They say to size down, presumably to get them as tight as possible, maybe to avoid the heel rubbing against that stitching, which I agree is poorly conceived and makes me wonder if anyone tested them without socks on. I assume that over time the heel will soften, or you can probably speed up the wear-in by lubricating the heel stitching a bit to minimize the scraping effect on one's skin. I'd be interested in how these have molded and held up over the past three months, assuming you've been wearing them. Anyway, thanks for the review and for where to find them at a discount.
I was told by the crocs salesperson to take a size larger than my actual size. Went I went a size down, it felt too tight for me. The size which I needed was not available. Also the size for this model is different from the classic clogs size.
Do not buy these shoes. The lacing holes break up at the top, and it is impossible to mend them, so unfit to wear. Crocs refuse to acknowledge this or replace. DO NOT BUY!

Are they true to fit? What shoe size are you and what size crocs did you get?
I normally wear Nike 10. This one I get a 9. It fits me well. To give you some idea.
