  • This is a paper presentation for the 9th Internation conference on Arabic and Literature 2024. Class Struggle in the Works of Sahar Khalifa and Khadija Mastoor: A Comparative Study" explores the theme of class struggle as portrayed by two prominent female authors from the Arab world. Sahar Khalifa, a Palestinian novelist, and Khadija Mastoor, a Pakistani writer, both examine the impact of social and economic inequality in their respective societies through their literary works. This comparative study focuses on how both authors depict the tension between the wealthy and the poor, and how class dynamics shape the characters' lives and their societies at large. The video highlights the similarities and differences in their approaches to illustrating the exploitation, resistance, and transformation that arise from class conflicts, while also situating their works within the historical and cultural contexts of Palestine and India/Pakistan. Through this, the study aims to offer a deeper understanding of how literature can critique and reflect upon the broader socio-economic conditions that define a given era.
