The baby's neck-bearing arms can be pulled out of the podaegi. But the arms of a newborn who can't hold his neck should not be pulled out of the podaegi. The reason is that babies can hurt their necks.
In Korea, when a newborn is turned over with a podaegi, the baby is completely wrapped with a podaegi by lifting it up to the baby's neck. That way, the baby can be completely attached to the mother's back.

Most Korean mothers and grand mothers are well skilled to use Podaegi so they can finish tying Podaegi within few seconds.

It is a traditional method that existed hundreds of years ago in Korea, but young mothers rarely use it now, sometimes when they work at home, they learn how to wear it from their mothers. In Europe and North America, it is amazing that they are interested in Korean traditions in the Western people s except for the Korean War, Samsung, Hyundai, and Psy

When you tie a podaegi, both straps must not go under the baby's hips.
When you tie a string, you have to let one go under the baby's hips and the other through the baby's waist.
So that the baby can stay on the mother's back stably without falling behind.

Are there Podaegu things in other places out of Korea??? I think there are something like Podagi.
갑자기 포대기, 호미 검색돼서 보니 인기라고 하는데, 왜 없을까요?
