RIP Yvonne Craig, the first live action Bat Girl , I hope that the upcoming new Batman movies should bring back in a good way all the mythology of the Bat Family specially Barbra Gordon's Batgirl/Oracle
Even at 7 years old in 1968 I was on the floor laughing when they sang, "Yea, whose baby are you?" LOFL!!!! The best show on television back then. Great fun for both kids and adults although I didn't get the sexual innuendos until much later.
So, they used three whole shots and put them to a song that caused my cat to scale the drapes out of anguish. You'd think they could have exerted just a little more effort.
My dad (being a huge life long Batman fan) told me that this song was originally going to be Batgirl's theme song for her own show. Originally Batgirl was going to have her own show with her own villains. Including Killer Moth, Clayface, Solomon Grundy. Then every so often she would come to help on the Batman show, and Batman and Robin would come to help on her show. Then to save time and money they just decided to have her appear as a new character on Batman.
RIP Yvonne Craig. I always enjoyed the episodes that you appeared in the classic Batman 1960s TV Series. I just wish the network had tried a fourth season since your character only appeared in the last season of the show which was season 3.
I like how shes driving thru the valley in LA when she should be in Gothem. LOL. I remember watching this when I was little and used to get so excited when at the beginning of Batman if Batgirl was going to be on it would show her doing a swing kick to let u know she was in the episode.
I remember this song being different. I remember it being sang by mostly guys and going "BatgiiiiRrRRRRLLLLL, yeeaaAAH, BATGIRL!!" same melody, but lower in octaves and smoother! What the heck?
These TV shows were and still are GREAT!! Stop poking fun at stuff just because it was made during another era. I enjoyed these shows as a kid and i still look at these shows through a kid's eyes. Stop picking the shows a part as "Adults". They were not meant to be judged by Today's standards...JUDGE THEM FOR THE 1960's standards and viewpoints....RIGHT ON BATMAN, ROBIN, and BATGIRL!
WARNING! If you are reading this and haven't listened to the song yet, stop NOW and proceed to the next video. You will NEVER get this song out of your head!
I was just on Yvonne Craigs website, it's pretty good, you can buy autographed pix and see some of the stuff she's done over the years. Marta on Star Trek, with Elvis, and a bunch of TV stuff I never knew about.
@LrdSlvrhnd Thanks. Needed that. That was 1 episode I never got to see all the way through, so it's a little no wonder I never knew about it. Thanks again.
one thing i liked about batman GIRL he stood by everybody black and white bikers truckers sailors and this series was all fist fights no gun viorlancs .GO!! BATMAN. FIGHT THE BAD GUYS. tj
I honestly think this is a fantastic theme. It's a product of its time but it's still catchy today.
That was the cleanest alley way I've ever seen.
this was a more pristine Gotham.
Gotham was a lot brighter & cleaner under Mayor Linseed.
Because she defeated all the criminals.
The Waynes really tidied up ol' Crime Alley. Nothin' but smooth sailin' from here.
I put the song on at a dull party. Everyone left. THANK YOU BATGIRL
you need to get to know a better class of people Batgirl when America was great unlike today's bankrupt world
RIP Yvonne Craig.
JonnySuite13 Just found about it now. Yes, RIP Yvonne Craig.

I remember seeing every single episode of "BATMAN" when I was much younger and boy did I enjoy watching it very much.
Now that I am an adult I can see it whenever I want to see it during this quarentine as much as possible.
