there hair is brown . Species the same but get the shape and facts strait. like a car a ford is not a chevy just because they are the same Color.
