Early Ratt was a really solid band. The guitar work from Warren DeMartini and bass from Juan Croucier is top tier. It's easy to get distracted by the showmanship from some of the hair metal bands but put on some headphones and really listen to them and you realize how much talent was on display.
This was 1984, and they popped off big time. Ratt was the first of the _"hair bands"_ to get signed and hit it big. Their good friends in Motley Crue were already signed, but the Crue was still in their black leather and steel studs phase in 1984. Other hits/videos from this first album are *Wanted Man* and *Back for More.* Their second album had the hits *You're in Love* and *Lay it Down,* which has one of the most iconic and legendary opening guitar riffs of the 1980s.
i was born well after this song came out, but my parents never left this era behind. I spent my teenage years trying to live the 80s rockstar lifestyle 20 years too late. Still this song makes me wanna sell my yamaha for a harley lol
I was a senior in high school. I had a 1965 Plymouth with the gangster trunk you could put 3 bodies in....and i had 3 Jensen 6x9's in the back deck with a pioneer cassette player. I Bought this tape new cause my girl friend liked this song, This song was a big radio hit for them but the whole tape was just as good. Such great memories over this one, Girl friend got married to someone else , i just miss that car man !!
Same. Tulsa, Ok. Bon Jovi put on one hell of a show. Ratt were stone cold drunk but still brought the house down. Stephen Pearcy dumped a least a few cases of Budweiser all over the people in the first few rows. That was a great show from start to finish.
Dude, just as soon as you said banger solidified my opinion of your musical ear. This is the only song I liked by Ratt when I was growing up. You can't help but bop to this song! 80s hair metal at its finest.
My man, you gotta repeat the blindfold reaction with your cousin again and show them "nine and dex - pecan pie". Believe it or not, you will quickly realize who is bass's grandson, who is also behind the production of Pete and Bass. Let's just say, the aura runs in the family. Love from Germany

Thanks for the review Boyd requesting ratt lack of comunication
Fact , some of best guitarists hailed from the 80's. Thanks Randy Rhoads and Eddie VanHalen. Inspred countless players of the magical 6 string.
They also appeqrednin a new GEICO insurance commercial "we do have a RATT problem"
In the movie THE GOLDEN CHILD, when Eddie Murphy is in the biker gang house, the tv is playing RATT "Body Talk"
"Yeah we Have a Rat(RATT) Problem in our Basement"
