This is one of my favorite episodes the way the different pieces of the puzzle come together over the course of the plot is just perfect.

I love how Randy being allergic to cats ends up being important to the plot! This show is great at things that seem like they're just jokes at first but end up being vital to the climax of the episode.

This show was absolutely brilliant with employing the principle of "Chekhov's Gun" in pretty much every episode. Loved it for that.

I kind of wish we had more episodes without homicides. For one, they make things more interesting and varied. For another, I can't buy that _this many_ murders occur in San Francisco (they don't).

It was implied that the events of the series took place over a period of time comparable to the real-world period of time in which the series aired. Monk ran for 125 episodes from mid-2002 to the end of 2009, or 7.5 years. Based on a rough estimate of San Francisco population and murder rates off the internet, there are probably around 36.5 murders per year. So the number of murders over the time that the show took place would have been around 36.5 * 7.5 or 273.75 (round to 274). Some episodes had multiple murders, but others didn't have any, or took place outside San Francisco, so the number of murders that would have occurred in San Francisco over the same time would have far exceeded what was shown over the 125 episodes of Monk.
That many murders do occur in San Francisco, but there certainly wouldn't have been that many attached to an intriguing and television-appropriate mystery, where the same consulting detective was called in to assist.

You are also ignoring the episodes that would of had the murder put down as a suicide or an accident IRL that also need to be taken into account

Monk and the kid was so touching yet so sad..
There were that episode where the girlfriend of Stottlemeyer accused Monk of touching her, she get a well-earned treatment for her lies, that was satisfying.
Also, a crew from a radio mocked Monk with his obssession with wipes, turned out that the "leader" taught a dog how to turn the gas on, killing his wife. He got the last laugh.
Monk is so great, so are the characters!
