All I have right now are the local TV stations. Granted,I've only watched maybe 1 Xfinity series race in the past 5 years, but that may change if I'll have access to all of the races
I remember reading a while back that the new owners of The CW wanted to create their own version of Wide World of Sports when they brought in LIV Golf, and scored a big win with the ACC Conference and Inside the NFL. This is a huge win for the Xfinity Series and I'm looking forward to it. With the way NASCAR is going as far as the schedule, now would be the time to distance themselves from the Cup Series and create a new product by going to different tracks with the exception of Daytona and Talladega. In addition, I would not be surprised if NASCAR is not the only motorsports programming they will air in the future.
The CW wants Indycar as well which is the main reason why they aired 100 Days of Indy earlier this year. They also want European soccer & are looking at getting the rights to Italian Serie A from CBS or the German Bundesliga from ESPN both of which have contracts that expire in the next year.
@@chrisguardiano6143 I think ESPN is going to lose a lot of broadcast rights. With the way they are going, I think CW can get Bundesliga. My wish is for them to get back into local sports broadcasting. I'm from South Jersey and the CW or UPN 57 aired the Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers games a long time ago and I hope they will be able to get some of the games down the road.
Xfinity to The CW for all races is a good move! :) Good stuff! Good stuff! For those who don’t know, The CW is the sister channel to CBS. I recently saw 100 Days to Indy there. Maybe CBS is interested in racing again? Who knows!
❤ As a frustrated NASCAR fan too cheap to pay for cable just for races, this is the most exciting news I've heard in a while. I'm very much looking forward to 2025.
I'm a NASCAR fan from my childhood who got back into the sport maybe 2 and a half years ago now. I'm 30, and I've never had cable since I moved out on my own. We use a couple streaming services, and I bought an antenna JUST so I could watch NASCAR. Overall, we really just don't watch that much TV. I think this is awesome, but a bit wild that I'll be able to watch more Xfinity series races than I will Cup series races come 2025. Hope this puts pressure on FOX and NBC to put more races on their broadcast networks. I'm a South Carolinian, and it kills me that I can't watch EITHER Darlington race, including the Southern 500, one of the sport's crown jewels!
With this new deal, I'm hoping the Xfinity Series can go to some different tracks and be more (slightly) independent of the Cup Series . The majority of the Xfinity races will understandingly be companion races. But the series has 2 races independent of the Cup series. Both on road course where they don't even do competitive pit stops. Give the teams a bigger purse so they can have their own pit crews instead of relying on Cup teams and then go to some other tracks. Go to Iowa Speedway. Maybe Chicagoland or Kentucky can come back. Rotate in different short tracks each year.
I just realized that this isn't gonna be the first time that the Xfinity series has an exclusive network. Back in 2007 thru 2014, it was broadcasted on ESPN (and abc). I'm very curious to see how this new deal will work out. Other than that, I am HYPED
Well, I believe CW did an Indy 500 documentary before not too long ago so that might've been the hint as to why they are bringing NASCAR Xfinity there but I never expect them to. Idk..
I get a lot of my entertainment on the CW. The apps easy-to-use and it's free to watch so many shows on demand. Personally I'm a fan of whose line is It anyway. But now knowing that they're in their farewell season, I'm happy I don't have to uninstall the app
I LOVE this news. I'm primarily an IndyCar fan and was skeptical when they put their 100 Days to Indy series on CW. Would it have been more successful for them on another platform/ network? Probably. But, the CW gave me access without having to add a new subscription service. I've cut cable and limit what I'm willing to subscribe to monthly. If Cup has a similar broadcast schedule to what they have now, I imagine I could easily end up seeing more xfinity races on TV than cup. This is good for fans and really good for the teams. I think the network makes little difference to a typical xfinity viewer that really just wants easy, consistent access.
What about truck series broadcast rights? Could be a great chance for Amazon to get a cheaper media rights deal and would be great exposure. Hope they still get involved in some way
I literally pay 75 a month for youtube tv just to watch nascar I would easily pay for a strictly nascar subscription for a fraction of the cost. Hope to see somthing like that in the future.
The only issue I have with this is Xfinity races on Saturdays the same day as college football so that means when the game runs later ( almost always ) will we miss part of the race ? I do like that it's on a channel more people can watch and I'm sure the streaming people have that channel on their streaming package
I originally saw the headline and thought it was a joke. I liked your explanation because it makes sense. It just seems like it is a lot of channel changing especially when all 3 series are at one track.
Lets hope streaming doesn't take hold in NASCAR, especially on Prime. Streaming works very well with on demand programming, however we need look no further than Thursday night football. The live broadcast quality was hit and miss at best (nation wide), streaming still has a big hill to climb when it comes to live sports.
