- Hey, y’all! Times are tough, and wages haven’t kept up with inflation skyrocketing. This year, extreme budgeting for Thanksgiving Dinner is more important than ever. The average meal for a family of four can cost over $43-an amount many Americans can’t afford. So, I challenged myself to put together a Thanksgiving meal from Walmart for just $20, and guess what? I did it! That’s under $5 per person! Don’t miss out-like, subscribe, and join me to see how it’s done!

Popcorn = gotta get some of those _A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving_ vibes and flavors in there too! 😄
I got a almost 12 lb whole Turkey for $10
Kroger had their Turkey for $0.79 lb
Cranberry sauce was $0.99
Yams were $0.29 lb got 4 large yams 🍠 for $1
A free bag of green beans, I had gotten a large bag of 8 lbs. potatoes for $2.99
I had so much turkey and potatoes left for more meals. I did use butter and sugar, I had already, I made gravy from turkey drippings. I made a desert for $3.25, chocolate pudding, $0.99, cool whip, $1.25 and a cream cheese bar,$0.99, I had flour and powered sugar, 1/2 cup pecans already.
Yes, to a small whole turkey, bagged potatoes and we're having homemade rolls. There would be giblets in the turkey for gravy using the drippings. Also use the drippings in a cornbread stuffing. Boil the carcass for stock and pick off all the meat for more meals.
Yes, to fresh yams because Bruce's canned has more liquid than yams so you're paying for that. I froze the 22 oz (grrr) of yam liquid from the last 40 oz can I'm ever going to buy. It will be subbed for water to reconstitute powdered milk that will be made into yogurt and the yogurt made into an 8x8" crustless cheesecake (no need for cream cheese or other) for $1.50. Or elevate it with leftover crumbled bacon and free orange zest = $2.25. Zest all citrus, air dry it on a saucer on the counter and never have to buy any.
The budget friendly Thanksgiving looks soooooo delicious!!!!! Thank you for sharing economically dinner in these trying times. Groceries are sooooo very expensive and things are just crazy!!!! Y’all have a blessed and safe holiday sweetie!!!!
Even with a Small Whole Turkey, You could Make a Soup, Turkey Noodle Casserol and/or Open Turkey Sandwiches. A few dollare more can get you several more meals. Just a Thought!
Those Pies are 350 Calories per pie. That's Alot!!
I did see a small whole Turkey Fresh Thanksgiving day for.$12.50. I needed to be used by that day it was about 10 lbs ut that was that same day and you would have to freeze it or use it on Thanksgiving day but you could cook it have leftovers and freeze some too
I saw a fresh small turkey for $12 but had to be used that day or frozen
Excellent! Thanks for sharing!
This is the very first video I watched of yours and I really was impressed. You did an awesome job on it. I love videos like this I love seeing what creativity we can put in our kitchen and add some great meals without spending a ton of money I do have a budget probably bigger than most. It’s $150 a week for groceries. Sometimes we spend less and sometimes we spend more if I find some bargains I’ll stock up for the pantry. On my videos on Friday. They’re prepping the pantry and emergency food. Like you I just want to be able to go into my pantry grab some thing to make meals without keeping my grocery bill in check. It’s amazing what you can put together if you have just a few basic items in your pantry.
I think you did a fantastic job, at not only buying these delicious items, but also cooking it.. thanks for sharing!!!
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!! 🙏
Great choices.
Looks Delicious!
God Bless!
The Best Is Yet To Come 😊
Yes! Thank you!
This was a sweet video for you to do and it actually looks good
Thanks Tracey! It really was good! My kids ate it up!!
Dinner 🍽️ looks Delicious!😋
Wonderful job!!!
Thank you so much!
You did Awesome
All churches know the food banks in your area too
Don’t forget, many grocery stores give a free turkey this time of year, with loyalty points or whatever. If you get that, just make some potatoes, open a few cans of vegetables make gravy from the drippings. Very low cost.
