It`s not out of ignorance as they know full well what they are doing.
    It`s assault and battery.
    It`s a hate crime.

It’s definitely spiritual abuse. Shame on those hospital leaders and workers!

My grandfather wasn’t indigenous but had an impressive handlebar mustache his entire life. His own children who were grandparents themselves had never seen him without it. When he was in the hospital at age 99 a nurse cut it off. The family was devastated. He died before he was able to grow it out again.

I agree with you . Better access to services for faster diagnosis and treatments needs to be fixed. It will help with improving mental health . The Canada Post strike is making it harder to get needed medications too. There are strict Dispensation regulations for ADHD Drugs too. It’s not easy to get your community member to fly to the main urban centres to pick up your prescription . I’m disappointed to hear of the lack of cultural awareness too. Will pass on this great interview to promote awareness

how horrific. Ive been a nurse for over 30 years and would absolutely never dishonour someone like that! It's a breach of ethics and a lack of empathy and morality and it's criminal. Take it to the top and keep going. I wonder if these were Canadian born nurses or international ones. No Canadian born here should be allowed to be so ignorant to the ways of our First Nations people. If it's international nurses then they should never be on a floor without sensitivity and cultural trainings. Im mortified.

There is no reason or excuse to cut anyone's hair ! If they are having surgery on their head would be the only reason .

Why does man talking about long hair when he doesn't have long hair ? I get about long hair and connection to the earth and respect for the culture belief.