The LIV experience really makes golf a totally different animal. The LIV Format as well as The CW presentation makes pro golf a much more exciting watch. If The CW and NASCAR channel that energy and reinvention, the Xfinity Series could really generate some serious excitement for the Xfinity Series.
This was kinda unexpected. Over the air broadcast nets are used by cable cutters as a means of getting material for free. The streaming services are not used for sports programming as such. They do have national broadcasts of high demand sports, but not regional broadcasts. College sports have been streaming their programs.
My take is that just because the channels that NASCAR is broadcast on now doesn't mean that they don't have the reach and that by moving to CW which might be fine that won't necessarily just in itself by expanding the reach bring in new fans the people now already know that NASCAR is out there and available but the ones that choose to watch it are the fans it is like people don't know NASCAR exist everybody in the country knows NASCAR the ones that are the fans just follow it the others really don't care or they would get access and watch it and be going to the races just because it's more readily available to more audiences doesn't mean more audiences will tune in kind of the way they expect it to happen that remains to be seen they know that they are dying fan base and they're desperate to try anything because if you do what you've always done you'll get what you've always gotten and NASCAR hasn't gotten much lately especially I believe since the next gen car and all the NASCAR bureaucracy😊

Wow! This is awesome! Nascar going back to free TV will be the best for their ratings. Streaming was not going to work, no one wants to pay a lot for Nascar.
Hopefully the positive buzz from this nudges NASCAR to negotiate more network covered races for Cup. Less USA/FS1 races. IndyCar managed to get 14 of their 17 races on network NBC so its possible.
I feel like a lot of CW channel’s people don’t like because there’s not enough content through The CW. So the owners of the channels have to pick what continent to put on each and every hour.
This is HUGE for the XFinity series! People no longer have to bounce from channel to channel from week to week to watch the series! They now have their own (for now) exclusive channel and everybody knows where to tune in, this is a big W for them! Hopefully NASCAR will also get a little more consistent with the start times as well!
As for streaming... The CW has a free App that requires no subs or anything and is free. I think this hits both the standard broadcast and App crowd at the same time.

Interesting plan, and I’m waiting to see who is going to be in the booth and pits. Curious that the series may stand alone in broadcasting. I do hope that we can still see Cup drivers in the booth like we have these last few years
Eric .. we know this show “out of the groove “ started out as a college assignment, but has turned into something amazing. And it started out without a plan , or a goal. Having all the races on one network is a great choice. Consistency is important when trying to grow and audience. It makes you wonder if the Cup series will end up having all the races on one network as well. The question is "which one?"
NBC, at this point. Also, their Peacock app is working wonders for them, a cheap alternative and no cable required. Fox has neither of those, and with the new TV deal coming up, it seems they're getting kicked off of it

Good stuff! Good stuff!
For those who don’t know, The CW is the sister channel to CBS. I recently saw 100 Days to Indy there.
Maybe CBS is interested in racing again? Who knows!
Good move for them to downgrade to the CW? 😆
@@silentbob3208 at least it’s not a cable channel, so anyone can watch, and NASCAR is calling the shots with productions
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT I don't think CBS is interested I think the CW is the only interested party for now.
I wonder who would be in the broadcast booth, pit reporters, and I wonder if we'll see the return of the ticker scrolling at the top of the screen.
Latest report has Vince Welsh return to the booth after leaving Fox last year. Adam Alexander and Jamie Little are also candidates
I'm sure CW is an acronym, and one explanation is the CW is derived from CBS/Warner Brothers.
I love this for my household, we only have free antenna tv and no dvr equipment. Looking forward to watching live xfinity racing!
Best. News. Ever. Hopefully they get Cup as well.
As long as CW doesn't decide M Waltrip is their lead announcer or similar awful choice. This could be a good thing
If they are using a different production crew than the CUP series there would be no reason to run in tandem with the Cup series......
I did not see this coming. And I don’t think anyone else saw it coming either.
Idk..
That’s flipping awesome. Smart to get a live sport on free tv. They will get more eyes on the sport this way.
I love that when you referenced less commercials TH-cam inserted a commercial on my stream.
I think the network makes little difference to a typical xfinity viewer that really just wants easy, consistent access.
all i want is for allen bestwick to be the lead announcer of the xfinity series so we can all die happy
Yes
I hope they can figure out a way to get Allen, DJ and Andy Petree back in the booth together.
Wow, I was not expecting something like this. Sounds like a good plan.
When I a saw the blurred green logo in the thumbnail I thought it was Hulu 🤣
This was kinda unexpected. Over the air broadcast nets are used by cable cutters as a means of getting material for free. The streaming services are not used for sports programming as such. They do have national broadcasts of high demand sports, but not regional broadcasts. College sports have been streaming their programs.
