This is the best drug channel on TH-cam. I passed my CCRN thanks to you. Hope you come back someday, but if not good luck in whatever you’re up to and thank you for the content
Thank you so much for your great lectures. I have studied all of that 20 years ago and not in English but now when I am listening as though as yesterday! Miracle ,just miracle!
This is by far the best medical channel on YT sphere. It's amazing how he's able to condense yet explain so comprehensively. I have played some of your videos at least 3-5 times. Would you like to do a few vids on PPIs?
I just discovered your channel yesterday. I am a new RN, and about to start my new Nursing dream job in CVICU. The way you explain how these meds works in the body is very important. I like to know all the WHY I am doing what I am doing/ what I can watch for if something goes wrong. In school they teach us oh this medication is Calcium channel blocker but they do not explain how that medication works on cellular level! Thank you for making these videos!
I love these videos! Please continue to do these! There are so many different types/classes of medications that these videos would be helpful in learning. Please do antipsychotics, neurological meds, anticholenergics, antiemetics, etc.
I love these videos! It’s incredibly didactic! *one correction: the EKG of Ventricular Fibrillation is a little bit different 4:25 , but despite that, this video is amazing!!!
I watched this in real time in the icu after a bypass. 100 am my heart started racing. 140+ . They came in and immediately hung this on my iv pole. Thought i was going to die. This drug saved my life.
Great video! This was so helpful! I wonder why they call it a potassium channel blocker if it's blocking multiple things though. Did they just go with what it blocks the most? Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I was wondering, would you be willing to do a video sharing your expertise on Coq10 versus niacin? Research has shown that coq10 not only lowers cholesterol, blood sugars, blood pressure, and so many other, so I was wondering, would you be kind enough to help us?
You had an interesting video about fish oil before could you please make a video about the krill oil and cod liver oil and the regular fish oil which one is better in reducing bad cholesterol and triglycerides? Appreciate it 🙏🙏🙏😍
As a cardiac ICU nurse this has helped me so much to understand why in my icu why the doctor are hesistent at times to prescribe another beta blocker if a patient is on amioadarone if the BP is not that high
This gave me a great more deal of information than my doctor provided, even when I asked questions. I've decided not to take the drug. Thank you. I'll have ablation instead.
my husband was just prescribed this medication in tablet form and is on his way to the pharmacy to pick it up right now. he already has pulmonary fibrosis diagnosed 1 1/2 years ago. Should we expect the existing pulmonary fibrosis get worse on this medication? If so, is there anything that you can recommend to minimize the pulmonary fibrosis worsening on this medication? thank you
DrugChug You Are Great Man Your Viedos Help me alot So Can You Pls Do A Detail Study Viedo On Antibiotics Means Their Classes Types Generation Adverse effects Detail Classification Of Antibiotics?? Pls Can You Do That @DrugChug #DrugChug
It has most of its effects on potassium channels, thats why it is listed to class III. But still retains effects on other channels/receptors to a slightly lesser extent. Class 3 is the best placement for amiodarone
My husband died from amiodarone; he developed pulmonary fibrosis. It kills! Therefore, it should not exist! Now our young children have to go without... 😢 .
I think such medication only mostly kills the elderly and maybe the super young whose body will have trouble adjusting to its potent effect. The 200mg was the dosage that led to the irreversible damage to lungs of my husband. So if you're worried, you might want to seek second opinion.
@@reznomix5678 A second opinion is about seeing another doctor who might have a better idea or knows more about the medication you're taking. A new doctor that maybe can help prevent a disaster in your life when taking a deadly medicine.
I take 200 mg of this drug for nearly 2 years. for bigeminy. I have lost 8 kgs. to now weigh 51 kg. I have develpoped hypothyroid, and blurry eyes, possibly cataract. Any reason for weight loss , inspite of normal food intake? My wife also takes this medicine for 20 years, but for WPW syndrome , She has drastically reduced to 35 kg.. from 49 kg, I wish , she and I have gone for ablation, but my doctor brother frighrened me in 2004, that this was a dangerous procedure in India.
Good stuff...However, so.eone in V fib isnt going to take medication orally. Since this rhythm does not produce palpable pulses and you need to be defibrillated from the rhythm before given a 300mg iv dose, followed by another 150mg iv dose if they are still refractory. Then you worry about maintenance doses in hospital. Lol
Thanks for watching! More videos are coming!
If it helped, consider subscribing!
Excellent educational slide !
Do you have soft copy of this i can find?
When will you post vieeos of another chapters ?? I am waiting eagerly

This is excellent, and I love how you speak slowly and precisely, it's surprisingly rare and much appreciated.
The best explanation of any drug I've seen on TH-cam! -Afib patient preparing for a cardioversion in 6 weeks.

I am glad I found your channel. Thank you, Sir.
Great video! The way you explain helps so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻
the rhythm shown is not ventricular fibrillation, but atrial fibrillation!
I thought the same thing, that's the reason I scanned the comments. It was probably just a production error. Or, I'm in error.😮
This is awesome. Can you do Synthroid (and if you do can you consider post-ablation use of Synthroid that replaces the thyroid's function)?
I watched this in real time in the icu after a bypass. 100 am my heart started racing. 140+ . They came in and immediately hung this on my iv pole.
