- My biker friends and I took a little all-girls trip to the Etosha National Park in Namibia. It was quite an experience riding our bikes up to the park and exploring the park and all the wildlife in it in our car with all my friends. In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I was raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. Hard to imagine that much of Africa used to have such quantities of game. To see rhino, elephant and other big game in the same spot at the same time is amazing.
You got absolutely STUNNING, AMAZING shots in Etosha!! Wow, I was glued to the screen! And I'm a South African who got to visit the Kruger quite a few times. Never have we come across so much wildlife in such a short time! Wow!

Great to see wild life still around to see in their natural habitat. My memories go back 60 years or more when we used to go on safari during school holidays when we lived in Dar es Salaam, we went mostly in my dads car, but when we went to the rim camp on Ngorongoro my dad had to hire a jeep and guide to go down to the lake in the crater bottom. On the Serengeti planes on the way we could see thousands of animals of every description, I wonder if they are still there.

Its what every lone rider needs from time to time, a meet up and good relaxation alongside animals not normally seen in such numbers.

That's not allowed in our wildlife park's. They hunt for their own food.

What’s so unique about the giraffe’s gait? They move both their right legs and then both left legs in unison, which gives them a very cool strut, almost a swagger. Surprisingly fast, giraffes on the run can reach a top speed of 35 mph, but only in brief bursts. What else walks like a giraffe? Camels do, which in part explains the giraffe’s scientific name: Giraffa camelopardalis.