In an era of streaming....its unbelievable
So funny, was watching this video and the part Eric mentions with streaming about “less commercial interruptions” and I get a ad break on this YT VIDEO 😂😂
That's wild. Wonder if they will get any cup races.
I wouldn't mind CW and NBC being the new providers. Fox deserves to get screwed after 3 seasons of insulting broadcasts
@@S.K.R.E.Inc.honestly fox sports doesn’t care about motorsports! I miss the good old days of the speed channel! But NASCAR xfinity on cw is a great idea!
Nascar on the same network as Whos Line is it Anyway. That is crazy
I'm happy about this. I think it's a good thing.
As a Canadian hopefully TSN still covers the races then. This year my TV provider dropped Fox Sports Racing which shows the truck races so now I have to wait for Nascar to post them on their TH-cam Channel to watch them just hope it doesn't come down to this for the Xflinity races since racing is the highlight of my weekend. Come home from work and pop on the races.
Thus is a weird choice but I'm into if it means more cash for xfinity teams 🎉
In New York City cw is basiclly pix11 which only shows news and judge shows and it also occasionally has New York mets games throughout the year
I feel like a lot of CW channel’s people don’t like because there’s not enough content through The CW. So the owners of the channels have to pick what continent to put on each and every hour.
CW is free with no login or subscription needed so I see this as a W
All of Nascar should be free to watch. If they want the ratings then make it free for the poorman.
This is a great move by NASCAR
I’m from Canada and I can only watch NASCAR on tsn so this for me will be harder to watch The xfinty Races
@@johnhaas2523 ok
As for streaming... The CW has a free App that requires no subs or anything and is free. I think this hits both the standard broadcast and App crowd at the same time.
And us folks in rural areas who can't use OTA antennas yay!!!!
Big Fan!! i am going to check that CW comes in at my house right now. As a cord cutter, i dont have cable and am sick of how hard it is to find where to watch xfinity series (cable company lol) I also believe CW has a decent package to stream what is on there so it might not take logging into other stuff to get to a stream if i am in a position to not be able to get OTA.
Interesting plan, and I’m waiting to see who is going to be in the booth and pits. Curious that the series may stand alone in broadcasting. I do hope that we can still see Cup drivers in the booth like we have these last few years
You pay for Cable TV, you pay for the Internet so what's the difference. You still have to pay somebody...Right.
Definitely to get the younger audience on the CW
Eric .. we know this show “out of the groove “ started out as a college assignment, but has turned into something amazing. And it started out without a plan , or a goal. I sometimes think of where it will go, Do you want to get bigger ? Would you work in the booth ? Or move OOTG to FS1 or CW ? Have you tried to get media credentials for a race ? Can you ? I have worked for the media for over twenty years and know some steps you need to take. Would you be willing to work for the new “nascar productions “ or CW ?
I dont get why people dont get antennas. You can usually get quite a few channels for free
This is interesting because Nexstar has been blocked out (blue screen) on my satellite feed for about 2 weeks , also a notice on the screen stating Nexstar wants more money which will drive the monthly fee higher.
I don’t know about other markets, but in Louisville, Kentucky The CW is a Sister station to our fox station. This could be why they signed with them if they’re owned by the same company.
Yall don't know how happy this TV news makes Me. I literally hate when the broadcast isn't on the regular TV. Depressing when I can't watch. Now I get to watch all xfinity
Where will it be in Canada? When NBC takes over cup we get no practice or qualifying. We get all the truck series on Fox racing.
@@johnhaas2523 we do get CW in Canada, so we might get it all too.
This is groundbreaking for sure, but call me when Cup makes this move. I'm so sick of missing races because it's on a channel I don't receive. Streaming needs to happen to grow the sport.
That’s funny as you were talking about less commercials your video got stopped for an ad lol😂
Fox has neither of those, and with the new TV deal coming up, it seems they're getting kicked off of it
I hope tsn will still be able to carry the cw in canada.
This is just awesome. I'm just glad that the Xfinity Series won't be shown on a streaming service like Amazon Prime exclusively cuz I can't afford it and I don't really have good internet for it as well. Huge win👏
Getting ahead of the Pac-12 on TV negotiations is nice to hear
Nascar wants control on how the sport is displayed to fans. And Great move to cw I'll watch every weekend now.
It would be great if you could interview someone from the NASCAR Productions. We deserve an NFL Films style production team with all the history available to them.
Great move! Hope Cup does something similar. I have the full-meal-deal Comcast/Xfinity cable plan, just so I can watch all of the NASCAR, IndyCar, and NHRA races. The vast majority of the other thousand or so channels go unwatched. I'd love to see Cup, IndyCar, and NHRA return to the broadcast channels!
