This video is a remake of one I did 3 years ago, at the time I was new to making the “OG Things” series for Supercell games and the brawl one was a one-off thing. Also, I just feel like being “OG” today means something entirely different than 3 years ago 😂
My opinion is that, even though the NEWER, COMPETITIVE Brawl Stars is still fun, it could never ever be like the old Brawl again (during 2019 - 2020 period) Those times had wayyyyyyyy lesser brawlers and the game was peaceful. Saving up boxes, when the token/star tokens were a thing, and opening them at the day of the update with a new brawler and actually getting them was marvellous!! Nothing can beat that!
Oh boy i really miss grinding tokens for the boxes it was so much entertaining collecting and doing one of the biggest F2P unboxing in history of your entire life like it felt the world was coming to an end.
The Brawl Stars team knew how much we missed gems in boxes. So they added 10 gems to the most depressing box ever spawned: the Omega Box... Which I have learned was only 2 mega boxes and 10 gems. R.I.P boxes. You shall forever be missed.
I originally thought star drops were better than boxes, but after realizing how easy it was to get gadgets and star powers from boxes it's really no contest. Not to mention the generous amount of coins you'd get when none of your brawlers needed power points anymore
Hey! F2p since 2019 here. Starr drops are much much better than boxes. Also why should we get more coins so easily? This is a free game, and imo, the amount of coins I get for free is enough
Just a correction at 7:00 , gems were removed when the brawl pass got released. So you could never actually get gems from boxes for the brawl pass so it limited it to 90 gems per season.
I remember saving like 60 or more boxes to try and get gene and didn’t get him after opening all, then later found out he got removed to fix the bug and I opened them while he was still removed
Mortis in Beta ( He was a Tank brawler with attacks dealing less damage but a insane long dashe and the best star power at the time, creapy harvest before the rework was super OP )
something that i think only oldies remember (myself included) is upcoming skins showing up in the skin section of the shop, i vividly remember seeing ultra driller jacky on that part of the shop with "coming soon..." where the price would be.
Man i remember the days of saving up gems buying the mega boxes and getting disappointed and then getting the tokens for a small box and whatever the other one was(idk)and getting like a brawler from it was annoying and now nostalgic
9:44 siege matches took way longer than the other gamemodes. This is why it gave more trophies. Supercell then made it shorter - to the same duration as the other gamemodes like gem grab, heist
Man i remember racing with my friends who can get the most trophies in a week and we would all grind away and it was so fun or doing unboxings with a lot of big boxes those times were diffrent i miss the old brawl stars
I almost wish supercell would release a part of the game which is all like the beta days, minus the old progression. Like you play portait, only brawlers til Leon are there with the old non 3D models… back like the literal wild west days

My max of boxes that I could keep before opening them was I think about 550 brawl boxes and 60-70 big boxes. Then one day the temptation was too strong and I opened them all. I got like 4 epics, two mitichs and 1 legendary brawler. Those were the days.
I used to play bs back when it got released i saw it in the cr news i played it maybe 3 months after its release and the nostalgia hit hard with this video i stopped playing this game because the devs of bs were changing or deleting every fun thing in the game and when they deleted brawl boxes i got furious and deleted the game i just download the game to check what's new and i couldn't buy the brawl pass with gems like i used too so i went back to my favorite clash of clans 😁 although this game *WAS* good now i don't recommend it
@@micah4973 Before, Brawlers like El Primo or Frank couldn’t charge their Supers by being hit from the enemy . Also, brawlers like Buzz or Buster didn’t exist back then
@@supremeking6694 Ok you're talking about tanks. But most brawlers still need to attack to charge their super (even if technically now Max's hypercharge can charge them without attacking).
Some people might say your faking no I'm not. I started 6 years ago. I Rember all of this. I Rember there where only 36 brawlers (sum like that) my friends in my school long time ago told me about brawl starts after I grinded the game I got over 10k trophys back than that was a lot for me. I quit the game beacuse I got in trouble and my step dad broke my iPad where I had all my brawlers. I Rember there was a glitch that let's you beat robo rumble. Thanks for reading this:)
i wanna start a protest against supercell to get the buyable brawlpass back and to make it so the amount of gems u spend on buying it you will recieve as rewards in the pass so you can get the pass every season and not just ones every 3 seasons like it used to be
