It was given to him backstage. That was his 3rd album(Kwaku Sampson). The Kwadee(Album never won an award in 2003. Metoaso the “most complete album” of Okomfo) that had most of his hits didn’t either-Ghanaians were shocked. That was when he spoke out about they being bias. Both albums got between 5-7 nominations(I stand to be corrected). Again the songwriter was a backstage award. Ghanaians weren’t happy and so spoke out about it at the time. Let’s tell the history right. J.J. wasn’t appreciated koraaaa back then koraaaaaa. Like he said they don’t understand his music and that’s 1000% true.
