I think Namjoon wanted to know the date of his death but he can't since his task is to " not fall in love " so basically Y/N is falling in love so she gets to know the date of her death since she kinda completed her task which is to "fall in love" (only if she aceepts it tho) but Namjoon doesn't get to know his date of death cause he didn't complete his task and he actually fell in love. That's what I actually understood but I dont know if that's the point or not!!

The idea striked me at 5 am along with another idea (which is gonna be Tae's FF) when I couldn't sleep. It's not exactly a curse but some might feel like it is because they're stuck with a tattoo for the rest of their life. Basically the storyline is about how few chosen people in the world are given a chance to know their day of death but they can only know it if they complete the task that is given to them. For people who want to know about the day of their death, it's a blessing, for others, it's a curse. Hope my comment helped.
