And what's more is that she always accompanies it with the evocative production behind the lyrics,, hence why getaway car production-wise sounds like you're driving a car at night trying to run away from something,, cruel summer sounds like how summer feels like,, august sounds like sitting at the beach in a sunset scene in august etc.

This is a beautiful song. I honestly feel what makes it sad is that Tom and Taylor could have had a great relationship, but she knew that they wouldn't from the beginning. What makes it sadder is that people refuse to see it's an apology to him (Tom) from Taylor (I'm a recent Swifie and Hiddlestoner, so I'm listening to all of Taylor's songs now, I feel bad for both. But they've moved on, so should we).
Well it's really up to interpretation, but I just wanted to point out how people weren't really opened to more ideas of interpretation. In my opinion, the line "I was crying in a getaway car, I was dying in a getaway car" signifies Taylor's understanding that she was wrong from the very beginning and shouldn't have done this. It's just sad that swifties are the one's dragging her by constantly mentioning her exes, I just want people to treat Taylor like an adult but not flat out tear another person down in support of her (or the other way around).

But then, because they began wrong and they pursued through wrong, they had to end up wrong. That's why it's so heartbreaking. A love that you can never have.
