I think Ronnie Coleman had some of the biggest legs and they were built from squats too. I remember when he squatted 800lbs for reps.

    Completely agree with this.
Also, have to say that the editing is on point!

Beyond the bodybuilding aspect, think about the transferability to the vertical jump, sprinting...

Squat vs. Deadlift: depends on the way a person is built.

Interested in hearing thoughts on sumo deadlift as it hits the posterior chain differently than conventional

Squats are obviously better for leg develpment then deadlifts are, as deadlift target the back muscles just as much as they target the hams and glutes, squats of the other hand are pure leg drive with some lower back and ab activation too

@@WenningStrength overall dealifts target more muscles then squats and they feel more intense for me so that's why they are the king for me with squats being close second but to each his own

In my personal opiniom .I believe the king of all lifts was barbell hip thrust . Like you said in another video you aint a lady unless your 180 an you aint ready for that kind of load unless you train them hip thrust. You get legg like tom platz you gona smash your balls when you take a dump . At least with a hip thrust i can train more power and more speed for where it counts

I agree 100%, the barbell back squat is the king of all exercises.
I have been squatting for a number of years and have found it to be a very technically difficult exercise to execute.
Even though it is a basic but fundamental movement pattern, there are a lot of cues/steps to implement to execute the lift.
Having said that, the strength and mass gains you get with squatting are second to none...the deadlift would be a very close second!

I read that Squats stimulate 240 different muscle groups and I believe in the indirect muscle growth principle.

Maybe this is why a lot of good shot putters ive met put lots of focus on squats and not deadlifts. Maybe. Just maybe.

Absolutely agree. There are a lot of deadlifters pulling heavy weight with average legs. The same is not true for heavy squatters.

Deadlift because it incorporates the hand/grip strength aspect of it otherwise it could go either way

I squat twice a week don't give a fuck if people say I'm overdoing it I love squatting. I just vary the type of squats I do, parallel squats, box squats, atg squats. Try doing 25 reps of atg squats at 50% once a week and I outwind most dudes that do nothing but cardio.
