They will not make a bowl game. I said the same thing last year when they were 5-3. You can feel it when the season is over. I don’t see another win this year.
I feel the same way but after rethinking it there are a lot of senior who I think will make a stand and not accept being Bowl-less in their last season. Combined with raiolas potential ankle injury, I think satterfield may start relying on the run game more. That will only work so much if we can find an identity at running but I think we can improve enough throughout the next few weeks to take down just one more team, if not maybe two and a long shot but 3. I’m confident in one more win. But 7-5 is the minimum standard I believe with our improved roster and 2nd year under Rhule. A bowl game isn’t enough this year given our roster and if we can’t even get to 6 then coaching changes need to happen. Starting with an OC who’s in alignment with the HC in playcalling.
Gifford summed up the problem in his press conference appearance after the Indiana beatdown when he said this wasn't his first ass-whoopin'. Indiana was just one more ass-whoopin'. Ohio State will be just another ass-whoopin'. It may be time to start benching starters with a losing mentality and those who refuse to do their jobs (wide outs) on the field and start burning redshirts. Forget stockpiling all those supposedly talented freshman and sophomores for the future. The time to win is now. If we don't go to a bowl game again this year, in year 2 of Rhules reign? That will mean we lost our last 6 straight games. Not good. Not good at all. The honeymoon would definitely be over.
The concerns I have are the trend over the last 4 games is much less offense. I think the reason for this is playing Big 10 competition, and a lack of coaching chops with Nebraska.
Had four chances to win game six last season and could not do it. This year it would take losing 5 more in a row, 6 consecutive in total. Husker could lose to all the remaining teams with the exception of UCLA and even the Bruins got better last week. Looks like a tough finish. 6 total wins might get the Sta-bil additive bowl in Rockford, Illinois.
I guess I’m the oddball (generally true.) Getting blown out sucks, but I’m always significantly more bummed out by a close loss because it feels like a massive missed opportunity.

No. Tell sign was when they only beat Rutgers 14-7. Indiana exposed Nebraska and now Ohio State is going to do the same. Team morale will be down big time after this game Saturday.
UCLA, Wisconsin, Iowa and USC are not guaranteed victories. UCLA looks much better in their games, USC has only lost one score games to teams with a much better offense and special teams than Nebraska, Wisconsin has progressed in every area in which Nebraska has regressed, and Iowa still plays a defense that Nebraska’s offense may have trouble moving the ball at this point.
