Majority of the football fan culture in India is just supporting European clubs to make themselves look cool. Most of these people have never stepped foot on a field to play any sport let alone football,no wonder they all look overweight and older then their actual age as most of them are from a rich or privileged background.People who are genuinely into sport and have played football atleast at the University level and indulged in other sports even for a little bit as well can never talk bad about other sport or the sportspersons because they can understand different sports requires different skillset and also physical requirements. Cricket doesn't even come close to football's popularity, skill level, or athleticism. But anyways these are two different sports, both cricketers and footballlers need skills, temperament to play the sport, we should respect that and shouldn't compare the two sports. But i wish more people took the trouble (small) to learn the rules of football. Its not even complicated. Its an easy sport to folow, fast paced, high intensity, no ads every 5 minutes... Done and dusted in 90 minutes. Perfect for today's attention span. That will help massively in developing football in india. I know its very painful to watch the indian team play, because they are not good, but our support will bring money to the game in india, that will help in future talent development, infra development. Majority of the football fan culture in India is just supporting European clubs to make themselves look cool. Most of these people have never stepped foot on a field to play any sport let alone football,no wonder they all look overweight and older then their actual age as most of them are from a rich or privileged background.People who are genuinely into sport and have played football atleast at the University level and indulged in other sports even for a little bit as well can never talk bad about other sport or the sportspersons because they can understand different sports requires different skillset and also physical requirements. It's becoming quite predictive and boring. Not many international teams are good enough nowadays. The sport is not growing. Plus people's attention spans are getting reduced.
