as a vicentina, I congratulate you because you have not forgotten anything and you have also been very original in choosing dishes that are sometimes not so well known among foreigners. good job mark💪🏻
My husband was stationed there in the army when we met and he just sent me this video. Now being in the States you made me miss home and made me so happy that you haven't missed any dish and our aperitivo time! The aperitivo is something that is importat and that the States should definitely add.. Thank you for this video
Thank you Mark. Nice video. Next time you come here I suggest to try "Gnocchi alla Fioretta", if you love our cheese this gnocchi will be unforgettable. The right place to buy should be Recoaro town but you will find also in Vicenza
We have eaten this. My friend, Nena, also taught me how to make it. I cannot get the exact ingredients in the US but with some experimenting I can make something very very similar. 😉 -Jocelyn (Mark's wife)

Hey Mark, they call vicentini magnagatti because there was a legend that Venice rent Vicenza some cats against rats in 17 century but they never give back. So peoples start to think that vicentini eat them. PS. we really eat them during WW2 but probably lot of other country did that.
That is common in all wars; during the siege of Vicksburg during the American Civil there were no cats, dogs, or rats left in the city. In parts of east Asia dog and cat is still eaten. Here in Sicilia I love eating horse, but Americans find it...yucky LOL I love the food videos!
I'm sorry you feel that way. We have spent weeks there almost every year for over a decade. We have friends from there who are like family to us and we love the city. But not every place is for every person. I hope you find the place that fits you someday.
