I’ve had mine for 3 yrs and your review is absolutely spot on , it’s such a shame it hasn’t got a turbo as this I believe would turn it into a little classic car , the drive is so engaging.
0-60 10.4 secs. Other cars in the same class are 3 seconds slower and cost a lot more. The 1.0 turbo in the ZS is 2 seconds slower, albeit better on fuel. The 1.5 engine is designed to be used, and is fun when you actually use it
Here in Australia they sell the MG3 with the 1.5 litre engine and four speed auto only. There is no manual option. That particular MG3 in the video is now in runout mode with a 10 year warranty and is also being sold alongside the all new MG3. All new MG models now come with a 10 year warranty where previously they were being sold with a 7 year warranty
Good down to earth review mate. Totally agree with the engine, it boggles my mind why they didn't put the 1.0 litre turbo in the facelift or the 1 5 turbo from the GS..make a hot hatch version. Guess it's set up for the next mg3 model. Here's hoping. But have heard once it hits over 3000 miles the engine livens up a touch. Not sure how true that is.
I'd like them to make a New MG model, slightly more expensive than the MG3 less expensive than the MG 6 ,maybe an MG 4.5 using the information and reviews of both to make a better intermediate car . Also I hope that they dont go smaller and stay in that range of engine, personally I dont like turbocharged engines .
Stefan Vg23 thanks for your question. I think you’d enjoy the MG3 but of course I recommend you take a test drive. Kit wise I am impressed with the 3 and love the 8” screen with Apple CarPlay. The warranty you’d get with the car is also great for peace of mind. Being 18 I’d also say make sure you’ve checked insurance quotes. Anymore questions please feel free to ask.
But more of a personal as you're a bigger guy and I'm a bigger girl, how does the driver seat feel? Is it too small with the sporty bucket seat style where the sides dig in weird to the love handles? Also, do you find the seatbelt long enough without having to do the seat shuffle and choking yourself? Biggest fear is that I'll look like a clown shoved into a tiny car. THANKS!
Hi Vickie. Sorry for the delay in replying. I found the seats to be comfortable for me. I have very broad shoulders and didn’t feel the pinch as I have done in other cars. The seatbelt felt fine and long enough for me. You definitely should not feel like a clown in a tiny car.
I really wanted to buy this, but in Australia it’s only offered as an automatic and I want a manual, but the 1.5 litre engine couldn’t get up a hill and that was the end of it for me, so sad coz it’s a really nice car and for $16 k getting up a hill is an essential.
If you put four adults in a one litre turbo ZS it will still struggle a little up hills. I’m sot sure about 1.3 litre turbo. MG didn’t listen to you it’s still 1.5 engine but I think there coming out with a little electric hatch I’ll be waiting for that one.
You say you don't like the engine, but don't say why you don't like it or what is wrong with it? You keep saying the engine is 'dated' but what does that mean? The engine was designed in collaboration with GM and initially went into production in 2013, therefore making it a more modern design than the engines used in the Citigo and UP! so I feel a little clarification is needed!

Excellent review mate, lots of info and a great looking car, definitely top of my list for my next car, cheers !
Thank you for your comment Chris. I do recommend having a test drive in the 3. Hugely affordable and and great to look at too.

Good review and your comments about the engine are in line with other reviews
Your reviews are genuine and honest.
Plus they are clear and precise.
Well done and keep up the awesome work 😀

I am looking to get one later in year or early 2021 here in Australia. I loved your review. Thankyou.
When will they release new model?
2021?
Im in SA and took it for a test drive... we only have the auto option in Aust.... I found it struggles up hills :(
Good down to earth review mate.

Brilliant review, thank you.
Great review, one of the best reviews of any car for that matter.
Thank you for your comment David (great name). That means a lot. Hope you enjoy the channel.
My question is which MG3 Core hatch have auto wiper sensors? Was wondering more-so about the 2022 model.
Turbo with a automatic would be brilliant I hate manuals .Great review
Thank you for your comment. Yes the 1 litre turbo would be a great addition to the range. Don’t write off manuals as they can be fun.
Great car got a 24 plate great steering great drive and equipment dont have an issue with the engine its a good engine for the price point of the car

Thank you for the comment. That sounds like a good idea but the trend nowadays is for smaller capacity engines with tubes to lower emissions.
Great review mate!
Love these reviews ❤
Hi quick enquiry I'm 18 looking to buy my first car is this a good shout? Would appreciate I replyate great vid as well

The 1.3lt turbo in this car would sell like hot cakes in Australia.
2 years on and we still don’t have that turbo engine. In Australia we only get auto -4 speed auto that is .

Steering is not a problem also good gear change there is no issue with the engine learn to drive
Hi there Jon. Are you asking me to learn to drive?

Go the i30 or Kia Cerato
We only get a rubbish manual automatic would be great

Had one 16 months and its a lot better now the engines loosened up,
Glad to hear you’re enjoying your 3 Michael, and that the engine is feeling looser.
Do you still have it? Thinking to get one myself
versione europea esiste?
***SPOILER ALERT***
To summarise the review….. He would like it to have a small capacity turbo engine!
Oh Boothy! At least say spoiler alert!
That’s eligible for a spanking!
@@AutoBears Yes, very naughty of me! Sorry about that!
MG only giving the uk off cuts at the moment, Asian, Middle East market is much bigger. Different models as well.
90% of the world use Android, but MG have decided to go Apple. How very strange
Just like Porsche 😉
Good review but no automatic no point.

Gopi you better make sure you listening to this a Yang because he makes it very clear over and over what is wrong with the engine to seriously
@TheGreatSpaces He compares it to Up!/Citigo several times and it is quicker than those which he praises!
MG motor under the hood is ok .
5”7 wide 😂😂😂
Oh yes Shane! My shoulders are very broad.
🇵🇰🇵🇰
Not as good as rover mg
That is true Joshua but we are without a time machine to bring them back.