You did great Thanksgiving dinner ❤😊
You did a fantastic job hon. Tfs Rosie❤😊❤
Budget is best! I gather my Thanksgiving Supplies months in advance, using sales to get the best bargain. By November I have everything, and it gives me more to spend on Turkey, I get the Carnita Turkey from Albertsons Deli, and freeze it a month before Thanksgiving, by Nov 23rd I have everything I need, and I save big money.
nice job, i made a turkey tenderloin for myself, pretty quick and easy
Thank you!! How do you prepare your tenderloin?! That’s a great idea!
@@pancakespandemonium i fixed it for one or 2 but you can always do more if needed
@@pancakespandemonium i fry them for a few minutes on each side, make a sauce and put them back in to cook for a few minutes longer, really good
Really enjoyed your video. I watched both of the videos I watch day from the beginning to the end full watch I’m a full supporter friend because I want to be inspired and I want to know how to put a video together that shows how to put it budget meal together five dollars or less. I do that every Wednesday and I am very happy what I saw on your channel you did a great job
Aldi has turkey tenderloin for around $6 to $7 which might shave a little more off the cost.😊
That’s fantastic! I really miss Aldi! They aren’t in Utah yet! 😩
♥️
I got my turkey at food bank and big box with everything else for Thanksgiving got the little pie at Walmart for 2 dollars
I’m so glad you were able to utilize that resource!! What a fantastic blessing!! ❤️ happy Thanksgiving!!
Thanks you to sweet person
i remember when the pies were .50 each
Me too!!!!
Jello and apple sauce is also a great derrest
Oh Lord it’s all carbs! Listen, for 4 people shopping Walmart grab a rotisserie chicken instead of turkey. A generic box of stuffing mix, frozen broccoli ( whichever is cheapest) gravy mix. A pie. Done. Just make sure there’s a green vegetable if you don’t like broccoli.
It’s only one suggestion. As I said in the video there’s LOTS of ways to change it.
I went to a food bank when I was getting low on groceries and before Thanksgiving, I went to another one. It helped a lot.
Yay! They are such important resources! I’m glad you were able to get help!!! 🙏❤️
@@pancakespandemonium Thankyou, God bless.
My Walmart cheapest on turkey's was $1.98 per lb. And i live in the home state of Walmart.
They’re advertising that they’re rolling back Thanksgiving prices to cheaper than last year. Out here they’ve been 99¢ a pound.
I just discovered your channel. I like your style very much and have subscribed to see more. You should follow Dollar Tree Dinners. She is my favorite yoytuber and very great at budget meals.
Thank you Heather!! I will check her out!!
Wow! We got turkeys that are Kroger's for 49 cents a lb
With a digital coupon
Oh! That’s such a great deal!! Ours has had them for .79¢ a pound ( and I got one for my thanksgiving!) but I wanted to use Walmart. It’s more nationally available.
good job, but it can definitely be done cheaper 😊
Thank you! Absolutely it can be done cheaper and of course way more expensive; this is just one set of ideas. 😊
Good job, but your thumbnail was misleading.
Right 😅
Aldi turkey is 59 cents
That’s a fantastic deal!! I really miss having an Aldi! There’s currently a petition to bring them to Utah! I’m definitely praying!
I get rop sausage 1.25 at dollar tree
I haven’t seen sausage at my Dollar Tree but I’ll definitely keep my eyes open for that!
Need a vegetable.
That’s the beauty of this. It’s merely a suggestion and can totally be modified to fit individual wants or expectations. ☺️
hey there! if you’re interested on hiring a YT video editor, I’ll be happy to work with you 😊
You Need to "Turn Up" the Volume on Your Camers. Can Barely Hear Your Voice.
I could hear her fine and didn’t even have my volume all the way up. Could you turn your volume up?
I'm also wondering why it's so low and why she's whispering.
It's a lovely dinner. The only thing I'd recommend is a splash of green on the plate - as everything is very beige. Even if it was just some parsley or some lettuce - it would be a nice pop of color.
Yes, if there was a little wiggle room in the budget a little green would definitely be nice!
Agreed even a can or bag of green beans or peas, should be under a dollar or would sub for one of the pies ❤
@@pancakespandemoniumjust a suggestion! Girl you did AMAZING 🤩
